I was just over on Facebook in one of my Instant Pot groups being annoyed by the "and GO!" thing. ugh. Petty of me, yep, but I find it annoying. I was just wondering where this came from...? I mean, is it from some popular TV show that I don't watch? Or from something like an old "Friends" episode? from a movie? or did it just materialize somehow... ? I wish it would go away.

I looked online and found nothing. I’m sure someone here will know where it originated. Totally agree it’s annoying as heck.

That’s so true. Almost in a passive - aggressive way. Trying to be cute with the annnnnddd part. But being bossy with the GO ! Yuck.

It probably just evolved from "ready...set...and...go!" I don't even notice it, but now I will! LOL!

Almost in a passive - aggressive way. I think that is what bothers me the most. I absolutely despise passive aggressive behavior.

I hate it!
I am in some Silhouette groups, and when someone posts "...and GO!" .. I have to bite my tongue. It comes off as someone saying " go look this up for me and tell me how to do it, because I am far to important to try and do that on my own"...
I also hate "Spam Me" .. I will go find a gif of Spam and put that in the reply.

So annoying. I’ve block folks in larger FB groups that say that.

It annoys me so much, almost as much as “following “, it takes everything I have not to give a snarky reply. I think it just originated from “on your mark, get set, go!”. I don’t see it as bossy as much as entitled. Like everyone is just waiting around to help them with their problem that could just as easily be googled.

You know, I’m a very laid back, live and let live person where almost nothing bugs me but this one does. Lol. I’m very tolerant and mostly think, you post what you want, doesn’t bother me however this one is just annoying. I’m not sure why, seems pretentious or something. It’s like the poster is above us and we peasants are all are just clamoring to post our opinions so said “aaaand goer” can determine the most liked response. Or something...lol....yah anyway one of the few things that irk me a bit. 🤷🏻♀️😂😏

Yes there is, but doesn't commenting - any comment - also bump the topic up to the top for more people to see it? The irritating comment used to be "bump". I think "following" replaces that.

the mommies in our family punctuate with "go" all the time. so much so that i never really notice it's an odd thing to hear. DH mentioned it to me over 20 years ago when he said "why do you guys always say go after most commands". in our defense, it was mostly when we were talking to the kids. i.e. "get ready for bed, go." "put your shoes on, go." "get in the car, go". etc. now it just irks DH when i say it to him. "grab my phone, go". "open the window, go". LOL. i can't stop myself.

I don't think I ever heard anyone saying that here, but it makes perfect sense in the kid context. I remember those years...kid is engrossed in something much more interesting that putting on shoes or setting the table, so we could ask six times and they wouldn't move. The "GO!" might spur them on. Maybe.

It annoys the ever loving shit outta me.
I belong to a beauty chit chat group and when ever someone there does it I always respond with “where are we going?” I never actually answer the question.

Can't say that I have ever paid much attention to the phrase. It doesn't annoy me when I see but I don't find myself saying or typing it either. I had no idea so many people had such a visceral reaction to it!

I hate it and refrain from answering a question I would otherwise have posted on.
I think it might have come from contests on reality shows. They use this phrasing a lot.
Whatever, I find it rude, entitled, trying too hard to be cute, and more rude.
There is a decent way to ask for help, and this is not it.

I am very intolerant about so many things that people post, but for some reason this one doesn't bother me at all. The people who use it aren't being rude, they're trying to be cutesy and trendy. But now that you've all planted that seed in my head, I bet that the next time I see it, it's gonna annoy the crap out of me! (Now, if only that friend of a friend would stop posting "nom nom nom" on posts about food, I'd be happy!)
