I ❤️ Amazon prime. I use it all the time. I had to reach out twice this week and neither time went as expected.
#1 I ordered a shirt for ds. I ordered the wrong size so I clicked return and the reason was wrong size. They immediately notified me that I would receive a refund and didn’t have to return the item. Ok?
#2 Dd ordered a pair of tweezers. 12 days later they still didn’t arrive. Lost in transit? The website shows it’s in limbo somewhere. So I requested a refund. “Hello, We're unable to create a refund. Please contact customer service for further assistance.”
I call CS. For some reason they couldn’t issue a refund. Or did everything possible to dissuade me. The guy was really nice and helpful, but I found it funny in light of the fact that I immediately got reimbursed the day before when it was my fault.
CS - “Hmmm let me look at your account... you’ve been waiting TWELVE DAYS??”
(mumble mumble that sounds like “keep talking to me” as if it was a 911 call. I knew that couldn’t be right so I didn’t say anything.)
CS - that was a stupid question. Of course you wouldn’t answer.
Me - I’m sorry I didn’t hear the question
CS - I asked if you were expecting it. Of course you were! You ordered it.
Me - can I please just have a refund? I could have purchased this at the drugstore by now. My daughter bought it and is leaving for college.”
CS - more chitchat. “You’re a reaaaaaally good customer (I am constantly having amazing deliveries LOL) and you never complain.”
End result, CS reordered with a different company (“it will arrive by Sunday.” “THIS Sunday?”) and gave me a $10 credit for my trouble.
I can’t make this stuff up 😂

I’m glad it works well for you. I’m becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Amazon, personally. I recently ordered two UVB bulbs for our lizard - we need a long length that isn’t sold anywhere locally - and so I use(d) Amazon. Last time, it took three orders to receive a bulb that wasn’t broken. At least then, they didn’t make me send back a box of broken glass. This time, both bulbs arrived broken - there was NO protective packing material, just 36” long glass bulbs dumped in a long cardboard box - and they wanted me ot ship them back. I made sure they realized it was literally a box of broken glass but yes, they wanted it back. Return was processed and refund received. But for some reason they only marked down one bulb as received back, and said they were going to charge me for the second one, which they said was in a separate box. Um, no. They were shipped to me in a single box and shipped back in the same single box. They gave me a single shipping label to send both back. That’s what I did. Anyway I had to argue and get it escalated to have a second refund after they charged me for supposedly not returning the second bulb. UGH. That’s been pretty typical of my experience with them lately.
And don’t even get me started on how far downhill my local Whole Foods, especially the produce, has gone since Amazon took over.
I’m seriously considering dropping Prime at renewal.

Amazon has gotten too big to care anymore.

After being a prime member since the beginning, I did not renew this past week due to stuff like this + a lot worse. Amazon has simply not been able to keep up with its own growth. I hope y’all went out and bought tweezers. I have my doubts whether you’ll ever see that order!

I have received all sorts of crazy packed things - boxes are are huge with just one item thrown in, leaking liquids, and so on. But the worst was this week when I ordered some food items and in a separate order ordered some lawn chemicals. They are all shipped in the same box. They didn't even put the food or chemicals in a separate bag to prevent any cross contamination (the chemicals were both liquid and granules)

How about this...Ordered a Firewire/Thunderbolt cable. It got lost in transit which Amazon informed me about and said they were shipping a replacement all without any input from me. Now it arrived WAY to late for me to use so I sent it back. They thanked me for the return and said no refund was due as I hadn't paid for it. WHAT!?!?!?! Of course I paid for it - you just didn't charge me for the replacement you sent when you lost it. That took a good chunk of an hour to get sorted out.

A few days before I got the fragile bulbs with zero protection, I received a single pair of underwear in a huge box stuffed with air-packs. 🤔

I have had a lot of negative experiences recently also. Most recent was watching something on video. System goes down... ok, that happens sometimes... I try to contact CS to report it and it keeps dropping me on both chat and the phone. Just keeps disconnecting me, over and over, on both! Grrr that made me really mad. I ended up sending an angry 😠 “How are we doing” response.
I was not angry at video having a problem but was at CS dropping me.

Earlier this summer, I ordered a pad of scrapbooking paper. (Shimelle's Sparkle City) It came bent double in a tall, narrow box. I wonder why someone would think that was a good idea? Kind of made it unusable. I requested they replace it with a pad shipped in an appropriate box, and they did. I crammed the one from the original order back in its original box and returned it. DH and I talked to a woman who ordered a $100+ guitar amp/speaker. She didn't like it and contacted them to return it. They told her to just keep it. I guess the shipping cost would have been more than the value of the merchandise or something. When you think of how huge the company is, it's a miracle that more doesn't go wrong. ETA - That post made me a Junior Member! 50 posts in only 2 years! Guess I'm not a power user.

I ordered a Pacsafe bag. A few days later I received an e-mail that I was being refunded because they were unable to deliver the bag as it was an incorrect address. Ummm. We have stuff delivered to my husband's work address ALL the time. With me going on this trip and us buying an RV, we have probably had 30 or 40 deliveries there since May. And for this ONE thing, they can't find the address. Funny how too, it immediately went up by $20 as well.

A couple of weeks ago when they sent the wrong item, I was asked to return it. This was on live chat. Ok- no problem. So she asked me if I wanted to print my label or be sent a code. I asked how did the code work. Turns out you have to go to PO and have it scanned, so I said no thanks I would just rather print and have my mail girl pick up package. Then she proceeded with a lecture about saving the trees. I'm like just add the print link so I can get on with my night! Our PO is a nightmare and I'm not going in there if I can help it. It was their fault to begin with...
