Today I must figure out how to fit my Charming Charlie loot into my luggage. Then I have a treatment. The guys will loot the freezer.
What's on your menu?
Wishing my tribal lovelies a fantastic week with good health and sweet moments.

Good Monday morning ladies!!
I slept terribly last night because of a huge thunderstorm that rolled through. It lasted 2-3 hours and between the thunder and the dogs barking at the thunder, it was a long night. I love thunderstorms but last night sucked. LOL
But I was up early anyway since today is the first day of soccer tryouts for the girls. Once is nervous she isn't going to make it at all,the other has a hamstring injury and she can't even run so she's worried the coach is going to tell her not to come back. So lots of stress around here this week. I'm ready for the week to be over already.
We were gone practically the whole weekend so my house needs lots of TLC today. So I'm going to work on that in between pickups and drop offs. We're also meeting a friend for lunch at 11. She hemmed a curtain for me so we're meeting her to pick that up and hang out for a bit.
Dinner tonight is teriyaki chicken, basmati rice and steamed broccoli. Of course, I'll be making it at 1-2pm so that the girls can eat before evening tryouts. This will be our life this week. LOL
Have a good day ladies!!

Well my Monday is off to a great start. Was in the shower and washing my hair, turned to face the faucet to rinse out my eyes and was face to face with the largest most evil spider EVER. Let out a high pitched screech that woke up dogs two blocks away and karate chopped it into oblivion with a bottle of shampoo. Then I lost a contact I had literally just put in my eye.Blinked and it was gone. Later found it in the bath mat, where I was never standing while putting in said contact. And hopefully for my finale I Left the house with my shirt on backwards and inside out. So after all of that I am torturing myself with a dinner of panko crusted lemon pepper cod ( I don't like fish), with buffalo smashed potatoes and sauteed green beans.

PolarGreen12 did you ever see Amazon Women on the Moon? I thought of the first snippet. If you haven't seen it you absolutely must. I'm sorry that your day started so stressfully. Wishing you a much easier week.

My company has finally left. I love them but 7 days with 4 extra people wore me out. I just want to go home tonight and sit in complete silence and talk to no one LOL We are having leftover homemade burgers for dinner possibly with celery and carrot sticks or quite possibly nothing else. PolarGreen12 - that is quite a start for A Monday, guess things can only get better as the week goes on. brandy327 - good luck to both your girls, I remember the stress of hockey tryouts arounds this same time. It was awful thankfully dd has now aged out and is quite happy playing beer league

PolarGreen12 I think this day calls for chocolate, not fish! DD started junior high today. Keeping my fingers crossed that we will Get through it with a minimum of drama. She is headstrong and opinionated, but we have spent the summer trying to teach her to hide that (I hate having to do that, but unfortunately it is necessary at that age. So until further notice from me, she’s supposed to fly under the radar at let the drama queens fight it out instead). Since autumn is most definitely here, we had vegetable soup with bacon for the first time this season. And ice cream for dessert.

Dh is in Sweden for two weeks, so I am on my own for dinner again tonight. I have a checken breast which I'll grill and I am making a cheesey risotto to go with it.

I’m having grilled chicken with salad and roasted cauliflower. The salad will be fresh, I cooked the rest yesterday. Today some of the grilled meat has to go into the freezer.

Dinner tonight is grilled burgers and tater tots. PolarGreen12, if you can't laugh at your misfortunes, share with others so that they can. The meme sums up your Monday morning perfectly.

Good afternoon! brandy327 I hope that the coach gives your girls a chance and they make the team. PolarGreen12 I hope that your day and week go better! Today we had a plumber come hook up the plumbing in our upstairs vanity. We had a new countertop put in on Friday. I am also taking my son for an eye exam and to get new glasses. Because last Thursday, he left his bag on the ground and someone stepped on the bag and broke them. DH glued them back together; but another kid pushed him on Friday while he was cleaning them and he fell breaking his arm off of his glasses. Tonight we are having steak, asparagus and salad.

Thanks ladies! The tryouts this morning went pretty will considering it was hot and very humid. My uninjured dd felt like she did pretty well and overall seemed less stressed. Mutt injured dd, she met with the athletic trainer and the coach and they both stressed the importance of not rushing it. And she was able to do some of the core work and when she couldn't run, she helped set up drills and clean up afterwards. Here's hoping the rest of the tryouts go as smoothly as this morning.

Daughter started high school today!! She has volleyball practice today and tomorrow and Wednesday she finds out if she makes a team (V, JV or JV2). I am hopeful she will make a team, certainly not varsity yet, but one of the other 2! So I feel ya brandy327! Good luck to your girls. Not sure for dinner, I have rechauffe from last night. Chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and stuffing. Baby Hudson gained his angel wings on Friday. They had an honor walk at the hospital as they took him to the operating room to donate. He helped 3 different people with his organs and I pray they survive their surgeries to live happy healthy lives. That was one of the hardest things to watch. His funeral will be Wednesday and after that, the parents are taking a road trip. I just can't imagine what they are going through. They are staying with her brother until the funeral, they have not been home yet. The brother did go to their house to pack up all Hudson's things and put then in his room and shut the door. So very sad. On a better note, our neighbor's German Shepard had puppies 4 weeks ago. 8 of them! They are adorable and fun to watch.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying pork burgers with green beans and fruit........uninspired but good and filling just the same......... We went kayaking yesterday at a small lake 15 miles from home.......it is the lake I spent every summer weekend at while I was growing up into what we will just call adulthood......I haven't been out on that lake since my 5 year class reunion.......I have been to the lake fishing but not on the lake.......it was fun......we purchased an intex two person kayak and tried it out before our Utah vacation next month......it works ok but we will be looking for 2 hard sided kayaks to use instead of this one..........lets just say a two person kayak is a test of patience........ scrappert more hugs coming your way......... Happy Monday Everybody!

PolarGreen12, I can so relate to your meme today...it was a Monday all right.
scrappert, thanks for sharing about baby Hudson. I hope the family can take some comfort knowing they are saving others. Still, so tragic.
Dinner will be easy. Left over rotisserie chicken and a veggie TBD. I'm having a big bowl of fruit salad.

CarefreeSadie, I want a kayak so badly. I hope you had a fabulous time. scrappert that so sad but brave. That family did a good thing. I'm exhausted today. My brain has been slow all day and I've been getting a lot of negative messages from it. I am fighting the good fight but losing. I spent my day doing the most boring work at work I could find today to avoid having to tax my brain further. I will eat a burger for dinner. We ended up having rechauffe last night because the burgers were so frozen they were hockey pucks. After I eat I will head over to visit my psychiatrist. I love that she has evening appointments and I know she can help me, but I'm feeling like I just want to blow her right off today. I'm retiring from commenting today as I'm having a tough time making sentences.

jeremysgirl I hope you make your appointment. I ate horrible all weekend so I didn’t post. Ohio state students came back this weekend. The grocery near campus was closed down so they all came to mine. It looked like a snowstorm is coming. The shelves are empty. We’re having steak kebabs with salad & grilled veggies.

I spent all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday out in the yard spraying weeds in the lawn, trimming bushes and generally trying to make order out of mayhem. It was hot and dirty but productive. On Friday night, DH went to a high school football game and my dinner was simply fruit and yogurt. The rest of the meals those nights were equally uninspiring. Today, however, I'm trying these these Corn and Crab Cakes which will be served with zoodles in garlic/parmesan butter and some leftover green beans. Love me some crab cakes so I hope these are good. I remember those days of stress with team tryouts and middle school trauma. Thinking good thoughts for your kiddos.

A lot of chicken on the menu today, and I will add to it. My chef (aka DD) is house sitting at MIL's for a week, so I had to cook dinner myself. Hurrumph. I made garam masala, chilli and lemongrass chicken, with smashed roast potatoes. jeremysgirl I'm sorry that you're struggling today.

Omg have y’all had Marry Me Chicken? I have seen it posted on Pinterest a lot but I thought I had made it before. Guess not because I would remember that! So good and easy. I thought I had made enough for leftovers but dh ate it all. www.modernhoney.com/marry-me-chicken/The only change I made was instead of just salt and peppering the chicken I threw Montreal chicken seasoning on it. Wish I had made more!

First day of "vacation" today. I went to the fruit/veg market and Costco and knocked out 4 loads of laundry before heading to the eye dr. I always take off the entire week that ds' heads off to school so we can get everything ready. Since the eye Dr was late, we just had grilled sausages, chips, and baked beans.

I went into my office today, so nothing fancy.
Cooking orange chicken from Costco, white rice, peas, and then grilling chicken apple sausage as a backup because two boys will be coming home from football hungry and worried we will run out of orange chicken! I also have asparagus that I might grill...

Homemade chicken Alfredo and sautéed veggies. It was seriously amazing. We actually had it at my friends house last night for dinner and it was so good that I went and bought all the stuff today to make it again! Used her recipe. My dad was over, so he ate with us too and loved it. I’ll be putting this on my rotation!
