And found a hair. 🤢 Now I’m petrified of other tins. I was making soup. Glad I found the hair before I dumped in the fire roasted tomatoes. But I feel kind of 🤮.

Ew... Well, now I am going to be checking even more than usual all canned goods before using! Hope you had a can of non-hair infused tomatoes to replace it with.

I hate to tell you that there is a lot more in your canned food than you think.
There is an acceptable amount of bug parts and rodent hair that is allowed in canned food.
Just an fyi.
ETA- Do you think it was human hair or rodent hair?

ETA- Do you think it was human hair or rodent hair? Yup! My husband used to do the computer monitoring of grape and tomato crush seasons, so he learned a lot about both. There are more than just hairs and bugs in your canned foods and wine. I believe there is a term for it like MOTT (material other than tomatoes) or something similar. It's better to be left in the dark on some things.

You should notify the company. They will want to know the number on the can.
And yes..... gross!

Just put it out of your mind. It’s probably not the first time and you’re fine, it’s not a nice thought but don’t dwell on it.

It's just a hair. Would probably bother me if it gets stuck on your tongue and why is that such a distress when you get a hair stuck there? HMMM things that make you go HMMM..... but otherwise, what's the harm. Just a little extra keratin.. ..

Honestly, I pay so little attention when I am cooking that I typically assume all hair I encounter when I'm cooking is mine, because it falls out a lot and usually is.

Don't think about it. You've probably eaten more hair and bugs than you want to know!
