Cathy Allen from Creative Scrapbooker does some amazing pages and other projects and has a number of tutorials on how to do her many layered process. She has been doing it all with CleaarSnap inks, but you can do the same with other blendable inks. justjac has done some awesome page backgrounds with stamps. Some of my own favourite DYI pages are fall ones that I blended inks; then smooshed solid leaf stamps over that; blended some more and then stamped outline stamps over the top and embossed in gold &/or copper. Takes some time, but as I said, I love the results. Here is a card I made using one of my DIY stamped/inked backgrounds. Sometimes I cut them up for cards or page elements, but other times I use the whole thing as my background for a page. fall bd cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Your card is beautiful!!!

This thread is inspiring me to pull out my stamps. I go in spurts where I use a date stamp but I haven't even done that in a while. I did open that drawer by mistake recently. ::eyeroll::

This thread is inspiring me to pull out my stamps. I go in spurts where I use a date stamp but I haven't even done that in a while. I did open that drawer by mi stake recently. Ha ha! Yes, mine go neglected a lot. I am not good at colouring and don’t have the patience to fussy cut and paper piece. Have to admit that my most used is a date stamp. Why do I have so many stamps?

I use stamps mostly for embellishments, and for creating my own background papers.
As huge as my stash is, sometimes I can’t find quite what I need or want. I had photos of our family up in a canyon/mountain setting. I had nothing that seemed suitable. I got out some nature stamps, and created both the background and embellishments. It’s one of my favorite pages.
With stamps, I can choose what colors I use for my embellishments and backgrounds. They take longer to create, but I am often happier with the results because the colors matching colors in my photos matters a lot to me.

I mostly use word or phrase stamps and stamp them either onto labels, or directly onto my pages. Debbi Tehrani has been trying to use some of her stamps so a lot of the layouts she's been posting have some form of stamping on them. Even if her pages don't suit your style you might find some inspiration in her pages. You can find her insta hereOne of my favorite scrappers ever! She's so great at story telling. Something I seriously lack. I love her childhood memories pages. I'm always amazed at how she pulls items from various lines and it always works. She’s always been one of my favorites! From way back on the old 2peas board

This thread has me wanting to pull out my stamps! I tend to forget about them in favor of stickers and other premade embellishments.

I always used to play along with her stash challenges and I have always loved her ability to mix products from all eras and make gorgeous pages. I'm glad to see other peas are still following her.

Yes! I love her csi challenges too ( not sure what there called for sure) . I remember her pages, I was probably blown away and inspired by the first one I saw lol. I just love her style and love all the little details. Every one I’ve seen has been put together so well. I was a total newbie back then and when I found out she scrapped 8x8 I thought if I tried that size I could make amazing pages like her 🤦♀️😂. Gosh I was such a dork 😂

These are similar to how I store mine, only I use the old-style photo pages that have the clear plastic on top. That means you can stick down things like die-cuts with adhesive and pull them off again without tearing up either your storage or product. 9 pocket trading card pages are great too. Photo pages is a great idea! I'm pretty sure I have some laying around I could try this with!

I like to stamp on strips of paper and use them for layering - either under photo mats or between a photo and a mat or the patterned paper if not using a mat. I will also use a larger stamp and stamp it under a photo mat so that a portion is peeking out from under the mat. It just sort of adds another layer of sorts.

Thank you for all the ideas! I’ll be scrapbooking on Monday. I’m going to challenge myself to stamp on a page. I’ll let you know how it goes

Oh man I LOVE stamping on layouts but usually forget to incorporate it. Been a ton of it this week on school grade pages for kids school albums.

I will stamp on tags for pages I will stamp a title and fussy cut around the letters I will stamp and heat emboss I will also stamp and use the matching die for images I will also stamp icons (arrows/stars/hearts etc) directly onto the page if they are a smaller size I love my stamps for scrapping and tend to buy with that in mind
"I will stamp" repeated over and over reminded me of Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham and now I need a version of this book with stamping. I will stamp them anywhere!
I've used them to create a background, to create a die cut image, to embellish tags or labels, directly to the page to add emphasis or draw your attention to an element and also as just part of a background below a cluster, to make titles either by direct stamping or cutting out the alpha, and to make a border or photo corners around a photo or photo block.
Oh, I wanted to add that you can also stamp on pattern paper. not just card stock.
