I just dropped my girls off at day 2 of soccer tryouts and ds is getting ready to leave for cross country practice. I'm sitting here enjoying the quiet for a few minutes before getting ready for the day. This whole week is busy and tryouts, practices, and appts since school starts next week. Today - orthodontist appt for 2 of the 3 kids to get their new retainers. Then off to the city 35 minutes away to find a lunchbox for dd#2. Back home to make dinner by 3pm so the girls can eat before their 5:30 soccer tryouts. In between all those things I need to do some housework and laundry. What's everyone else up to today?? I hope everyone has a great one!!

I'm about to drop DS off at his job, and then I'll head back home and do my workout. I have a hair appointment at 10:30, and then it's right to work. I have two sugar cookie orders (130 & 70) for weddings that I need to get done today, and cakes to bake as well for my week.
Busy day!

You are busy today! Hope all goes smoothly. 😁
I'm waiting for a new washer to be delivered. It's the second major appliance I had to replace this month. Not fun.

Personally I couldn't run my life without Amazon. lol My day involves dropping off several bags of clothes at a local clothing bank, doing laundry, returning some books to the library and picking up two more than I put on hold, going to a neighbor's after lunch to take their dog out for a pee break since they'll be gone all day (taking their ds to college...omg I'm old, I remember when this boy was BORN!), calling my mom's bank to deal with a few issues, general housework, and this afternoon seeing "Spiderman" with dd. Leftovers for dinner.

I’m at the trailer with my two youngest girls, for probably the last day of the summer. They’re currently still sleeping, I’m having coffee outside and doing some hand quilting and trying not to cry because I’m so tired of being all alone.

Aw, ashley, I am sorry you are struggling. brandy327 We had a lot of fun with our kids in sports and band, but I am not sorry we are not running around like that any longer! I was going to do yard work this morning, but it's going to rain, so that's off. I'll probably meal plan and get groceries later this morning.

Back to school shopping with yds. He insists he doesn’t need anything (he doesn’t need much but he does need a few new pieces of clothing plus schools supplies) so we’re hitting Marshall’s and Target today (along with the party store....his bday party w/ friends is this weekend; family party next weekend) and then reevaluating. This kid hates to shop.....pray for us 🤣

Today is my last day of summer break. I go back to school tomorrow. I have some stuff to get together to bring in tomorrow and a a load of laundry to do. I did most of the house cleaning yesterday. I'm going to fit the few small things I need to do in between enjoying my last day of break with DH.
He is a part time college professor and goes back next week. It was a nice slow summer.

I want to clean my closet but it’s a few days project, not just one day. So I will procrastinate longer and not do it today.
So for today - I’m free!!!

I woke up every 10 minutes from 5am (when Dh's alarm went off the first time and he kept snoozing it) until 6am when my alarm went off (and I got up). DD12 is off to school (bus picked her up about 20 min. ago). DD19 will be headed to horseback riding with a friend in about 40 minutes and I don't expect her back until lunchtime. So I'll have the house to myself for a bit.
Laundry and then a sewing project once I grab breakfast and get off the computer. I also need to pull together plans for DD12's Girl Scout time tonight (she's a Juliette and we head to the library for an hour on Tuesday evenings to work on badges and projects)

I have a therapy appointment. I should go to the gym today. I need to pay bills, and start washing bedding and things for DS's return to school. But my body is telling me it's exhausted from the past four days and needs a binge-watch on the couch day. We'll strike some kind of compromise.

About to go for my morning walk, then I’m watering plants and pulling weeds until it’s too hot out. Oh, and bathing my stinky pups!
This evening we are hosting a birthday dinner for two of our DSs girlfriends. The girls’ birthdays are yesterday and today and one of them has never had a big birthday celebration. I kind of went nuts at hobby lobby and we are having a mermaid themed party! My mil came over last night and we made two, four layer pink and purple cakes. I still need to decorate the cakes. Hopefully they will be cute and not giant cake fails! Looking forward to setting up the table and decorations, since I have all boys it’s been really fun to pick out girly stuff!
Going to be a fun evening, I need to get going now! Have a great day everyone!

It stormed all last evening and most of the night. I've been waiting for the rain to stop as DS and I planned a five-mile trail run this morning. It looks like it may be a drizzly, wet morning though so we may just go anyway and get all muddy -- could be fun! We also have to complete some business at the bank. I bought him a new car in late spring and ended up financing through the dealership to get some special pricing on the car. Rather than pay it off fully now that we've held the loan long enough, we're electing to pay the bulk off and refinance $5,000 through our credit union. He turned 18 this month, so we can get a secured loan in his name only that will allow him to build a great credit history. Schools don't teach this stuff, so as parents we try to help our boys develop good financial management skills for their lives. ---- ashley -- Alone is better than with ex, right? Be patient. The right person will come along. In the meantime, you are making such great strides in other areas of your life. Maybe life means for you to focus on that for a season? Keep putting yourself out there. It will happen.

I'm on vacation this week, as ds goes back to school. DS has his last volunteering day of the summer this morning, so at the moment, I am vegging on the couch. What I want to do today is clean out the kitchen cabinets, but sitting on the couch and reading sounds good, too! Yesterday, I did 4 loads of laundry, went to Costco and the fruit/veg market.

Sleeping. I've been having an autoimmune flare up since Saturday afternoon, and I was in too much pain to sleep last night. I'm tired enough now that I can sleep through it though.

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at 10. He's a young man in our town who has Autism who has befriended pretty much every citizen in our town and loves to go out for breakfast and lunch with all of his friends. Today's my day - he's lovely and I'm looking forward to it. Then lots of laundry and meeting a friend to have our nails done.

I finished a big work project yesterday, so today I'm going to clean off my desk, do some filing, neaten up my computer files, and catch up on invoicing. That should take me half a day. I also want to do some weeding since it's a little cooler today, and either a walk or a trip to the gym. Phew, I can finally catch my breath. That project was very time consuming.

I wish we didn't live so far apart, I'd love to sit and have coffee and craft with you
Today I'm deep cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, we've had some work done and everywhere feels grubby. I'm just having a wee break with a cup of tea and admiring my beautiful new fitted wardrobe. God, it makes me so happy

The timer on my dryer broke over the weekend. So the dryer still works, I have to set a timer so I don't forget that it's running. It's kind of a pain. And I really would like to hold out until the first of the year to get a new one, I'm not sure I can take it though. LOL This dryer is about 3 years old but it was super cheap(like $300) and has absolutely NO frills.

I'm headed to the Apple Store shortly to replace an IPad battery. since its at the mall about 40 mins away I'll do a little early Christmas shopping while I'm there and pick up some things for DGS 2nd birthday coming up in a few weeks. My niece from RI is spending a night locally on her way to VA so I'm meeting DS And DDIL later to take her and her kids to dinner. She has 18mo old twin girls and this will be the first time I've seen them, can't wait. 3 kids, all under 2, hope everyone takes nice long naps this afternoon.

Leftovers for dinner. You would think Amazon works be perfect. But this dd does not have good luck with ordering things online. I've all but banned her from ordering clothes online because almost everything she's ever ordered has had to be returned. She found a few she looked on Amazon and we may end up going that route if we can't find something today. I have to return the lunch box we got over the weekend anyway in that same city. The one she got is must a little too big to carry in her backpack. She's a freshman this year and due to the size of the school and low little time they get between classes, NO ONE uses their locker...so it has to fit in her backpack. *eyeroll* I do have a couple of other errands in that city while we're there so it's worth the drive/time.

My dh travels a lot for work so I always plan this project for when he's gone. That way I don't feel pressured to get everything picked up before he gets home from work. I can leave it all strewn around on his side of the bedroom, lol. He'll be gone for several weeks in September/October on a 3-country trip so I'll have a nice long time to get these big projects done. I've planned for my closet, the linen closet (omg, so out of control), and kitchen cabinets. With dh away I can leave the closet stuff all over his side of the bedroom, the linen closet all down the hallway, and the kitchen stuff on the dining room table. lol.

I read the other thread about dating and dear Lord, that is not for the faint of heart. I've always kind of thought if something ever happened between me and dh, whether it was divorce or death, I'd never remarry. Instead, I'd try to find another female kind of in the same situation and do the roommate thing. I used to have a really close friend years ago and that was our plan.

My youngest had a 6:30 am cross country practice, so I was up a little earlier than usual to get her there (her school is 30 minutes away). I took the dog on a long walk when I got home and now I’m playing on the iPad and getting ready to have some yogurt and fruit.
Later this morning I need to meet up with a contractor at the house I’m selling, and my daughter has a JV tennis match after school unless it gets rained out!
