I have a very long list of things that need to be worked on, but this summer has been so crazy and moving took up almost all of our time. Now both kids have left for college so it's just me at home during the day to face the boxes. Yesterday was the first day that I "took off" since I can remember. I'd love to spend the day working on a quilt block, I am incredibly slow when it comes to foundation paper piecing. ashley I too, would love to hang out with you and be crafty. Or just sit and chit chat; I don't have a very large circle of friends do do that with.

I have a busy day today. I’m having two friends over for lunch (I’m making spaghetti). After we eat, I’m going to try to teach them to play mah jongg. Later tonight, I’m being initiated into the local Eagles club. I’ve been dating a man since January, and he is a member and started taking me there. I decided I wanted to join.

I’m sitting enjoying a delicious cup of coffee in my quiet house. I’ve been watching my Grandsons for the last two weeks while my daughter and son inlaw went to work. They needed me to watch the boys as they were in between daycare providers. Taking care of an eight week old and a very active two year sure requires a lot of patience and energy. I’m worn out! This morning I’ll do some laundry and pack. We are headed to our cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin to enjoy a couple weeks of R&R. It’s going to be wonderful!

I am getting ready to have my first cup of coffee today. I’m going to be cleaning my house, making an early dinner for the family. Then I am going to go out to dinner with some of the ladies in my neighborhood and their friends. It’s the first time I’ve been invited so I’m very excited. Know if this question I’ve been asked yesterday or Sunday I was swamped with doing things for my husband’s family and my sons. So fingers crossed, it stays quiet today.

Working atm. Picking up my sick toddler from my ILs at 3:30, then home to take care of him. So... I won't get much done lol Shower and laundry after he goes to sleep and hoping to start working on the 3rd block in a crochet quilt I started.

Back to school shopping with yds. He insists he doesn’t need anything (he doesn’t need much but he does need a few new pieces of clothing plus schools supplies) so we’re hitting Marshall’s and Target today (along with the party store....his bday party w/ friends is this weekend; family party next weekend) and then reevaluating. This kid hates to shop.....pray for us 🤣 LOL I have never known what it's like to have a kid that doesn't like shopping. My ds is just as much of a clothes hound as my dds. LOL Good luck to you!

About to go for my morning walk, then I’m watering plants and pulling weeds until it’s too hot out. Oh, and bathing my stinky pups! This evening we are hosting a birthday dinner for two of our DSs girlfriends. The girls’ birthdays are yesterday and today and one of them has never had a big birthday celebration. I kind of went nuts at hobby lobby and we are having a mermaid themed party! My mil came over last night and we made two, four layer pink and purple cakes. I still need to decorate the cakes. Hopefully they will be cute and not giant cake fails! Looking forward to setting up the table and decorations, since I have all boys it’s been really fun to pick out girly stuff! Going to be a fun evening, I need to get going now! Have a great day everyone! How super nice of you! I'm sure they'll love being celebrated!!

Today I need to get a real jump on deep cleaning my house. We’ve been gone so much over the past few months working on stuff at the lake, coupled with having/helping with two garage sales (ugh) over the last few weeks and the house is looking pretty messy and neglected. We have out of town family coming to stay with us for several days next week so I want to get this dump cleaned up! I also need to go to the chiropractor today because he’s got weird hours this week (again), and I also need to find something for DD to wear for school pictures next week. There’s so much to do this week and I really don’t want to do any of it!

Sleeping. I've been having an autoimmune flare up since Saturday afternoon, and I was in too much pain to sleep last night. I'm tired enough now that I can sleep through it though. Ugh, I can relate. With the humidity and storms we've been having I've begun dealing with some knee pain that's been waking me at night. Hope you can get some sleep today!!

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at 10. He's a young man in our town who has Autism who has befriended pretty much every citizen in our town and loves to go out for breakfast and lunch with all of his friends. Today's my day - he's lovely and I'm looking forward to it. Then lots of laundry and meeting a friend to have our nails done. My favorite post of the day! That is such a wonderful thing. My ds is on the spectrum so this kind of thing gives me the warm fuzzies. <3. Enjoy your breakfast!!

You are busy today! Hope all goes smoothly. 😁 I'm waiting for a new washer to be delivered. It's the second major appliance I had to replace this month. Not fun. Oh no!! The timer on my dryer broke over the weekend. So the dryer still works, I have to set a timer so I don't forget that it's running. It's kind of a pain. And I really would like to hold out until the first of the year to get a new one, I'm not sure I can take it though. LOL This dryer is about 3 years old but it was super cheap(like $300) and has absolutely NO frills. Ugh, bummer. I wish appliances were built to last, like in my grandparents' generation. They bought things once and it lasted decades.

I just finished my Kodiak Cakes waffles- my newest obsession- so good. Today is haircut and color and then gym later. ashley- I feel your pain. These dating sites are really beginning to have more fakes than real people. Dealt with 2 of them yesterday. One was in the Army- so I knew where that was going. The other only had one pic and wouldnt send any more. His profile was gone by the end of the day... Hang in there!

I remember my mom's waking machine lasted 23 years before she had to replace it. These days you're lucky to get 4-5 years.

ashley -- Alone is better than with ex, right? Be patient. The right person will come along. In the meantime, you are making such great strides in other areas of your life. Maybe life means for you to focus on that for a season? Keep putting yourself out there. It will happen. It is infinitely and immeasurably better than being with the ex. Yes. I am focusing on the good things — really, I am. I have an amazing life. I do. I have done great things (written a book! taught water colours in Versailles! discovered new knowledge in stem cell biology! published a peer reviewed paper). And my life is full of beauty. I go to school to learn to grow cannabis and am again doing things no one had done before! But sometimes this loneliness just comes from nowhere predictable and consumes.

"Today" is already over here! I spent the day pottering around the house and doing some cleaning. Then a friend wanted to go and see a movie tonight so we went out for an early dinner (a Polish restaurant & I had pierogi which were delicious!) I knew it was a foreign movie and there were subtitles, what I didn't know was that it was 3hrs 10 mins long...3hrs of reading, I think I should be able to add that as a book towards my reading goal for the year... Got home at 23:30 and fed the starving kitties & now I am about to do some more reading to finish a book for a new book club that meets tomorrow night.

I’m at the trailer with my two youngest girls, for probably the last day of the summer. They’re currently still sleeping, I’m having coffee outside and doing some hand quilting and trying not to cry because I’m so tired of being all alone. Awww, I'm sorry you're lonely. I read the other thread about dating and dear Lord, that is not for the faint of heart. I've always kind of thought if something ever happened between me and dh, whether it was divorce or death, I'd never remarry. Instead, I'd try to find another female kind of in the same situation and do the roommate thing. I used to have a really close friend years ago and that was our plan. That is a pretty decent plan! Ok, so the last guy who stopped speaking to me did so because... oh, get this... it’s funny... because I’m going camping on my own and he thinks that means I’m complicated!! Holy effing hell. Seriously, we were chatting for days and he was really positive and one of the things he wanted was to find someone to go camping with? Now, who’s complicated? Lol.

Currently, I'm doing the preservice training I have to get done by tomorrow or I have to go in to the school to get it done on Friday. It's annoyingly bland and long.
This morning I got twin 2 to cross country practice for 7 am, then got the dog to the vet for a shot, where he promptly threw up on the bench, twin 1 and my purse.😣
Finished at the vet and dropped twin 1 off for an all day football practice and picked up twin 2.
I'm waiting on the a/c repair guy. Our a/c has been out since yesterday and it's hotter inside than outside right now and it's only getting hotter today. I have a headache from the heat, and we are all feeling somewhat miserable right now.

I want to clean my closet but it’s a few days project, not just one day. So I will procrastinate longer and not do it today. So for today - I’m free!!! My dh travels a lot for work so I always plan this project for when he's gone. That way I don't feel pressured to get everything picked up before he gets home from work. I can leave it all strewn around on his side of the bedroom, lol. He'll be gone for several weeks in September/October on a 3-country trip so I'll have a nice long time to get these big projects done. I've planned for my closet, the linen closet (omg, so out of control), and kitchen cabinets. With dh away I can leave the closet stuff all over his side of the bedroom, the linen closet all down the hallway, and the kitchen stuff on the dining room table. lol. YES - THIS! My DH will want it all done in one-day and get annoyed with the mess everywhere, but its not a one-day job. Lucky you that you have opportunities to do projects when he's away.

I am just about to give the dog a bath. Ugh. It is a 2.5-3 hour project. I don’t know which one of us is the most tired when it’s over. It is a lot of work, but she looks so darn cute when she is finished. She hates getting a bath, but is good.

It’s our last week of summer vacation. I am trying to squeeze as much fun into this week as I can. Yesterday was art project day. We made Jackson Pollock type paintings. Very messy. Super fun.
Today was beach day. I picked the hottest day out of the forecast list and declared it to be so. Unfortunately beach day was cut short because a stupid thunderstorm just rolled in.
Don’t know about tomorrow.
Thursday is sewing day. All three bigs want to learn to sew stuffed animals. So we’re going to do it!
The weekend the kids are staying with the g-parents and hubs and I are doing kaya-tris. I might die. 😳I’ve never done a full triathalon before. I’m not a runner. At all.
