A few week ago we started Morgan on smarty-pants multivitamins. I have read they help with some ADHD behavior. However, the past few week it's like he has lost his little mind. Has anyone had a negative experience with this vitamin?

No experience, but the first thing that came to my mind is how much sugar and dyes do they contain. I looked them up and they do have a high sugar count. It is the first ingredient on the list, next being Tapioca Syrup. Does indicate natural coloring. I would think maybe the sugar is having an effect. Maybe try to find one with less sugar and still no dye. I think a good multi along with Omegas are the things they claim to help with ADHD.

Have you consulted his doctor? Was he told to start this?
My adhd child is a teen, so a bit more able to discuss how medications affect them.
I would discuss it with his pediatrician.

How old is Morgan? Could she be excited about back to school and totally unrelated to the vitamins? :)My college kids had their own kind of energy happening the past few weeks and it had nothing to do with their ADD

It could definitely be a reaction to a specific ingredient but it also could be so much more. In the past week we had the full moon, allergies have been bad, talk about back to school and new routines etc. It's so hard to tell.

There is no scientific evidence that multivitamins have any impact on ADHD.

Vitamins were not recommended by my pediatrician as children should be getting nutrients/vitamins from the food they eat. No need to supplement IMO.

Personally, I think the Smarty Pants brand is a little gimmicky. Not bad if you need a gummy but overpriced for what you are getting. The amount of omega 3 is low. Our pediatrician recommends 1200mg for my ds.

I don’t know if your child is medicated, but vitamin c can affect the absorption of adhd medications, blocking its ability to work fully. We stopped giving my ds vitamins and high vitamin c foods during breakfast when we noticed some days his meds were more effective than others. It helped tremendously.

Yes his Dr. Know we use multivitamins. I will look in to more omega's. He is not medicated for his ADHD and we home school year arround. Summer is just a bit lighter then the normal school year.
After looking around we are actually think it might be the melatonin. He been on and off of it since 2. So we are going to take him off again. This was a different brand then normal. See if that helps in a week or so being off.
