Are all the guests asked to bring something, or are you helping host the event? (Asking because I'm nosy)
Are you allowed to bring dessert finger food, or just savory?
Dessert: mini cheesecake bites, cookies, mini brownie bites.
Savory: cheese plate, crackers, grapes, baguette slices, fig jam.

This time of year I might do individual toothpicks with a grape tomato, fresh basil leaf, small fresh mozzerella ball on it. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar right before serving. Light, refreshing, easy to transport, and simple.

I'm another whose first thought you have to bring food? But, maybe you are co-hosting.
I like cold shrimp on a dill dip, on a cracker. Or, you could cut up veggies or fruit.

I hate being asked to bring food to other people’s parties. Bah, humbug. LOL! That's why I asked if everyone is, or is she's helping to host. When I first read it I was thinking: Oh goody, invited to a shower! Now I need to make sure I bring a gift from the registry, a book instead of a card, a dish to share, an item to earn a raffle ticket, and make sure I write out my own Thank You note envelope.

I always like it when someone brings deviled eggs! It would depend on the type of shower I think, where/what time/who is attending/is there a theme? For a breakfast/brunch I would bring berries, maybe some good croissants, those type of items. In general I like to bring Boursin cheese wrapped with hard salami, homemade guacamole and chips (live in Texas with a lot of Mexican food gatherings), brownies, manchego cheese squares with Marcona almonds, with honey to drizzle on them, tasty veggie and fruit trays and homemade dip, artichoke spinach dip.

In that case, bring something premade from a bakery or the supermarket. Do what's easiest for you. May I suggest a single bag of premade salad greens?

Unless I was really close, I think asking all guests to bring a dish is rude.
I would have a prior engagement that day !

If you have a crock pot, get little smokies with BBQ sauce. Heat up before arriving and serve with toothpicks.

For a 10:30 shower I would bring mini muffins.

This one is always a winner: Antipasti BitesThe ones I make are a bit smaller than the ones in the picture. I usually just put some Danish feta (much tastier than mozzarella), sun-dried tomato and basil leaves in each cup.

Trying to imagine a shower that I want to go to AND bring food. I'd be happy to offer to bring an appetizer for a non-gift party, but if I am expected to bring a gift, a card, and play dumb games, I am not bringing food. Bah humbug.

I agree it's an unusual, rude ask.
If I were going to bring something, I'd probably bring strawberries, possibly with a choc. dipping sauce. We have great local berries right now.
As hostess of an event, it would not work for me to have a potluck of who knows what showing up for the food. I'm surprised she didn't at least ask people to sign up for categories of finger foods.

All the guest are asked to bring something. It at 10:30 on Saturday morning. Then I don't think you are a 'guest' when you have to bring your own food to a shower. You are expected to bring a gift already since that is the purpose of a shower. This is a first for me. I've never been invited to any type of shower and been asked to bring my own food. I hope this isn't a new trend.

If I'm feeling put out that I have to bring something, I bring deviled eggs. Can't beat $2 for 24 servings.
If I like you, spinach dip and chunks of sourdough.
