Does anyone have experience with these? I have heard they are affordable, but how do they compare to the more expensive ones?

I don’t have personal experience, but we have friends that just purchased some from there. They were recommended by their Dr, I believe. My parents were just talking about these (my mom is getting after my dad to get some ) and they have heard good things about them and that they are substantially cheaper. Hopefully someone with personal experience can give you the low down. Good luck.

Marking my spot because I have reached the point where I need to consider hearing aids.

My father has the ones that work with your phone. He gets them for about $4000 at his audiologist. Costco has the same ones for much cheaper. However, you get Costco ones and you are on your own. You have to pay for adjustments, fixing them, etc., and that really adds up. My father has never paid a single penny more in the 3 years he has had them. He has had so much support from the audiologist and he doesn't hesitate to go there to get things adjusted as his hearing has changed.
That being said, he does buy his batteries from Costco. They are crazy cheap there and Dad says they last longer than other batteries.

I would totally recommend ones that work with your phone, also. They have changed his life. He can now talk on the phone because the sound is piped directly into his ear. Before that he could never hear on the phone. He also has them set up with his tv so again, the sound is directly in his ear. He loves that, too.
He also likes the fact he can adjust the volume on each ear with this phone and he can turn on/off the background if people behind us are talking loudly. It really helps in bars and restaurants.

I think part of going to Costco is evaluating how you are with technology and whether you are a person who needs a lot of support. I get a lot of business from Costco . Mainly from people who went there and didn't get what they needed. I don't look at this as a reflection of their service - but some people need more individualized support and time, and from my experience, you sometimes may not get that there. I have no doubt that they have tons of happy users that saved some money and are doing great. I have friends that are very skilled and work there, but it is a bit of a different service model and they just aren't for everyone. That said- hearing aids have trial periods. Go try them from there and see if they meet your needs. If they don't, then you can find a private clinic and give it another whirl. As for the technology- the hearing aids are manufactured by major hearing aid companies and are fine quality. You likely won't get all the newest bells and whistles because the manufacturers need to capitalize on their new platforms in a short time but you will still get decent aids at a decent price.

My dh has hearing aids from Costco that are the Costco brand. He has been happy with them. It has a two year warranty and free adjustments. You can make adjustments yourself with an iphone if you have that phone. My dh believes it had a one year return policy I'm happy he can hear me.

My dad has ones from Costco. Free adjustments and they will replace lost ones for free within two years of purchase. He likes them.

My brother is very satisfied with his Costco hearing aids. He also has the ones that work through his phone. Costco has made adjustments and they have repaired/replaced his hearing aids at least twice with no charge. He sweats a lot and it shorts them out. They gave him a discount on a de-humidifier made just for hearing aids, recently. They were about $2000 less than the ones he got at the audiologist.

He has had so much support from the audiologist and he doesn't hesitate to go there to get things adjusted as his hearing has changed. That being said, he does buy his batteries from Costco. They are crazy cheap there and Dad says they last longer than other batteries. My husband had costco ones, and he didn't have to pay for any adjustments at all. They changed out the ear buds several times too. after he died, I donated them to my sister, and she went in, and they fixed them for her with new ear buds, and adjusted to her ears after a FREE hearing test. They are now not covered under the original warrantee, but she was given the option to renew that also. Not sure if she did.
My husband's worked well, when he used them. He, for some reason, was under the impression that he "really didn't need them." He did. It was a bit frustrating. We had excellent service from costco though. He had a hearing exam with a private company, and had an estimate of how much the hearing aid would cost--and my husband decided to go to Costco. After about a week, the original place called him back and said they could get him the hearing aids for much less than the original quote. My husband was mad becuase if they could have done that, why wasn't that the first estimate? It was a bit more cut and dry with Costco. They had a price list, and tried a few different brands, and chose the ones he liked the best.
good luck!!

Our cousin tells everyone she can how much she loves her Costco hearing aids. She previously had an expensive pair from Zounds and said the quality was not as good as the Costco (and the price as well).
