I love my flat sheet. I love the way sheets feel against my skin. I like to be cold when I sleep and rarely need a blanket. If I only had a duvet I’d die of a heat stroke.

We use the flat sheet as the bottom sheet.

Definitely a flat sheet. I am constantly changing temperature all night long, kicking all covers off, adding the sheet, adding the comforter. If I get rid of the sheet then at that middle temp between nothing and comforter the sheet is just right.

Definitely must have a flat sheet all year round. I like the way it feels against my skin and in the summer it's often all I use since it stays very warm in my house even with the a/c on.

I rarely sleep with more than a flat sheet and if I do it’s a thin blanket. Our comforter is just for show. The thought of a weighted blanket makes me feel suffocated.

We use a flat sheet so we don't have to wash the blanket every week. Much less work.

I use my flat sheets - saves washing the duvet cover so much.

Yes, Still use flat sheets, but I've started to use our flannel flat sheets all yr round, with a regular cotton fitted bottom sheet. Then the top flat sheet is more like a blanket. This is exactly what we started doing quite a few years ago. It’s like a very lightweight blanket in summer. In winter the flannel drapes around you nicely and seems cozy. I prefer to have some kind of cover, but I will take layers on and off during the night.

I haven’t used a flat sheet since I was 18 and living at home. I always use a comforter or a fuzzy blanket or both. Sheets just get tangled up in my feet and I hate having my feet trapped while I sleep.

I always use my flat sheet. I'm anxious for the fall/winter so I can use my cloud-like fleece set. So cozy.

No flat sheets! They just end up scrunched at the foot of the bed. Down comforters with duvet covers all around!

I always use a flat sheet. I sleep in my birthday suit and have to have the nice smoothness of a sheet against my body. Not a blanket, those go over the sheet (and I like several as I need the weight, my own version of a weighted blanket). Same here but I use an actual weighted blanket. It actually helps keep the sheet nice and neat. Otherwise, I like them tucked in well,on the bottom and on the lower part of the sides. Makes for a smoother sheet which is imperative. I’d rather fade and wear out my flat sheets than nice duvet covers.

I'll never ditch it. I'd rather wash the flat sheet weekly than a big blanket.

I use the flat sheet because I don’t like washing the duvet cover too much. Older dd sometimes uses a flat sheet. Younger dd 10 hates the flat sheet. I think she must have some sensory issues and it was too difficult for her if it was crumpled. Perhaps she gets them from me because I don’t like when it’s crumpled either but I keep mine smooth.

Yes we use the top sheet. Never occured to us not to. I think when duvets (comforters?) became the thing to use 'everyone' ditched sheets along with the blankets as duvets in a cover were simpler. We added a flat top sheet back into the equation because of the ease of changing that rather than a duvet cover every time, and also in warm weather it gives us the option of throwing the duvet off and just being covered by the sheet and as my temp fluctuates a lot during a night that's handy for me!

I’ve never used a flat sheet. I have a fitted sheet on the mattress and a duvet with a cover on for the top.

I know I could google it but what the heck is a duvet? And I use regular sheet in the summer and flannel in the winter. It's similar to a comforter but I would say more lightweight and fluffier than a US traditional comforter ( for the ones I have experience with in the US anyhow) There are different tog rates depending on the level of warmth you want and made from goose or duck down, you can also buy them with man made filling. You wouldn't need any blankets with what Europeans call a duvet. They're sold in plain white material so you can then buy the cover of your choice which is removable for washing. Without the cover. with a cover

We don’t use the flat sheet. I tend to push it down to the end of the bed with my feet. We each use a light weight blanket, DH may double up on them if he’s too cold.

We use the flat sheet. We have a huge thick King mattress and I love that the flat sheet seems to be extra big....the blanket on the other hand doesn't accommodate it very well. I really need to see if they have a lightweight oversized King blanket.

Always a flat sheet. I only use a duvet in winter and I have to sleep with something covering me. I don’t want to have to wash the top layer (duvet, cover, quilt) as much as the sheets. In the winter I love using flannel sheets.

My husband sweats in his sleep at times, even during winter. There is no way i would go without one, for that reason alone. Dry cleaning a quilt each week, no thanks.

Not gonna lie, I'm judgy if you don't use a flat sheet.
My husband and I stayed at an Airbnb that had 2 pillows, fitted sheet, comforter with a duvet, that was it. It was AUGUST. we stripped the comforter out of the duvet cover and just used that. I explained to the guy that he really needs more sheets/blankets and that when he just throws the duvet back on the bed, now someone is rubbing up against my husband's junk because he sleeps naked. No idea if that actually worked or not.

...we stripped the comforter out of the duvet cover and just used that. . So if comforter = duvet why don’t Americans call it a comforter cover?
