Anyone have any good resources for paring down your wardrobe and creating a somewhat casual and comfortable wardrobe. I have an annual membership to Get Your Pretty On and I know I won’t be renewing next year. While she has some good ideas and I try to make things my own much of what she puts together is not my style.
I know now her initial purpose was to get herself out of yoga pants but I still love my leggings. I was wearing kimonos way before this season (maybe she was too; I don’t really know.)
i like jeans, sneakers, black, t-shirts, leggings, flannels. I am girly but don’t like to put on makeup except for lipstick and mascara. My hair is usually purple but right now it has tinges of blue.
I don't really ally like the classics. Don’t put me in the blazer. I won’t wear a button down shirt unless it is open under a cami or tank. It snows a ton here in the winter so I am mostly in boots 5-6 months of the year.
I know now I rambled a bit but I was typing as I was thinking so if you would like to try and help that would be great. Thanks a bunch!

I've found when I search Pinterest for casual Winter or Fall capsule wardrobe I get the best results. Sometimes Stay at Home mom capsule wardrobe helps too.

I've always like this lady's website. Here's some legging ideas. I wouldn't wear the scarves. I know ankle boots are more trendy, but I prefer taller boots. This post was from 2018.

I think the best thing to do is stick with a favorite brand of clothing you like - clothes that are your style and fit you well. Then just buy a few outfits from them where most of the items go together. I probably buy 80% of my clothes from just a few brands.

My favorite posts from her are One Piece Many Ways. Not a Kimono, but has that look.

You are probably doing better than me fashion wise, but I wear mostly jeans & tees.
However, I do like cardigans over tee shirts. I have black, gray, navy, & red.
Then solid tees.
Paired with a dark pair of jeans, and sneakers or boots.
I only own earrings, so that's what I wear, but you could add jewelry of your choice.
I think the key to making a capsule wardrobe is to have a mix and match of similar pieces in a color range that can go together.

You might like a blog called The Mom Edit. I don’t know if they’ve touched on capsule wardrobes much, and they’ve become more monetized lately, but they have lots of useful posts on casual yet stylish outfit ideas for the 30s-40s demographic.

You are probably doing better than me fashion wise, but I wear mostly jeans & tees. I definitely don't have a great wardrobe either. My newest pieces consist of clearanced items when ShopKo went out of business. I have found I like tunics best and I prefer a 3/4 length sleeve. I am mostly all legs, so they fit me more like a long t-shirt that perfectly covers my butt. I like your style! I do have two or three long cardigans and definitely prefer them over the regular style. I prefer dark jeans too.
I need to get my ears pierced again because the holes grew in!

I’m trying to get rid of the things that I have that are old and out of style and only purchase new items that truly fit my aesthetic so to speak I guess. I want to open my closet in the morning and be happy about everything I have so it is easy to get dressed in the morning. I want less; not more. I think it is doable.

liya what sneakers do you like? Most of mine are on the practical side. Not terrible, but not all that cute.

Not terribly practical unless you consider the solid color ones practical. I have some patterned ones too. Paisley, skulls, Hello Kitty and my kids bought me the crocheted Converse for Mothers Day this year. I can wear sneakers to work so I wasn’t kidding when I said I wear them every day.

I’m 60 so they’re WAY younger than me but I’ve gotten useful fashion ideas from them. I think it’s good to get ideas from the youngsters as well as people my age. As long as you adopt ideas judiciously I think it helps keep your style fresh.

You might want to try paring down your basics to colors: either black/white/gray or beige, brown, ecru or something like that. Then go through your wardrobe and find things that can coordinate with that: prints, scarves, jewelry. Put the rest away somewhere and see if you miss any of it.
That's what I do, anyway, and it works. (I'm a black, white, gray person)

Would olive green work? I think I have a lot of that too. I’m always drawn to those three.

My basic colors are black, gray, and navy, but I love greens for color. I would be more likely to pair my olive stuff with navy. I’ve found clothes shopping to be so much easier once I narrowed down my basic colors
