How is it September already. I'm going to be crafting the rest of this long weekend. I have been shopping a lot so need to go back on a freeze. I have lots of projects I want to work on. I did just get from amazon a laminator. So kind excited to use the Deco foil gel and stencils to create some fun back grounds

I'm so not in the loop about this deco foil gel stencils technique, I'm intrigued! Foil gel sounds very cool! It's a busy weekend for my family and I'm so meh about everything because I am on fiya with my scrapbooking and all I want to do is ignore the house and garden chores, stay in my pjs and scrap in my newly cleaned and organized room. I go to bed with my old BPS class printouts and fall asleep with visions of layouts dancing in my head i Can I skip out on the pool party this afternoon and just send DH? Ahhh. I placed a small order at the Cherry On Top website. I've been making an inventory list of things I'd like while I scrap so I spent like $30 bucks but I got some really good stuff. Willow ephemera, some TH reinkers for my ancient first generation Distress Ink pads and a couple of County Fair themed papers. My Done to Death Apple Bread won a ribbon a few years back (Second) and I never did scrap the photos.

Holy cow, already September! 😀
I ordered August pics on the 27th, and received them on the 30th. It wasn't exactly a fun filled month, and I literally only ordered ten prints.
This morning I did some stamping for DD prep.
This week I'll be taking back to school pics for all my kids. Feels bittersweet.

I was supposed to scrap all weekend but I had to pick my DS up unexpectedly Friday night, then I had to drive him to college yesterday when originally my Ex was going to drive him. And today I’m at what I think is a surprise wedding. So no scrapping

I spent all morning sorting and organizing scrappy supplies that were literally ALL OVER my counters and floor in my scrap room. Found the photos that would go on the facing page to the one I did for today’s sketch. Remember putting said pics with the remnants of the papers I had used on that page. Finished with a little time to spare, and thought “why don’t I just DO that page”. But the photos and the papers have VANISHED! This is why I hate cleaning my room. I have moved a hundred things. Those pics and papers could be tucked away with any one of them...

I've made a start on an album for our trip to NM. We've been there several times (I dug out 5 NM albums ) so I'm going to do some serious messing around and try to do something a little different. I bought some horizontal 11x8 page protectors at TM a while ago by mistake and I thought I might mix them up with 12x12 pages...like every other one. Going to order a camping kit and maybe even throw in some pocket pages too. Looking forward to some experiments.

Cleaned my house on Friday while DH drove to Orlando to pickup DD19 from college (it's closed for Dorian) and have blocked out the rest of the long weekend for scrapbooking...a few errands with DH yesterday turned into a whole morning plus lunch out but I scrapped in the afternoon. This morning I did a little housework (laundry, sweeping, mopping) early while DH took the girls to horse riding and then we had Mass but I've been scrapping all afternoon.
Working on a travel album for DS - Mainland Japan. He took LOTS of photos so it's ending up with LOTS of layouts.

I made four 12x12 layouts yesterday and need to print out more photos to hopefully get some more done this week. After that, I will set aside the 12x12 scrapbooking for a while to work on cards and also this travelers notebook project I am in the midst of that documents a trip to California in June. I'm hoping for an Instax camera and some film for my birthday so I can go around my neighborhood and take photos of some of the gorgeous old Victorian homes and write about my neighborhood in another travelers notebook insert. I'm really digging the smaller format for the stories that don't seem big enough for a bunch of 12x12 layouts.

My DD in Orlando has called me 3 times in the last 2 days, it’s her first hurricane and she is getting anxious. I haven’t been able to focus on any crafty projects because other DD has the weather channel on nonstop.

Friday night I coloured my sheets of stamped images. Today I cleaned up a bit my room. Vacuumed , put things away and then proceeded to die cut the images I coloured. I have just started putting together some cards. I got 7 assembled. I signed up to a lawn fawn birthday card exchange. It's pretty awesome so I'm working on September's cards. Art journal class resumes next Sunday so I need to get my ATC cards done too. Theme is flowers or something like that. Nope that was last sept. This one is fall. Oh. I have a lawn fawn set that will work for that . Yesterday , DH and I went on a drive and we hppened to drive in the area of a lss it was 1.5 hrs away from home. They had the Winnie and Walter media mat. I was shocked and I bought it. There was a 20 percent off labour Day weekend sale too. So that worked out well too.
It's pushing midnight and I'm trying to go to sleep so I don't sleep in tomorrow cause then I won't go to bed tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to crafting more too. I need to get cards in the mail

I have my first (ever) guest designer spot up on the Cut To You blog today 😁 I have applied for a handful of design teams over the last twelve months. Although I've not made it onto any design teams, I am really happy to have been asked to contribute as a guest designer. There will be another one up mid-September. cuttoyou.com.au/2019/09/02/for-the-love-of-books-guest-designer-belinda-jane/

I’ve done a couple pages this weekend which makes me happy. But my biggest thrill is winning a $100 gift card on a Simon Says Stamp Instagram challenge. I can’t stop perusing, filling my cart, then starting again.LOL. It’s also just in time to maybe grab a goody or two from the Stamptember releases....I really like the critter crowd set. So cute.

I am 90% finished cleaning and organizing my scraproom. I always give up at this point and my room becomes a huge mess again after one project, so I'm determined to push through this time and get it totally done. I have to get rid of a few things in order to make room for some new stuff I bought, I don't purge nearly enough. I really have to think about if I will actually use some of that old stuff that I still have or if I'm just keeping it for sentimental reasons.
I used the Color My Life app to catalogue all of my stamp sets last week - wow, I have a lot of stamps, and I need to use them more. That's my goal going forward.

Dorian is messing with my Labor Day plans! Our house is shuttered up (is that a real saying?) and we are hunkering down for the duration of the storm. After I finish up some laundry this morning I plan on working on a few pages. I haven’t really scrapbooked in over a month and I’m excited! Hopefully we don’t lose power for too long... it’s 85-90 degrees outside and my house will turn into a sauna. 😭 Stay safe!

Are there any grab boxes/grab bags going in right now? I’m stuck inside and ready for some retail therapy!

stay safe craftymom101raining on and off here - looking like we won't get much from Dorian when he finally comes this way tomorrow or Wednesday - just some outer bands. But any shift west might change that so I'm watching carefully. UCF just announced they will be closed through Thursday - I'm hoping they just go ahead and close Friday also as it'll be easier to get DD back on a weekend. Local schools are closed tomorrow so far. BUT since my house is clean and we had no Labour Day plans (DH is napping, girls are doing their own thing), I'm scrapbooking...making progress on DS's Mainland Japan album - almost done with Kyoto Castle...not sure if I'll move on to the Kyoto Railway Musuem or switch to another album for a bit

Linda you’re closer to the west coast? We are about 8 miles from the beach/ocean and I’m 100% freaked out. I’ve been puttering around all day, not really sure what to do! I’ve taken several pictures of Hurricane Dorian Storm Prep and I intend on scrapbooking our adventure!

craftymom101 I hope you don't lose power. I could tolerate being cooped up if I could read, scrapbook, and play on my tablet. Best wishes for a miss from Dorian.

I’ve taken several pictures of Hurricane Dorian Storm Prep and I intend on scrapbooking our adventure! we're pretty central between the coasts - if you know where I-10/I-75 meet, that's about where I am - FPL is staging power trucks here (they always do) and the hotels are at capacity with evacuees from the coast/further south. We're inland enough that it's rare to get more than TS or Cat-1 winds but flooding can be an issue - TS Debbie back in 2012 flooded our area pretty significantly - my girls were canoeing on the driveway/easement. Prayers for you - hopefully Dorian will end up out at sea and not an issue in the end. I've been praying for the Bahamas - they've gotten slammed.
