I've been on the hunt for shoes like this for a year or more, not exaggerating. I need help if you feel like doing some looking around. I'm currently back on Zappos for the umpteenth time hoping the perfect pair present themselves. Here's the criteria: *Casual (not sneakers, not sandals, not loafers) black shoes. *Heel height of 1.25-1.75". Yes, that's very specific but I have some serious foot issues and know what heel height is least painful. *Wide width, or a brand that is known to run wide. *For fall and spring, so no open toes, but I'd like them to be lightweight-ish, and able to wear in temps from 55 - 75 degrees. Will mostly be wearing with casual dresses (with or without tights), leggings and a tunic, or skinny jeans. *Removeable insole if possible for my orthotics, though I've been known to tear out insoles that are not meant to be removed. *Do not look like old lady shoes. *Up to $225 - obviously I don't mind spending $$ on comfortable shoes that will last years. I really hate that so many shoe manufacturers do not make their shoes in wide widths. I've been a wide since childhood no matter my weight. I've suffered and stretched regular width shoes all these years and tried to make them work, but no more. My never ending thanks to anyone who can help me out

Ugh, I’m the same. Wide foot since birth it seems. And I feel like a lot of brands now are making their “wide” sizes with more room in the instep to accommodate pudgy feet rather than actually widening the footbed.
My go-to for the kind of shoes you describe is Clarks or Munro, but you have to wade through a lot of them to find some that aren’t too old lady. I’ve had good luck lately with Dolce Vita as well. (Brands I know to avoid because their “wide” is a C width instead of D - Dr. Scholl’s and Easy Spirit.) Alegria has had some shoes that I like, not just clogs. I’ll try to think of some more.
Good luck and please do share if you find anything. I think if you search those brands for a shootie you might find something you like.

I like Earth brand. I have found them in a store that specializes in quality comfort shoes. I teach and am on the linoleum all day-I need comfy shoes!
They have some wide sizes and the leather is very soft. I have 3 pairs of low booties that I wear to work and I also wore in Paris.
Good luck!

ETA: I kind of like the Heidi Cradles Thank you. I wonder if you sent me the correct link though as almost all are sandals and pumps? I did a search there with my criteria and came up with over 1,000. And I painstakingly went through them all and still didn't find the illusive unicorn I did find a cute pair of black sneaker-ish shoes and a black pair of shoeties tho. Haven't bought them yet as I'm going to look some more this evening.

It's a brand I've worn as well, in fact I have a pair of their boots that are about 5-6 years old. I did do a search earlier and went through everything in that brand and nothing seemed to fit the bill for me right now :/

Which is about 1,980 pairs too many for me to want to search. I hate hate hate shoes, and I can never find any that fit and that are comfortable. Which is why I just wear Crocs.

You can filter it down some more... that is just the filter for black/wide. You can filter for casual, black and wide to remove the dress, boots, sandals etc. I've been buying my shoes from them for about 3 years now. Never have had any miss fit. Their shipping is prompt and the brand qualities have all be great.

On this site the width selection is regular, medium and extra wide. The extra wide didn't offer much selection, but in the medium width there were some cute ones. linklink
