Ha, I wouldn't have been any help. I was picturing a pair of shoe sporting a unicorn horn. Well, you know, Halloween is coming up. Ha!

I put all your must haves in a Zappo's search: 161 results. Zappo search
ETA: I kind of like the Heidi Cradles That’s a good list. You can further refine it by checking “closed toe” at the bottom of the left list. I see some Lifestyle, Clark’s, and Taos on the list. Those are some of my favorite brands. If you have a tall instep, the Taos usually fit me. I wear a size 6 and between wide feet, a high arch and a high instep, shoes are almost impossible for me to find. And I’ve tried on some Rockport Cobb Hill ankle boots that were really nice and comfortable.

I found these. Probably not orthotic friendly, but cute and casual. Alegria Tarah

I think these check almost all your boxes! They do come in black, but they don't have a picture up. Just do a search on women's newton. The black ones are $79.90 right now! Earth shoes

Thank you all for your help and links, I appreciate it! I looked at well over 1000 shoes, and still did not find the UNICORNS. I got awfully close several times (I realize that my criteria is very limiting), but often the heel was too low or they did not come in a wide width.
I did buy 2 different pairs of black shoes (shooties and a kind of sneaker-ish shoe) and if they're comfortable then I'll probably keep them both pairs so I have something. Last fall ffor casula wear it was black canvas sneakers that were too low to be comfortable walking more than a mile or two (I walk to where I'm going a lot), or black tall boots. So at least this fall I'll have options other than tall boots!

Heel height for both of these are questionable, and my unicorn shoes would be a little more feminine than either of them Shootie: www.zappos.com/p/hush-puppies-mazin-cayto-black-nubuck/product/8745303/color/84Sneaker type shoe to replace my washed black canvas sneakers that are too flat to be really comfortable: www.zappos.com/p/naturalizer-cyan-black-suede/product/9106701/color/106

Have you found your ideal shoe design in a regular width?
Just curious what you want it to look like, ideally, plus or minus the wide width and heel height. We can keep an eye out as new styles come in!

try fit flops - I have a pair of their sneakers (black leather with a side tie - don't look like sneakers at all - wider fit and so so comfy) and these ones below are next on my list for work. I have just bought my youngest a pair of their ballerina wedge shoes for school and they are really comfy too - don't look great off but fab on! Attachments:

If those Hush Puppies are any where near as comfortable as my very old, very well worn, very loved Hush Puppies loafers, your feet will be happy. I would give my eye teeth to be able to replace my loafers with an exact pair, but I have never found them again.

Try Munro, “Cindi” pump. Heel height is 1 1/4”, removable insole, rubber soles & heels. Come in wide (D) and double wide (EE) widths. Fabric upper that stretches. You can wear these year round and dress them up or down. I can do 20+ hours in them in the hospital. You can walk and run in them. They have been so reliable, comfortable, and such a staple for me. I’m wearing my 4th pair. And they’re in your price range!

Are you open to boots? There is an Earth Origins ankle boot on special pre-sale on QVC today that has a 1.5 inch heel and comes in Wide sizes, 6-11 and regular up through 12. You might also want to check out other Earth and Earth Origins. I have quite a few pairs of these brands - don’t need wide, but I wear a size 12.

We can keep an eye out as new styles come in! Well that sent me down a big huge rabbit hole! I've stopped looking at regular width shoes since I can't wear them. I'll let y'all know if I see the unicorn shoes in a regular width

I would give my eye teeth to be able to replace my loafers with an exact pair, but I have never found them again. I'm really disappointed, the Hush Puppies in a wide width are not wide enough. I've never come across that problem. I've going to wear them in the house with some heavy socks for a while to see if they give enough to keep them.

I've never heard of shoemall.

Have you looked at Naot footwear? I have a pair of Mary Janes that fit your parameters except I’m not 100% certain if they do wide widths.

Another place to try is Sierra Trading Post, I think it's Sierra.com They carry some really comfy brands and many times in wide widths. Definitely worth a peek.

Check out all the fab shoes in the Aussie brand “Frankie 4 “ range I have several pairs several styles and they are all fab I think they have free worldwide shipping over $100 AUD as well so with the Curren exchange rate for AUD being so crappy they are good value for you www.frankie4.com.au

Sometimes I'm a 7.5W and sometimes an 8W so I typically buy both and return the one that doesn't fit. It becmes a major pain when I'm debating between two pairs of shoes. I order a total of 4 pairs, to only keep 1. Boy, I feel like I've really laid out my constant search-for-shoes issues in this thread. Y'all know a LOT about them now!

You are absolutely 100% right. I swear I've looked at all the black shoes on Zappos, Nordstrom, 6pm, QVC, Shoes.com and a couple of the other sites recommended and I keep circling back to booties or shooties. And all three of those caught my eye I've ended up ordering these yesterday (instead of the Hush Puppy shootie that didn't fit right). Pikalinos are typical wide enough to fit me <fingers crossed> www.zappos.com/p/pikolinos-rotterdam-902-8775-black/product/8741310/color/3

I like these. They seem to hit your must-haves. I think they'd be cute with skinny jeans or black tights. Munro Francee
