We used to live in a more rural area and pizza and take out were not an option. Some people are on special diets and require modifications so I can see having quick food in the freezer as a God send. Stay at home moms have bad days too. No judgement from me, I wish my emergency meals were homemade and not chicken nuggets and French fries!

It doesn't really work that great for us being a family of two and DD13 being a picky eater. When she was younger we even tried those meal places where you go and buy 6-8 meals for X dollars and then you put it together in freezer bags at the storefront, then go home and put it in your freezer until you are ready to use it. She just never got used to those types of foods that freeze well. But I love the idea.
During the school year when she has circus arts training and homework most nights, when we can eat dinner at home we have easy stuff like pork chops, chicken, salmon, bratwurst, easy homemade pizza with storebought dough. Then on the weekends we get a little more fancy.

Awww, the good ol' days. I used to get together with my bestie when our girls were small and have a "Feed the Freezer" day once every three months or so. So much work but so much fun doing it together... lasagnas, meatloaves, tons of chicken dishes, desserts, breakfast casseroles, etc. Our girls are all grown and on their own and the four of us (bestie/hubby, me/hubby) don't eat the same way that we did when the girls were growing up so we don't feed the freezer anymore... In fact, I gifted our big upright freezer to a young couple from Church because we just didn't use it anymore. They were thrilled to get it and our refrigerator freezers (one in our kitchen, a smaller one in our garage) are just enough for any frozen foods now days.

I did batch cooking when I had kids, even teens, at home. Don't understand how it is lazy or what kid lunches have to do with it. Cooking 5 pounds of ground beef then cleaning the skillet, and dividing it up was faster than cooking 1 pound each night and having the clean the skillet each night. It gave me back some time to do things that were a higher priority to me than standing in front of the stove all afternoon ever afternoon. I needed to drive my kids to practice/games or whatever.
I"m single, live alone and still do a fair amount of batch prep/cooking on week ends so my week days are less hectic. I'm not going to judge a mom for how she spends her time or does her cooking.

I used to when the kids were younger. Now, I just make a meal and if there are leftovers, we eat it until it's gone. I'm not a good meal planner at all. It's my least favorite 'job'. This is me as well. I certainly don't plan it but sometimes it does happen and while it is nice to find something ready in the freezer it is not something I would spend time on planning.. my meal planning happens when I get to the supermarket to buy it 😳

It wouldn't let me select more than one option.
Yes, I do batch cooking in our slow cooker. Yes, I freeze leftovers. Yes, I freeze items to help with quick dinners.
We both get home around 7:45pm 3 times a week. If I started cooking from scratch then, I would be past hunger by the time it was ready, and would still be digesting at bedtime. I cook so that our meals are ready to be eaten as soon as we've changed out of our work clothes.
ETA: "lazy"? How is that lazy? Getting takeaways delivered could be described as lazy, but how is preparing your own nutritious meals ahead of time? OP can you explain?
