I wanted to be a "stewardess" as a child, but it turns out, I HATE flying. I would love to take just enough Xanax and be a flight attendant for a quick flight..Here are the EXITS and some pretzels... from Vegas to Orange County (40 min), and then go to Disneyland to recover.

We have 2 cotton candy machines.
I want to go hunt for gem stones. I've tried panning for gold with no luck. Hope I could do better finding some gems.

I'd like to learn the saxophone and learn to fly a plane. The first one is a possibility, but I would be too afraid to do the second one. I dated a pilot at one point in my youth and he did let me fly and take off, but I was too afraid to do the landing. Plus they had to do the weightless maneuver and the spin and I COULD NOT do that for sure. Maybe I could do one of those fly suits instead.

I used to want to learn to fly a plane. Now I'm too chicken. I always wanted to lead a tour like the old tours at Universal. I'm a ham and that always looked like fun.

More dumb than odd. I'd love to live in an area with a great selection of restaurants. I am an adventurous eater, but too lazy to drive far for food.

What an interesting thread! You asked for ODD things, which I really don't have (wow, I'm boring! ....hee hee!) But my lifelong DREAM is to play piano !!!!!! After reading all the responses, I came up with something related to your OP---driving a zamboni. It'd be fun to ride around on, and satisfying to see the ice pristine and smooth again. ----------------------------------------------- I’d like to be in the committee at the car manufacturer who gets to NAME the cars. Like Sentra, Renegade, Malibu... it just seems like fun. You reminded me of my friend who owns a million lipsticks and jokes that her next career will be coming up with fun names for them. ------------------------------------------------------------------- My sister and niece use nail polishes that have VERY silly /witty names and we've tried to come up with similar ones. I had to google, and for example--- OPI has one called " I have a herring problem"

Plus they had to do the weightless maneuver and the spin and I COULD NOT do that for sure. Maybe I could do one of those fly suits instead. Like you, I've done that...sort of. When I was a teen, my father took private flying lessons and got his pilot's license. He was a member of a flying club and paid a fee to take rental planes up for personal use so we did this as a family sometimes on nice weather weekends. My Dad would let my brother and I each take a turn sitting in the co-pilot's seat and take over the controls while he coached us through EXACTLY what to do (and could take over if needed at any given time). These were small twin-engines, not commercial jetliners or anything. Anyway, I remember how fun it was when I got to line it up with the runway and land it one time (pretty sure Dad was mostly the one controlling the throttle...or at least maybe guiding my hand or something). Just flying and making turns was also fun. I can remember landing it but can't remember whether he let me do a takeoff too. Definitely did NOT do anything like spins or anything fancy... I've always wanted to learn to sail. I've been sailing with others a few times. A couple of times where I didn't have to do anything and a crew did the actual work, but once or twice where the people-who-knew-how-to-sail yelled out instructions "hold this - tight", "wrap this around that", "DUCK"...whatever, LOL. It was so much fun and exhilarating, but it'd be nice to actually learn what I was doing. That's something I'm thinking of doing when I actually retire. There are several sailing schools near me so it's actually do-able. I'd have to start saving though, bc I think it's pretty expensive... ETA: would also LOVE to drive/ride the Zamboni, bonus if it was for a CAPS game

Yup, I've decided....After learning to drive a zamboni (ha ha!), I'm going to get a job as a nail polish namer. It was bugging me to remember, so I had to keep googling. The best OPI nail polish name my sister had was called " Don't PRETZEL my buttons!" It was especially funny to us, because we always analyze/ discuss people who know how to "PUSH our buttons" to manipulate/ annoy us!

I'd like to be the driver for a car commercial. I love to drive and the roads they drive on look like so much fun. I was at a science meeting in Aspen or Snowmass (can't remember) and the venue planned a little picnic in the mountains and there was a film crew filming a car commercial with helicopter. Pretty cool!

Murfreesboro, Arkansas has a field where you can dig for diamonds. I've always wanted to do the driving school at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut where they teach you to drive really fast.

He'd rent them so we could go different places, usually fairly local (just a couple of hours by car or 4-5 hours by car). I'm sure he was really the one to do the take off as well. ExB did do the spins and maneuvers with me in the plane but I don't know how they pay attention to those controls while in the midst of those things.

I always want to just organize store shelves.. It's so weird. I had to do it a little when I worked at my grocery store.. but I loved to do it.. I think they called if Facing. I would work PT just to do this. HAHA. I got two different offers this week for a job at Tuesday Morning. They leave the carts out on delivery day and I always start putting stuff on the pegs. Both managers (at two of my stores) asked me if I would just want to come in once a week to help for 4.5 hours. Ha.

I would like to live with wolves for a week. I hate camping, but I figure that hanging out with wolves would be worth it.
I also reallllly want to get in a shark cage and swim with great whites. I tell myself they just come up to the cage asking to borrow sugar.
I'd also like to feel what it is like to travel to the moon. Maybe just take off. I couldn't sit for three days.

I would like to:
A. use one of those cotton candy machines-- move that cardboard cone around in the drum to gather the bundle of spun sugar
B. spray that expanding foam insulation they use on houses
How about you? I was going to add: making my own soft-serve ice cream cone, like at Dairy Queen, but *surely* I've done that at some Jason's Deli or Western Sizzlin' at some point...
Come on over! I'll let you spin cotton candy all day, my husband is about to spray insulate two buildings and my aunt has worked at dairy queen for 22 years!

I'd like to join a marching band. I always wanted to be a drum majorette 😀 I was a majorette. So much fun! And later I taught baton twirling classes for years. My dd is a figure skater and … I want to drive the Zamboni! I also want to spray paint a message on the ice. Such a blank white slate... just begging for a vivid colorful message. lol My dad and I volunteered a day of service for my high school marching band fundraiser at a local theme park. He got a broom and little trash bin on a stick in a shady area.. I was assigned making funnel cakes in a tiny trailer in direct sun. OMG. Never in a million years would I do it again. I had powdered sugar all over me from head to toe. Even my eyelashes were sticky with sugar. It melted and coated everything in the heat! As I went for my lunch break bees and wasps swarmed me. I imagine cotton candy making to be the same!

I’d love to be able to tap dance. Given that some days I can barely walk to my car, and that dancing has never been my thing, it just isn’t going to happen. I'd love to tap dance, too! Considering the condition of my hips and knees, and plantar fasciitis, it's not going to happen, but it looks like so much fun! I'd love to drive a car around a race track but I don't think I have the nerve to go as fast as I'd need to go. A NASCAR track about an hour from us had a fundraiser years ago, that you could drive your own car around the track, and I almost did it, but didn't go. I regret not taking that chance. As far as I know, the opportunity hasn't been repeated.
