Ring Around the Collar! Ring Around the Collar! Oh my lord I hated that commercial. I think it was for Whisk or some other laundry product. It was supposed to get the dirty ring off of the inside of collars. That sing songy sound was just awful.

I can still sing bits of the Frito Bandito ad from the late '60s/early '70s. I also remember an ad that Jimmy Durante did for Kelloggs back then (I think it was for what was called Frosted Flakes in the US). What makes this weird is that I only spent three years of my childhood in North America - lived the rest of my life in Australia. Brains are funny things. It IS amazing, isn't it? Especially since you were only here 3 years! Like many others have said, I WISH I could remember IMPORTANT things, especially when I was studying for exams in college ! Yet, I can also still sing that Frito Bandito song and SO MANY others from my childhood. How funny you mentioned that one---I was just singing it to my friend the other day, and it bothered her that she does NOT remember it at all.
I also remember that in the multi-packaged boxes of Fritoes, they had fun erasers of the Bandito in different colors, which my friends and I collected. Someone posted Enjoli ......Yeessss, I still remember it and have made people LOL singing it with an extra sultry voice I can bring home the bacon (ba nah nah nah ) Fry it up in a pan (paaaaan) And never, ever, ever, ever let you forget you're a MAN 'Cuz I'm a WOMAN (wuuuu-mun)! ENJOLI !!
.....okay, who sang along to this with me?
-------------------------------------- Ring Around the Collar! Ring Around the Collar! Oh my lord I hated that commercial. Ugh, me too! The voice was very whiney and annoying!

The Polaroid commercials with James Garner and that woman that everyone thought was his wife because they got along so well. Loved seeing new ones of that one come out. They were very engaging.
Just looked it up - her name was Mariette Hartley.

I remember that commercial!! Somewhere I even have an old 45 record of the official song. Was watching the Donna Reed show this morning and a commercial for Brylcreem came on. It was a little before my time and I started wondering what old commercial I remembered and thought of the Coke one where everyone is singing I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. What old commercial(s) do you remember?

Another one, because you guys keep jogging my memory... the McDonald’s piano recital one.
Oh I wish I were already there, instead of here, playing this song. I would have a big chocolate shake a cheeseburger and also whoops and also fries and I would eat the fries myself and not give any to my dumb brother ...

I think the most annoying commercial ever was those two little girls saying “it’s Shake n Bake and we helped.”

This is my only party trick..... from memory: Have you ever struggled with a hand held trimmer? You'll just love what this revoluntionary new DR Trimmer on Wheels can do for you and your property. Just look how easy it rolls on those two big wheels and glides in any direction on this front-mounted mow bar. There's no steel blade to bend or dull. It cuts tall grass, waist-high weeds, even wet grass in rough areas with never before ease.

Timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. And they kept doing horrible things to those poor watches.
And what was the cereal some animal kept trying to sneak, and would always get caught?

One that sticks in my head - and I have no idea why, because I was about 3 when it aired is a M&Ms Easter commercial from the early 80's that ended with the tagline "Thanks, Easter Bunny!" "Bok-Bok!"

Awww, I remember most of the aforementioned.
I absolutely LOVED the electric razor (brand name? Maybe Gillette?) that would come racing down the snowy hillside like a snowmobile. It must have only played at Christmas time because I remember always getting excited that Christmas was near when I saw that commercial!

Southern California- how about those Cal Worthington car commercials. I think they only played on the weekends. And his dog, Spot! When I was a kid, I thought they were singing "pussy cow" and not "go see Cal". All my friends thought so too. It made absolutely no sense. And speaking of old So Cal car commercials: "Pete Ellis Dodge, Long Beach freeway, Firestone exit, Southgate" (or the Bellflower "sequel")
