Today I'm finally getting the nerve block that will numb the pain from my broken tailbone. Riding in the car will be doable, once again. As much as it sounds icky, I'm really excited about not being in pain when I sit down. Dinner will be rechauffe or takeout. Yds and dh can decide what their tummies want for dinner.
What's on your menu?
Wishing our tribe a delightful weekend.

scrapmaven, bless you! Or, as we say in the south, bless your heart! We're having grilled tri-tip steaks although when I go outside to grill I might regret the decision. Going to be mid 90's today.

Sending huge healing hugs and prayers to you, my sweet leader scrapmaven . Tonight we are having rechauffe and today I am making blueberry bread to taste test; because I am making several loaves to bring to church on Sunday.

scrapmaven thank goodness you will get some pain relief. We all think we have a pita but you have truly had a pita. destined2bmom I want to taste test the blueberry bread. If it's good, please share the recipe! I am supposed to make broccoli cheddar chicken tonight. But I dreamed about tacos last night and it has stuck with me all day.

I was uninspired when I went to the market this morning and came home with boring ol' boneless chicken breasts. I'm still not very inspired so I will be making a creamy chicken bake and roasted vegetables. I read yesterday's thread but totally forgot to post. Sucks getting old some days. For the spreadsheet, we had a turkey-hash brown casserole. scrapmaven, I'm glad you will finally have some relief of the pain.

I have had a long day today, with my friend's funeral, but finally am back home. The Mass and burial were at a small town about 1.5hours south of Munich, and I was able to catch a ride with someone else from our church. It was all very beautiful - the church, decorations, readings and hymns and some of the German traditions they incorporated (eg: we walked from the church to the cemetery) were lovely touches.
DH and DH are almost home from France, but called about half an hour ago to say they were stuck in a major traffic jam due to an accident, about 20 minutes from home. Last we heard, they are moving again, so it should't be long.
With all of this, dinner is a bit up in the air. I had bought some chicken breasts and veggies to do a sheet pan, but we are leaning towards the local pizza shop at this point.

I am drowning in rechauffe. Really. A giant pot of chicken noodle soup the kid begged for and then ate half a bowl of. I seem to be incapable of making small pots of soup. Now I’m begging the neighbor to take some. There’s more, but I won’t bore you any further. Just know, I will be eating this stuff all weekend and there will still be rechauffe come Monday. I’d better freeze some things. scrapmaven, I’m glad the doctors finally made some time for you. Hope you feel better fast.

I'm glad you are getting some pain relief, scrapmaven. jeremysgirl, sueg, I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you were able to make the funeral. I'm planning on a fend for yourself night. DH is going to be home tonight, but away for the rest of the weekend and I want the fridge cleaned out before he goes so I don't toss a bunch of food on Monday. My only plans for today are a carwash and pedicure.

scrapmaven Hope the nerve block does the trick and you're feeling better real quick! Think I'll pop some fishsticks in the oven, make a green salad, and add in some rechauffe pasta salad too.

scrapmaven I hope you get lots of relief with the nerve block! I’m regretting my decision to wait for a cortisone injection in my knee yesterday. My fall destroyed anything that prevented bone on bone friction and it hurts! Dumb move on my part. Dh is feeling a bit better today and we went to Red Robin for lunch which will be dinner as well, I’m sure. There’s rechauffe for dd and dgd who both thoroughly enjoyed the pasta I cooked yesterday.

Hoping it gives you lots of relief scrapmaven !! Today is my Moms birthday so I'm taking her to a dinner spot we love downtown called Laffa, its a nice Mediterranean style restaurant. After that I'm taking her to a gallery to see the Jason Lee photo exhibit. And finally on the way home taking her to get some of her favorite gelato at STG.

I feel tonight will likely be a YOYO night. I've got some cooked shrimp in the freezer that I'll defrost and eat with cocktail sauce.

Tonight DH will have those burgers we didn't grill last night. I'm thinking about a veggie quesadilla for myself.
scrapmaven, so good to hear you might feel some relief where it counts soon!
I meant to share this earlier. My dad made a Little Free Library for my school. I painted it and DH painted the alligator on the roof. It sits outside the cafeteria and the kids have been loving it.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying beef with noodles along with some roasted carrots........
Yesterday we went to the county fair (advertised as the largest county fair in the US) 30 miles away (not our county). We had Tom Thumb donuts and a funnel cake. We did not eat supper at the fair after the other half of we made it known he would be cooking tonight (the only way he ever cooks is take out)......so we got home and low and behold he grilled skinless philly brats........absolutely nothing to go along with them though.........I waited on the couch for my supper......LOL
Happy Dance Friday the 13th Everybody!

I spent the day with my friend catching up. It’s been 9 years since we’ve been in Paris together so much to talk about. We had intended to meet up at the Parthenon, but there was a massive transit strike today so we stuck closer to my Hotel. Ended up at l’Orangerie enjoying Monet’s Water Lillies. My favorite museum in Paris! Found a little cafe and had a late lunch. So dinner tonight was a prosciutto/Parmesan starter and a glass of rose by the fireplace in the lobby. Very relaxing evening! scrapmaven - glad you are going to get relief for your pain. I’ve had a cracked tailbone in the past and it is no fun. tuesdaysgone - what an adorable little library box!

We celebrated our oldest grandson's 12th birthday and dinner was his choice - so we had hotdogs with bacon, fried onion and bacon with sauce of your choice. Meatballs together with chips and gravy was second choice. Chocolate cake was dessert.
He enjoyed dinner and was happy with his presents so a good night was enjoyed by all.

scrapmaven -- Yea for the miracles modern medicine can provide. Here's hoping relief is immediate and long-lasting. tuesdaysgone -- Cute little library. Love that you combined all the family talents to produce it. I'm keeping a long-standing family tradition of not cooking on Friday. We'll be contributing to the success of a yet-to-be-determined restaurant. Happy Friday to all, even if it is the 13th!

Trying to work out travel and funeral logistics and dealing with my sister, who is being very difficult, my dad who is overwhelmed and distraught, and my mom who wants to butt in even though they’ve been divorced for 43 years. So we are having Chik Fil A tonight.

tuesdaysgone, I love the free library. We had a layover in Philadelphia and I was thrilled to see a "leave a book/take a book" library there. I'd never seen one at an airport before. used2scrap, hugs as your family goes through the funeral planning. Happy birthday to your DGS, hannahruth, and your mom, PolarGreen12!

It’s the awesome downtown spot with the best vibe and amazing wood fired pizzas and really yummy apps and beverages. After we are going to The Revue. It’s the great gay bar that has a full on Drag Shownon Saturday nights. It’s like Tulsa’s very own Bird Cage.
