I have the punches to make my own “paperkins” & most of set of clothes, hair, shoes too. My kids used them back in the day. My girl scout troop used them. I’m not sure I ever used them in a page but I have used them in card, most recently last year ( I still have them just in case? ) I have the Punchkins punches too...so many punches...hair, clothes, shoes! I love them but don’t know if they ever made it onto a page. I love them and will keep them. I also have the EK alphabet punches. I should use them more often, it’s a great font.

Rounding ALL the corners. Prima flowers. I still have several bottles rattling around in a drawer somewhere taking up space. I also had a phase where I used lots and lots of ribbon. I loved it at the time. Now when I look at those layouts I have a good chuckle. Making mini albums. I have a basket full of different styles of mini albums. Remember the mini albums made from a flattened toilet paper roll? My niece made one for me!

I think the one thing that I absolutely had to have and it was pain in the backside to get was the Creating Keepsakes foam stamp set. It had a lot of pieces in it, over 100 if I can remember correctly and it was expensive, took forever to get to Australia and it is a sizeable amount of stuff to store......and would you believe I have used it maybe 3 or 4 times I also had a thing for the Making Memories foam stamps, I did use them a few more times than the CK ones. I have kept the flowers and the floral but I recently gave a friend of mine who is really into her mixed media all of the alphas that I had, surely they are due for a comeback soon

linda you must have started scrapping when I did. I had no stash yet so I bought pretty much all of those things. I remember the Coluzzle cutting system. I had a bunch of those since there weren’t many circle or oval cutters I could find. I also had one of the alpha sets but it was really hard to cut. And you had to use their swivel knife. Heritage pages in grays and sepia tones. I bought papers and embellishments but never used them since I like colors. MM foam stamps used with acrylic paint. It looked so nice in the magazines and so blobby on my pages. Threw those 2 layouts away and gave the pictures new layout homes. I loved the mini albums and only quit when I started to run out of storage space. This thread made me go look at my really old pages. I like to see how my style has changed over the years.

Trends? I still have CM stuff from the 90's! I got into modern scrapbooking through a CM party.
I have always been into making titles. First using the lettering templates (Pebbles lettering templates which was later bought by EK Success, ScrapPagerz, ProvoCraft, Frances Meyer), then came letter punches, then came the Sizzix (QK, Accucut) alphabet dies, then Cricut cartridges...
Reading all the scrapbook magazines (Memory Makers, Creating Keepsakes, Paper Kuts, Ivy Cottage Creations, Scrapbooks Etc.)
Then after reading the magazines I started submitting to the magazines, did get published a few times but I really wasted a few years not getting much scrapbooking done because I was trying to stay on trend and buying stuff that wasn't my style.
Took a few years off from scrapbooking and then when I came back thought I would try Project Life, found out I prefer just scrapbooking regular 12x12 pages but still trying to use those cards (why did BH have to have so many repeat cards with the same design?)
Now I only buy what I love and am really trying not to spend. Just started watching the RTS videos I found out about here and they are motivating me to use what I have which is my goal.

They are still pretty popular in the mixed media world. I think Art Foamies even offers a monthly subscription. I would buy more but they are kind of expensive imo.

I absolutely adore the SOS videos which "allow" me to cherry pick a few papers out of a collection that is new, then shop my stash for similar paper, thus making the collection. Brilliant and I am using up my stuff!

I started back in 1996.
I was the “duchess of decorative scissors” as dubbed by another Pea. I was good. I did beautiful borders with my deco scissors, and more.
I did punch art.
I did paper piecing.
I did paper dolls.
I did mini albums, but not toilet paper roll minis because of the “ick” factor.
I still occasionally do paper piecing and mini albums, but not often, and none of the rest.

Fun reliving all these old supplies! Ah..I am another who had to have every color set of the Making Memories paints. I just tried reviving all of them by adding water, they all got thick and ikcy. I haven't tossed them but I should. I still have a bin full of the foam alpha stamps too. I haven't stamped on a layout in ages. IDK if I'm going to. This is on my KonMari list of things I need to purge lol.

They are still a great product and I really should get them out to have a play, the MM flowers are still gorgeous in my eyes.

My old red sizzix, letter templates, Xyron machine, and the Making Memories metal stuff. Even though I have the Vagabond now, and the Cameo, I cannot bring myself to part with Old Red and some of the huge dies. So many memories of my kids cutting with me and the dies that they liked when they were little. This thread makes me sad. Years ago, did not have the extra cash to follow many of the trends, especially if I could not get the 40% off coupon. But, oh my goodness, the HOURS spent looking at ALL THE THINGS. Looking in the physical scrapbook stores, looking through all the delicious magazines, old Two Peas. The variety and inspiration!!!!! Most product now looks like it could be designed by the same person, and it is all online.

Brilliant and I am using up my stuff! Me too, that's what I am going to try to do from now on. Paper is what I love most about scrapbooking and I have so much, that way if I just buy 1 or 2 new pieces of a collection I love I can match it with what I already own to use up my paper "inventory" (as Janet calls it).

I know a lot of you will think I'm nuts but October Afternoon paper. Had to have them but have I used them? Nope. I have discovered cutesy isn't my style.
Remember that circle cutter that you would have to use it on glass? Bought that one twice because the first time I failed with it and got rid of it. Bought it again because I thought it was user error. Nope, still sucked.

I still use this punch all the time! I have a border punch that is a tiny version of this design that I picked up at the LSS garage sale.
The biggest "craze" I got into when I first started scrapbooking in 1995 and I had to have ALL the 12 inch Mrs Grossman border stickers. Remember the ones with the rainbow thin colored lines and the long leaf border.
Fun thread down memory lane.

I had no idea what the Threading Water punch was and I own it! LOL! HAHAHA me too! I remember the name "Threading Water" from when it was all over the boards, but I didn't remember which punch it was. I looked at the video you posted, and I thought, "THAT's the famous Threading Water punch???" I don't remember whether I already had it before the craze, or whether I jumped on the bandwagon at its peak, or whether I got it after the craze had ended. Here's the best part: I still use it.

Cutting photos into shapes.
Collecting ribbons but not using them enough and sticker sneeze. To be fair, I started srapbooking in 1995 and there were few embellishments available.

LavenderLayoutLady I almost wrote mulberry paper too. I still have a lot of my paper and still look for it. Mulberry paper is so pretty and elegant. @kendramage OMG Do I ever remember the great Menard's deals on Cricut cartridges. At the time my city did not have Menards. I lived vicariously through all the Menard's threads. You were all so lucky. Menard's still has Cricut items around the Holiday season. One of the model scaling forums I read the guys are always grabbing Cricut Explore's during Menard's Black Friday sales. Other trends mentioned- Tags- Forever and ever with me. Paper Piecing- I will love it for life. I think I do at least five paper piecings a month. Deco Scissors- Still use mine. I will give myself a nod. I am good with them. I can make some fancy borders.

I definitely jumped on the Threading Water punch I don't know this one! Now I have to go look, lol. Threading Water was my first and best. I remember being on the CK boards and everyone was in a frenzy because it was sold out everywhere. I literally read about it, went to my local ACMoore and found a huge stock of it, and I used a coupon to boot. It was the moment that I learned that apparently no one scrapbooks in NYC.
