Laneige lip sleeping mask! It comes in original berry, apple lime or vanilla. All work great! Sephora sells it. This stuff is great! I got a sample in my Sephora Play box and I love it!

Carmex. I discovered it when I lived at 7K feet in Colorado in a town so dry that furniture has been known to fall apart because the glue at the joints becomes brittle and the wood so dry that it shrinks. Carmex was the only thing that worked. I still use it. The stuff in the little tub is best, followed by the liquid in the tube.

I was always partial to Carmex, but dont' seem to have as much of a problem here in dry Colorado now that I doubled my water intake.

I suffer from dry lips, especially in the winter. 90% of the time it’s due to not drinking enough water. When I make a point to drink more water they clear up quickly. Until then, I use Carmex (in the pot) during the day and A&D ointment at night.
I also suffer from a stress reaction (like getting hives) except it’s my lips and they get swollen and itchy with super fine blisters that outline my lips. Then I eat Benadryl, which causes dehydration, you see where this is going... This lip thing started after I had chemo/radiation and I have no idea if that is the cause or just a new fun issue of middle age.
I swear by Bag Balm for my feet and hands in the winter. I need to try it on my lips.

DH uses old fashioned carmex, the one that comes in the squeeze tube. He puts it on before bed and it takes care of his chapped lips.

I feel you. I had the same problem for years and tried a lot of the suggestions on this page. I tried Carmex, Chapstick, Coconut Oil, Sugar treatment stick and Sugar treatment lip scrub (you get it at Sephora), Eos lip balm, Burt's Bees lip balm, and so many more. One time I found this product at Whole Foods and bought it trying once again for help for my ultra dry lips: Dr. Bonner's Organic Lip Balm. The second I swiped it across my lips I knew it was different. I felt a ton of moisture on my lips and it was so soothing. The biggest bonus-I no longer have dry lips and I don't even use it every day! I this product and it's inexpensive too-I pay I think less than 2 dollars for a stick at Whole Foods, if I'm remembering correctly. I buy the peppermint flavor-my WF only carries peppermint and unflavored, but on Amazon you can get a 4 pack of assorted flavors for $11.95-they have Lemon-lime, Orange Ginger, Peppermint and Naked. This lip balm is different. It contains only a little beeswax (which honestly to me feels drying) or petrolelum based products like chapstick. What it does contain is in order: Avacado Oil, Jojoba seed oil, beeswax, peppermint oil, hemp seed oil and tocopherol. I think it's all of these oils that moisture your lips. Not to mention that it's certified organic, not animal tested and non-GMO. What I know is that it has worked for me and has really changed my ultra dry lips to lips that now feel healthy. I'm so happy I found this product. I haven't sprung for the Amazon 4 pack yet. For now (I've been using this for the past 2 years) I'm happy with the peppermint flavor. Oh, and by the way, this works fantastically as a base for lipstick. If you decide to try it I hope it helps you.

I buy a tube of Lansinoh. It’s nipple cream so you’ll find it in the baby aisle. It’s lanolin and I squeeze it into a little tub (like for putting pills in, a travel size container) for throwing in my purse.

Laneige lip sleeping mask! It comes in original berry, apple lime or vanilla. All work great! Sephora sells it. We got the original last year and my 3 daughters and I shared. We got little containers from The Container Store and divided it up. I want Apple Lime! That sounds amazing!

Another vote for lanolin - I buy the tube from the baby aisle and use it at night, travel mates made fun of me until we ended up at an event with no heat in 20degree weather - and then they all wanted to use some! I have some allergies and can put very few things on my lips, this is one that works for me. Hijack - have you had luck treating this or finding a cause at all? I've been having lip swelling for almost 4 months and have been working with an allergist. No luck finding a cause but claritin/zantac combo 4x a day has finally helped.

I googled it and Target has it, so I will try there as it's close. Peppermint sounds good!

I use the unflavored because anything with peppermint or menthol bothers my lips. I didn't like the orange-ginger but haven't seen the lemon. I bet I would like how that tastes but don't know if it would dry out my lips.

I swear Candy Cane Chap Stick is the only thing that doesn't dry my lips more. I have to ask if the Vicks Vaporub ladies are Puerto Rican? Every Puerto Rican person I know believes Vicks cures all, like the dad with the Windex in My Big Fat Greek Wedding .

kachilyn I have not figured out the trigger. It started about a month after I finished all cancer treatment. It usually shows up when I’m really stressed. This time it started as soon as I walked into my MIL’s house. She has a cat, but we’ve been to her place and stayed with this cat before. We spent a week with my MIL and it never went away. As soon as we got on the road home they finally stopped burning and tingling. I was so miserable up to that point. My SIL said she gets the itchy swollen lips from pine pollen when she goes to Nashville. My mom developed horrible allergies in her 50’s. Now she can’t be around any animals. I worry about going that route. Other than penicillin I’ve never had any allergies. I’ve never asked my doctor for a dx since it happens so rarely.

I only use Chapstick Green Apple Flavor It has a different, more moisturizing formula. Apply right before bed. No chapped lips here anymore!

I just recently bought some Jack Black, but it isn't quite as good as I had hoped for overnight. I am hoping to try some of these other products mentioned.

I almost never get chapped lips and I think this is because I'm a compulsive lipgloss applier. I literally have a dedicated pocket in my bag for 15 tubes of lipgloss. I always apply before going outside, and I use Bonne Bell Lipsmackers right before bed. If I do get chapped after being out on a windy winter day, I wear something very emollient into the shower.

This isn't going to be popular, but the Mary K satin lips set works for me in the winter time. I've managed to make my little set last a couple of years now. My lips get horribly chapped in the winter and it works wonders getting the dead skin off and keeping them moist. I also keep satin hands in my shower. The only 2 MK products I use, but they work!

Why not popular? It’s a good product. I liked it better in the previous iteration with the balm in the little pot, I don’t think it’s as good as the green tea one now. But it’s a good product too.

Laneige lip sleeping mask! It comes in original berry, apple lime or vanilla. All work great! Sephora sells it. 100% agree. It lasts forever too. (The little applicator that came with mine is almost broken, so I had been trying to come up with a good way to apply it. I hate sticking my finger in the tub and q-tips get weird in it. I found a 2 pack of silicone tip applicators that I think are meant for applying glitter at Sephora, they're perfect. )

I just put my Laneige on for the night. I also use my Korean washcloth once or twice a week during the winter... just a quick scrub over my lips toward the end of my shower does wonders for exfoliating.

I use lanolin. They sell it in drugstores.
I recently became allergic to regular toothpaste and was getting very dry, chapped lips as a reaction. I had to switch to Toms and use lanolin frequently until my lips got back to normal.

What a nightmare. Switching to Toms toothpaste helped - but it took a while for my lips to heal.
