Well I went to check my IG for the first time in months, and an hour later... I'm back to report that on my laptop I have no ads. So THANKS for my Saturday morning disappearing down a rabbit hole!

matchy matchy outfits for the whole family (parents and kids all in spiderman costume, all dressed as pirates, all in blue jeans, converse and white tops lined up with mugs in from of their faces "who doesn't love hot chocolate!?!") in a perfect white house with white furniture and white cupboards and white.... everything. do you rent those kids?!? how is everybody and everything so clean?!?!
and people's work out stats. i am glad you are proud of your 87 splats or whatever but i work out for me (when i work out....) so that seems odd to me.

So what is Grove?
I hate that Instagram doesn’t give you the ability to embed hyperlinks in the actual post.

What the heck? I just typed grove in here and guess what shows up in Instagram. Yes, never ever had grove ads in my Instagram before. Here is my test to see if what we post ends up on Instagram.
Mercedes Benz Rolls Royce Range Rover

I'm tired of the over the top vacations that are sponsored. I'd rather see what the average person is paying to do in these nice accommodations and trips. I need to stop watching stories. LOL Not everyone is as interesting on camera. Even some of my favorites tend to ramble too much and I've started scrolling by.

I’m getting so sick of instagram...it’s full of “influencers” whining about people being rude to them in comments and DMs. If you mandate that I must greet you and compliment you in my comment before I can ask you a question, I’m thinking I’m definitely not gonna bother. Just saw this post the other day. You have GOT to be kidding me. I don't even follow the person who originally posted about it and I guaranteed won't now.
I'm also over the Grove thing. And people posting their CrossFit workouts. WHO CARES? who cares what your WOD was? Why do you think people want to watch you work out unless you are actively teaching how to do a particular exercise? How ridiculous and self-absorbed. NOBODY CARES.
Also cats. I don't care about your cat.
Eh, keep the cats coming I find them funny

I post about my Crossfit workouts, my kids and FOOD! Don't like it. Simple: don't follow!
I follow other Crossfitters, friends & family since I like seeing what they're up to, LOTS of food pages, Happy Planner stuff because I love it, even though I never, ever use any of the planners I have hoarded annnnnd lots of Disney World stuff!
If I start to get bothered by what I am seeing, I just unfollow that person. Plain & simple.
The only thing that I would say REALLY irks me on Instagram are the really big, fake open-mouthed smiles. Like so completely posed, you look like a statue rather than genuinely happy. It's bizarre.

WSJ did an update on influencer advertising: "Online Influencers Tell You What to Buy, Advertisers Wonder Who’s Listening Billions are paid to social-media personalities to pitch products in an influencer economy riddled with deceit... But a whiff of deceit now taints the influencer marketplace. Influencers have strained ties with advertisers by inflating the number of their followers, sometimes buying fake ones by the thousands. They also have damaged their credibility with real-life followers by promoting products they don’t use.... Accurately tracking the effectiveness of influencer advertising is difficult. By one measure, their influence is waning. Engagement rates, which measure the number of “likes” a post generates as a percent of a person’s followers, are down this year, compared with the same period last year, according to InfluencerDB, which makes tools to help brands manage influencer campaigns.... “When you pay for a billboard, you know roughly how many people will see it,” said Mr. Mehta, 25. “With Instagram you have no idea. Followers can be bought.”... The scams cost little. Enterprises known as click farms employ people to inflate online traffic. They sell 1,000 bogus YouTube followers for as little as $49. On Facebook, the same number of followers costs $34, and on Instagram they cost $16, according to Masarah Paquet-Clouston, a researcher at cybersecurity firm GoSecure, who collaborated with others to seek prices." www.wsj.com/articles/online-influencers-tell-you-what-to-buy-advertisers-wonder-whos-listening-11571594003

They say there's an app for everything. I want an app that erases any mention of any Kardashian or Jenner. Apparently, I'm highly annoyed with them and I can't seem to steer instagram away from them.

I’m sure this has been posted, but selfies taken in the bathroom. If you don’t have any other mirrors accessible, you don’t need to be taking the selfie.

KikiPea I love the mural walls too! If I find myself annoyed by public art, I need to question why I'm feeling that way.

Well I don’t really have a dog in this fight but I am trying to distract myself/my mind so you all get to read my thoughts (this is a warning so you can skip on by) I just signed up for Instagram a few months ago so I could follow some friends’ private account while they traveled. But I don’t really use the follow options yet. I do have certain people whose accounts I check out often, a mixture of famous and others. I like all types of instagrams pictures and just give it a quick glance and click faster if it doesn’t interest me or I am sick of it. I particularly love reading the comments, especially on “famous” peoples’ accounts. It just amazes me what some people say. I also get pulled down the wormhole to other accounts (often) that way. I don’t think that anyone who gives an opinion on a fluff thread like this is necessarily saying it as a body shaming slam (and I am prepared to be educated why this is an incorrect opinion ), I think it is more just talking about certain trends and things that have become popular. I do think it is human nature to discuss likes and dislikes and trends, especially with groups of friends. If we didn’t talk about likes or dislikes that would eliminate much of the fluff threads. When you start writing articles, posting comments to actual people, etc...that IMO is where is changes from discussing trends or things that you dislike to shaming someone.

Seeing the over-use of the words TRANSPARENT and INTENTIONAL make me stabby! Even my sister and a IRL friend stared over-using those words, so I can't unfollow them. On a positive note, thanks to all the peas who post horrible/ awesome / weird houses for sale, I recently found 2 real estate accounts that crack me UP! One is " please hate these things" and then there's " drunk realtor' where I fofound this pik

And everyone has a LV Neverfull. Can you please explain what that is? Along with "Grove Collaborative", I don't wanna google, and then get their ads! I've read every post here, and was hoping someone had told us what "Grove Collaborative" is.

I mostly follow decorating pages. The thing that drives me nuts is them making their morning coffee. Every single day. I don't want to unfollow, because I enjoy everything else.

LV usually = Louis Vuitton and I would guess that the Neverfull is the brown monogrammed tote bag that everyone and their brother carries.

Funny thing - I follow a lot of quilters and suddenly a bunch of them are posing with their quilt blocks and/or finished quilts and their feet are in the picture. I had never noticed anyone doing that until about a week ago and I immediately thought of this thread!

Louis Vuitton makes a shopper style purse and everyone who likes and buys luxury has one or like some TWO but the second one was teal and looks totally different. Also they hold a lot of shit. I use a never full all the time!

Well I just about had enough with IG and all its fakeness so I deleted my account. It has been a week and I don't miss it.
All I did was stare at my phone in a dead soul type of look and scroll and hit the heart. It no longer evoked happiness or made me laugh or stop and think.
It was a mindless app.
So now I have zero SM accounts!

Bringing it back to scrapbooking, I hate it when Close to my Heart or other Direct Sales marketers all use the same graphics. You’re not fooling anyone. Makes me ragey.
