Can we talk about the current landing page for the US State Dept website? Somebody needs to go back and re-read the first Amendment. This is NOT ok!

Being a Christian LeaderMichael M. Pompeo October 11, 2019 ** We all know this: Before you can help others, you need to have the right approach to yourself. This is where I get to the first point I wanted to talk about, which is disposition. How – what’s the attitude with which we approach each of these challenges, all the things that we see in the world? How you carry yourself is the first arena of Christian leadership. Scripture calls us to be “transformed by the renewing of [our] minds.” And so I keep a Bible open on my desk, and I try every morning to try and get in a little bit of time with the Book. I need my mind renewed with truth each day. And part of that truth is, as my son reminds me, is to be humble. Proverbs says, “With the humble is wisdom.” ** After I’ve collected data, I feel like I have the seasoning to then be able to begin to speak fundamental basic, simple, small “t” truths. Colossians talks about this. It says, “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer to each person.” I know this is a critical part of what so many of you do, whether it’s pointing those you counsel back to the truth of the Scripture, or giving them a hard wake-up call over their trespasses. I’ve found this in life – truth telling isn’t just a matter of private conversations for me. It’s what I try to do publicly as we lay down President Trump’s foreign policy to keep Americans safe and secure. This administration has spoken to the truth in many ways that previous administrations haven’t done. (Applause.) For example, on China’s rule-breaking and authoritarianism; for example, on why the Islamic Republic of Iran is an aggressor, not a victim; for why, in fact, we know in our hearts that America is a force for good in the world. (Applause.) ** www.state.gov/being-a-christian-leader/He talks a lot about TRUTH and christian. He seems to have trouble following through with TRUTH.

“After defeating 100% of the ISIS Caliphate, I largely moved our troops out of Syria. Let Syria and Assad protect the Kurds and fight Turkey for their own land. I said to my Generals, why should we be fighting for Syria....” ”and Assad to protect the land of our enemy? Anyone who wants to assist Syria in protecting the Kurds is good with me, whether it is Russia, China, or Napoleon Bonaparte. I hope they all do great, we are 7,000 miles away!” & “Some people want the United States to protect the 7,000 mile away Border of Syria, presided over by Bashar al-Assad, our enemy. At the same time, Syria and whoever they chose to help, wants naturally to protect the Kurds....” “.I would much rather focus on our Southern Border which abuts and is part of the United States of America. And by the way, numbers are way down and the WALL is being built!” How many times is it needed to say 'He has no clue!'

EU countries agree to halt arms exports to TurkeyBY JUSTINE COLEMAN - 10/14/19 08:31 PM EDT Countries in the European Union on Monday agreed to halt the exportation of arms to Turkey after the country launched its recent offensive into Syria. The Council of the European Union put out a statement saying the member states "commit to strong national positions regarding their arms export policy to Turkey." The statement, which arose out of a Luxembourg meeting between foreign ministers, condemns Turkey's bombing of Syria and encourages the country to stop its military advance. "The EU condemns Turkey’s military action which seriously undermines the stability and the security of the whole region, resulting in more civilians suffering and further displacement and severely hindering access to humanitarian assistance," the statement reads. The countries did not put into place an official EU-wide arms embargo, Politico reported. Some nations including Germany, France, Finland and Sweden, however, have implemented arms embargoes to Turkey. ** More at link: thehill.com/policy/international/europe/465782-eu-countries-agree-to-halt-arms-exports-to-turkey

Bolton told ex-Trump aide to call White House lawyers about Ukraine pressure campaign: report BY JUSTINE COLEMAN - 10/14/19 11:25 PM EDT Former national security adviser John Bolton told a former aide to President Trump on Russia to call White House lawyers to warn them about a pressure campaign on Ukraine, House investigators were reportedly told Monday.Bolton told Fiona Hill, the senior director for Russian and Eurasian affairs, to contact the lawyer for the National Security Council and say that the president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was involved in the efforts to pressure Ukraine into investigating Democrats, the New York Times reported Monday night. “I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Bolton told Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to the testimony reported by the Times. The former national security adviser had called Giuliani a "hand grenade who's going to blow everybody up" in a previous conversation with Hill, according to the Times. Hill testified for 10 hours behind closed doors on Monday as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, following allegations that Trump had asked Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son. The report identified Giuliani as a central figure in the effort to push Ukraine to investigate. thehill.com/policy/international/europe/465790-bolton-told-ex-trump-aide-to-call-white-house-lawyers-about

I said something like, "you'd have to be an asshole to vote for him this time"... And this husband said,"I don't normally say anything but you should just shut the fuck up!" HELLO??? Sounded like a threat and I'm getting that vibe of desperation from a bunch of his supporters!! (I reported this idiot and he did delete the coment sans apology.) Here is another funny, but really not so funny! Liz Cheney tried to blame the Syria debacle on impeachmentAnalysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large Updated 10:05 AM ET, Tue October 15, 2019 (CNN) Well, this is a new one.In the wake of President Donald Trump's disastrous decision to pull American troops out of northern Syria, House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) suggested that she had figured out what led Trump to this: Impeachment! Yes, impeachment. Here's Cheney on "Fox & Friends" on Monday: "The impeachment proceedings that are going on and what the Democrats are doing themselves to try to weaken this President is part of this. It was not an accident that the Turks chose this moment to roll across the border. And I think the Democrats have got to pay very careful attention to the damage that they're doing with impeachment proceedings." Wait, wait, wait. So because Democrats -- three weeks as of Tuesday -- formally launched an impeachment inquiry centered on Trump's conduct in Ukraine, the President decided to go pull troops out of Syria? ** How can Cheney say any of this with a straight face? Simple. Trump has so degraded truth and facts that people like Cheney -- the third ranking Republican in the House -- feel empowered to just make stuff up, knowing that the GOP base (of which a vast majority get their news exclusively from Fox News) will believe it without question. ** www.cnn.com/2019/10/15/politics/liz-cheney-donald-trump-syria-impeachment/index.htmlIf dt would stop tweeting and do his job, he might know what is going on in the world and do what is right. She also said that if it had not been for the impeachment talk Turkey would NOT have moved south into Syria. What? She forgets that Turkey moved south because the US abandoned to Kurds, which made them very vulnerable!

Video appears to show Russians moved into abandoned US baseAs Moscow announced Tuesday that its units were patrolling in northern Syria, a journalist traveling with Russian-backed forces released a video that appeared to show the inside of a now-abandoned U.S. base near the town of Manbij. “Good morning!” Oleg Blokhin said in a video posted to social media early in the morning. “We are at the U.S. base in Manbij. I sure hope so. (both for their safety, but also for the sake of not giving the Russians too much information about our military practices.)

Two examples of tweets..... trump.. “Democrats are allowing no transparency at the Witch Hunt hearings. If Republicans ever did this they would be excoriated by the Fake News. Let the facts come out from the charade of people, most of whom I do not know, they are interviewing for 9 hours each, not selective leaks.” Nancy Pelosi.. “Today, @housedemocrats are unveiling the #CollegeAffordabilityAct to protect students & families across the country and put money back in their pockets. Thank you to @repbobbyscott, whose relentless leadership has made this historic day possible.” So which is the “do nothing Party”? If anything the Democrats are multitasking. And the Republicans are doing what exactly?

linkCaroline Orr... ”FBI officials are stunned the president is openly calling for another country to intervene in another presidential election. One special agent...said officials were ‘rattled’ not just by the nature of Trump's actions but also by his brazenness.” From Business Insider.. “FBI officials were 'rattled' and 'blindsided' by Trump's call for Ukraine to manufacture dirt on Joe Biden“From the article... “FBI officials were "rattled" and "blindsided" by President Donald Trump's calls for Ukraine to manufacture dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son ahead of the 2020 election. "You walk down the halls, and there was this sense of dread, and everyone's kind of thinking, did the president really do this?" one FBI special agent told Insider. Officials are also frustrated by the Justice Department's decision not to launch a criminal investigation into allegations in a whistleblower complaint accusing Trump of breaking campaign-finance laws. The Justice Department's handling of the matter added to concerns about whether the FBI was being "neutered as an organization," a US official told Insider. Complicating matters is the fact that all this occurred against the backdrop of Attorney General William Barr's investigation into the origins of the Russia probe. "There's a lot of concern among officials that they're going to get thrown into the blender, that they do all the work and then are ridiculed for it, and accused of facilitating a coup or doing the bidding of the deep state," Frank Montoya Jr., a recently retired FBI agent, told Insider.

”There's an election next year—and it shouldn't be decided in secret by Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi.
Those two are stripping the American people of their voice with this scheme to impeach @realdonaldtrump behind closed doors.”
Benghazi. Hearing # 8 right in the middle of the 2016 election cycle. Members of Hillary’s staff who testified wanted to do so at a public hearing. The Republicans wouldn’t agree so it was done behind closed doors.
But be that as it may, the response to the tweet above from Bill Kristol..
”The fact that Republicans are complaining about hearings “behind closed doors”—i.e., actual fact-finding hearings as opposed to grandstanding—suggests some panic about what the impeachment inquiry is actually discovering.”

This correspondent is on who is in Syria. He said he talked to some Kurdish fighters and when they found out he was from the United States one guy made a comment “Americans, cowards”
And considering the guy in the Oval Office I can’t blame them for thinking that. Even though our soldiers are not cowards, they have a huge coward as their a Commander-in-Chief.

Washington Post Editorial Board. - 10-13-2019
“There’s yet another level to the Trump administration’s corruption in Ukraine”
“IT’S BECOMING evident that President Trump’s corruption in Ukraine was not limited to his pressure for politicized investigations that could help his reelection campaign. We now know that the president’s unjustified firing of the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine in May advanced the interests of two businessmen who made large contributions to his political campaigns.
According to reporting by The Post and other news organizations, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, two emigres from the former Soviet Union with checkered financial histories, made $630,000 in contributions to Republican candidates and political action committees beginning in 2016, including $325,000 to a pro-Trump PAC. This year, the men sought the removal of Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, whom they saw as an obstacle to their scheme to change the management of Ukraine’s state energy company and strike a deal to sell it liquefied natural gas.
Messrs. Parnas and Fruman were working with Mr. Trump’s attorney, Rudolph W. Giuliani, and connected him to two corrupt Ukrainian prosecutors, one of whom made false charges against Ms. Yovanovitch. The result was the abrupt recall of the ambassador, who told Congress last week that she had been yanked on the orders of Mr. Trump even though the State Department assured her she had done nothing wrong. AD
As Ms. Yovanovitch put it, “contacts of Mr. Giuliani may well have believed that their personal financial ambitions were stymied by our anti-corruption policy in Ukraine.” Messrs. Parnas and Fruman have now been arrested and charged with campaign finance violations, including routing illegal contributions to federal candidates from a Russian source.
Much more remains to be learned about this sordid affair, including the role played by Energy Secretary Rick Perry, who also pressed for changes in the board of the Ukrainian energy company, including attempting to install one of his campaign contributors. It’s not known where Messrs. Parnas and Fruman obtained the hundreds of thousands of dollars they poured into GOP campaigns.
But the bottom line is that there are now two dimensions to Mr. Trump’s abuse of his office in Ukraine: his attempt to induce President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch investigations of former vice president Joe Biden and Ukraine’s purported role in the 2016 election; and his removal of a competent and corruption-fighting ambassador who opposed a questionable venture by men who contributed to Mr. Trump’s campaigns and did business with his personal lawyer.
In one instance, Mr. Trump was attempting to advance his personal political interest. In the other, he was trashing the career of a distinguished Foreign Service professional and subverting U.S. foreign policy to serve shady private interests.
The damage he has done is considerable. As Ms. Yovanovitch summed it up, “That harm will come not just through the inevitable and continuing resignation and loss of many of this nation’s most loyal and talented public servants. . . . The harm will come when private interests circumvent professional diplomats for their own gain, not the public good. The harm will come when bad actors in countries beyond Ukraine see how easy it is to use fiction and innuendo to manipulate our system.”

The Washington Post.. “Kevin McCarthy has put Republicans in a really bad place”“House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has a problem with the impeachment inquiry that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced last week. In a letter delivered Thursday, he argued that the process was all wrong. “I am writing to request you suspend all efforts surrounding your ‘impeachment inquiry’ until transparent and equitable rules and procedures are established to govern the inquiry, as is customary,” he wrote. Bless his heart. McCarthy is already playing a losing hand badly in defending President Trump in the Ukraine scandal. (See his appearance on “60 Minutes.”) Now he’s arguing process, which is a really bad place to be. Back when Barack Obama was president, Republicans sued him over an action he took on Obamacare in 2014. When a Wall Street Journal column tut-tutted Democrats for making process arguments against the suit, conservative scribe Michael Barone swooped in to provide backup with a rule that is super relevant now. “It goes like this: “All process arguments are insincere, including this one.” I’m sure you can think of many instances in which this rule seems to apply, but most or all of them will probably involve people you disagree with. ... So just for exercise, you might want to think of an instance when someone on your side of the political debate has made an obviously insincere process argument.”
Enter McCarthy, whose two-page letter is a gold-star example of Barone’s rule. After listing 10 process-y yes-or-no questions for Pelosi, McCarthy declared, “By answering ‘no’ to any of the above, you would create a process completely devoid of any merit or legitimacy.” What’s so precious about this entire exercise is what the president uttered before McCarthy’s missive. “And by the way, likewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine,” Trump said Thursday. That came more than a week after the White House released the notes from the July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president. That came hours after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo finally confirmed that he had been on that call. And after the release of the whistleblower’s complaint confirmed the details in the call notes. As expected, Madam Speaker was having none of it. “The existing rules of the House provide House Committees with full authority to conduct investigations for all matters under their jurisdiction, including impeachment investigations,” Pelosi responded to McCarthy in a pithy letter of her own. “There is no requirement under the Constitution, under House Rules, or House precedent that the whole House vote before proceeding with an impeachment inquiry.” There is one thing McCarthy wrote that I agreed with. “ nything less than a thorough, transparent, and fair process would represent a supreme insult to our Constitution and the millions of Americans who rely on their voices being heard through our democratic system of government,” he wrote. McCarthy is right, which is why he and other Republicans should stop insulting the Constitution by giving political cover to a president who shreds it with every utterance. While he’s at it, he should stop insulting our collective intelligence by trying to convince us that we haven’t seen and heard what we have seen and heard.”
