This one shows use of multiple patterned papers. It’s not too busy but so much better than a plain old, plain background which is what I usually end up doing. This is a monochromatic example your challenge is to use 1 color on a white background, at least 4 different patterned papers and at least 4 embellishments. Twist – 5 points - Add some dots, nuvos, brads, enamel dots, just dots. For an extra 5 points add some memorabilia (a program, invitation, thank you card, event ticket, etc) SKETCHTEMBER - 4 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr And here is my take - IMG_4114 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

Love the sketch, gramma. Teehee. I saw it and thought "that looks like a sketch of something gramma would do". Clean classic lines. The type of pages of yours I sometimes print out to help keep my messy style on track. Then I checked out your sample, and saw the way you mixed it up with the extra photos and tilting. That works for you too!

grammadee Thank you. This one is sorta, kinda, a little bit out of my comfort zone. I mean tilted pictures, more than one background paper, papers that don't go all the way to the edges??? Really??

LOL, gramma , I chuckled at your tilted photos. I have the hardest time doing that. This one is out of my comfort zone, but I love it and hope to work on it over the weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for a fabulous sketch gramma , it's right IN my comfort zone! I didn't manage to get the twist in, because I had finished my LO before I even looked at what the twist was!! Aaarrgh, I keep doing that! And as you can see, my LO is about as far from monochromatic as you can get haha. Oh well. I used the 'Best Friends Forever' kit by Jen C Designs. Here is the digital template for any digital scrappers LisaDV ABCreations You will need to make all the layers visible: Sketchtember 27 template

Thanks so much AussieMeg! I may get to this with the template over the next couple of days, now that I'm home. Love the colors and that River font. gramma, great sketch. I love your monochromatic layout. It's so sweet. I struggle with monochromatic layouts.

I didn't manage the challenge or the twist and I had to play with the photo layout a bit but....
