Given that we are living in interesting times (to say the least), what are you bringing to the potluck? This is trending on Twitter. I'll bring home brewed kombucha and egg bites made with from my chickens organic eggs.

I’m old. I don’t get it.
Is this a real potluck, or a hypothetical cyberspace thing?
Unless we are talking Civil War re-enactment- which, given where I live in VA happens on a regular basis - I don’t understand the purpose.
Again, I’m old and apparently clueless, so humor me.

Gotcha. I did have a conversation with Dh earlier this afternoon when I heard Trump’s quote about the thread we had around a month or two ago where a few of us posited that a Civil War might break out if Trump wasn’t re-elected and a few peas - including Trump haters - couldn’t understand how/didn’t believe that would/could happen. Hopefully, Trump actually calling for one clears up any doubt. I wouldn’t bring anything other than a handful of anti-depressants for those so depressed by the state of affairs and as many anti-emetics I could get my hands on for those, like me, who would be puking their guts out over the state of affairs, rather than eating anything at the potluck....

We don't live that far away from each other so we can share resources. Unfortunately, we do live too close to DC so it would get ugly here first thing.

i am good for pop and buns. also known as the item that the guy in my office always signs up for first.
your president never ceases to amaze... not in a good, positive or impressive way....
reminds me of listening to an old radio broadcast - not sure if it was the war of the worlds or the hindenberg distaster? i was a kid and i remember the announcer stating it was "terrific". we all laughed and the teacher explained terrific meant it was causing terror.
so yah, he does amaze me on a regular basis.

I’m thinking that the #civilwarpotluck is an online attempt to blow off steam, probably thinking if they make light of it it might go the way that storming Area 51 went. Which is not really anywhere but Instagram pictures of people with ‘aliens’ by the sign

We don't live that far away from each other so we can share resources. Unfortunately, we do live too close to DC so it would get ugly here first thing. I live literally 1 block from where General Johnston and 40,000 Confederate troops where headquartered. So, apparently my neighborhood has been on the wrong side of history in the first Civil War. However, given the current makeup of my neighborhood, Trump and his supporters would hate what we have to serve. At our recent block party, the potluck featured middle eastern chicken kabobs on the grill, chana masala, Korean dumplings, Korean noodles, hand-rolled sushi, and to which I contributed a dozen Ben’s Chili Bowl Half-Smokeds along with chili and rolls. Our block would be more than happy to bring our usuals, as given most are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants, they want nothing to do with our White Supremacist in Chief or his supporters. Our neighborhood will be on the right side of history this time around. You are more than welcome to join us.

Unfortunately, we do live too close to DC so it would get ugly here first thing. Not so much. It will take time for his minions to pack their travel gear. It's not a civil war without devilled eggs, Not fair, I read the thread first and took too long....... Too bad, I will bring deviled eggs TOO! However, given the current makeup of my neighborhood, Trump and his supporters would hate what we have to serve. New Jersey hosted a good part of the Revolution, so we really know what our forefathers intended for our success. And Washington really did sleep here, in fact, all up and down the NY to Philadelphia to Virginia corridor ...

But... this is also an important perspective to consider:

My black bean, roasted sweet potato and poblano tacos on fresh corn tortillas. And I'll talk endlessly about how veeeeeegan they are. But I agree that it's no joke. Some are saying that the civil war tweet and the one suggesting that Adam Schiff should be charged with treason are more fodder for the impeachment fire.
