I agree with the others - I think it is a really nice low volume quilt and would look great tossed over a chair or in a girls room.
I also understand not liking the final product sometimes - I have more than one WIP that I struggle to finish because it isn't turning out as I had hoped. I do finally finish most of them - some I end up liking once they are finished and others I donate to shelters or senior's homes.
Just a thought - what is your process when deciding on a quilt? Do you notice a pattern you like and want to make it or is it the colours and fabric that catch your imagination? I found I liked my projects more once I figured that part out. You definitely do very nice work - the piecing is beautiful.

ashley, I think it's beautiful. I love the colours together. Could it be that you had plans for it, eg. to use it on your bed, and it doesn't sing together with the rest of the decor?

Yay! I am finally done with the dreaded puff stitches. Now I am onto sunshines.

I’ve been working on this quilt for ages and I don’t like it. I’ve already sewn more than half the blocks together into groups of four, so I really don’t want to take them apart to add anything else. I’m seriously considering giving up quilting because I never like anything I make, and I haven’t actually finished anything in more than three years. And it just feels like another failure/burden — I always want to make time for quilting and when I do the outcome is dismal. I’m sorry that you aren’t happy with your quilt top. I think that it is very pretty. Like others have said, it would be great for a girl’s room or a sunroom. The pinks and yellows and whites go so well together. I understand not being happy with your crafting - I’ve stopped knitting sweaters because I never like how they turn out and don’t wear them.

Yay! I am finally done with the dreaded puff stitches. Now I am onto sunshines. The Sunshine squares were fun - enjoy! I just got done blocking four squares. It is very slow going. I really can’t do more than 5 at a time, so I have to do it in batches. I have many more squares waiting to be blocked than those I managed to block.

Thank you!! I decided to put it away for a bit and make decisions at another time. I could take out the stitches I’ve done already, it’s actually not a big deal. I’ve undone more than that on other quilts.
I sort of sketched out a design... and the individual blocks I LOVE!! I had no real plans for it, I just wanted a bright quilt that made me happy.

Is there a record for the number of times yarn has been unravelled and re-crocheted? I've lost count of how many sleeves I've made now, but I have one finished AND the pattern written down for the other one. Go me.

You’ve just reminded me that my mother could knit clothes without a pattern! I’ve just had a flashback to being a child and standing still while she held pieces against me to decide where she would increase or decease. That was a lovely memory, thank you!

Ok my sunshine squares are done. I am off to do the buds ones while I listen to revisionist history. I just discovered that podcast and I love it. When I am done with these four that will be the halfway point. So I will wash and block the squares. That's the plan anyway. I have a million ends to weave in. I hate that part. I'm also at the point now where I'm concerned about running out of yarn. I think I might not have enough.

Hi I have a sewing room now with an awesome table for my machine and serger. I don’t know what to make. I thought about making some muslin cloths for washing my face. I could just serge the edges. I haven’t found my crocheting stuff yet so that’s out. Anyone have any better ideas? I know how to sew but I want to make small projects. This way I can use up what I buy and then start something new.

Delta Dawn I am jealous you have a craft room. How about some fun pillows? It’s cute. I will do a Messenger chat with you. It’s sound proof and so earthly quiet. I mean no sound in there. I could make pillows. My sewing machine is great but I am not sure it can still handle tapestry fabric for a pillow. It might have to be softer fabric. OR just get a newer sewing machine. My friend had an industrial Juki and omg a pillow took 5 minutes on that thing. It terrified me and it was fast.

I'm finishing a crocheted cardigan for myself and getting ready to start two crochet Christmas presents. The Wulf Men's Pullover for DH, and The Cuffed Shawl for MIL. I have another crocheted project as a work on whenever project. It'll be a cardigan or cape, not sure which yet. No pattern for it, just playing with shapes.

**GypsyGirl** I'm quite curious about why you'd want or need to age a quilt top before quilting. I love both of the quilts you shared. Creative designs and colors!

As for the aging of a quilt...that's just me being a smart ass about taking a year or more to actually get a top quilted. My favorite part of quilting is the design and color, followed by the piecing of a top. The quilting stage is my least favorite.

I got back in the saddle today and busted out my silhouette portrait to make a shirt for ds. I hadn’t played with vinyl in a looooong time. He asked me for something fun we could do so I told him to design a birthday T-shirt and I’d try to make it. Here’s what we came up with—and he loves it! Best Day Ever It’s My Birthday by Dana

Patter your painting is wonderful. I love to see how you use it on things like mixed media and such. Just beautiful Journal. **GypsyGirl** I am in love with the top quilt. It is so bright and happy. Both are wonderfully done. And I am loving the bees. Just so perfect.

So I'm doing another old door thing. DD is moving into a condo in mid-November if all goes according to plan.
I pulled this old door from the old barn (animal gnawing including on left edge) and am planning on making a entryway coat-rack/shelf/table thing. I found the old mirror for 99 cents at a fave thrift store along with the wall shelf to use on top as trim. That I had to scuff and stain to make it work and match. The top shelf is the leftover drawer from a buffet turned TV console project. The middle and bottom shelves (bottom one not seen- at floor height) are an old barn board I cut down to doors width x2.
The numbers are address of the childhood home. In the picture I will post in a moment form phone it is just kind of thrown together, balanced and tacked to send pic for "approval of concept" from DD. I got a "I love everything about it!" in reply.I'm going to line the drawer with a blown up photo of a favorite spot in Door County, our happy place. I'm also going to hang on one edge and antique yardstick from a long gone business from the area. Both for decor and "handy".
Still have to add the old fashioned wire coat hooks, and old knob and whatever else suits my fancy between now and then.
I did cut the drawer depth down and reattached the back so the spindle legs would meet the front. It will probably not be put together until it reaches its new home for ease of transport. Hopefully in a month or so I will then be able to post final photo of a satisfying project- for both me and DD.
Second pic is that for bottom of drawer lining, Anderson Dock in Ephraim WI. I thought the old graffiti painted dock building matched the feel.
ETA resized pics to reasonable size. click to enlarge. While it is easier to post photos from phone, why do they appear so LARGE on screen/thread when using tapatalk? Can they not be somehow? Photos for me are either HUGE or tiny. oh well

further ETA on my above mentioned door entryway... site or my computer or internet won't let me edit...
I may put a child size white sock and the number/code 2319 as a nod to childhood fave move Monsters Inc.
Perhaps tacked up under drawer.
as an FYI: A 2319 is a company or factory code in the Monsters Inc. world. When an employee is contaminated with a foreign object of a human child, a 2319 goes into effect and alerts the Child Detection Agency (CDA) In Monsters Inc. 2319 is code for White Sock. The 23rd letter in the alphabet is W and 19 is S. WS = White Sock
what do you think? I should, right!?
