Two friends and I just got back from a cropping weekend in the mountains. One of my friends was given the weekend home of a friend of hers for our use. It was a three bedroom/four bathroom 3,000 sf "cabin" in the Rocky Mountains. It was gorgeous and the perfect setting for scrapping. We were about 200 yards away from the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Forest. Within a 15 minute drive into the park, we saw about 200 elk bugling and grazing. There was a little town with great restaurants and shopping about a five minute drive away. In spite of all of the wonders of nature, we did a fair amount of scrapping. We got there Thursday night and left Sunday afternoon. I am almost caught up with 2019 layouts. I think I have just four more sets of pictures to scrap. Now I just need to get the motivation to unpack it all. God I miss my days of mountain scrapping. We would have a group of 8-10 gals and we would rent a house (usually there were some scrapping houses to rent, one favorite was called Chocolate Moose Lodge.. but the gals that owned it sold it).. It was the most perfect place.. and with 8-10 of us to use it from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon, was only $125 plus food. AND I had one girlfriend who loved to cook so she came with us and cooked for all of us (we covered her costs). And we did the clean up. We did that for about 3 years twice a year. None of them scrap anymore. And one passed away. ferblover did you ever go to Chocolate Moose with us??

I have been to at least a half dozen different ones all outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park. I would love to own one, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. The ones in Estes are amazing. This one was right next to Grand Lake. It was just someone's home and not set up for a lot of people, so the three of us happily scrapped at a large 8 person wooden table. It was also free, so we ate out at some fun restaurants for dinner. All you can eat crab leg night was Friday's meal and Saturday morning we didn't need a meal. Oh, so good.

My friend who passed away did a lot of Estes ones.. I think the one at the YMCA?? I have done one at Grand Lake as well. It was just me and a friend. Probably the first time I ever did one away from home. FREE is the best place to go.. hahahaha.... ferblover Chocolate Moose was probably right before you joined us then. It was awesome. The basement was totally set up for scrapping with a huge TV in front of us with all the flicks we wanted to watch. There was an area where there were die cutting machines (whatever was popular at that time), plus she had all kinds of tools to use. One bedroom had a huge soaking tub in it. To die for!! She supplied a bunch of coffee, teas type stuff with a machine.. plus snacks.. Easy in and easy out.. I found some pics!! The ones in the basement don't show how it used to be, but the rest looks the same. www.google.com/search?q=chocolate+moose+lodge+fairplay+co&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiLt8C9sY_lAhXOsJ4KHecADkAQ_AUIFCgD&biw=1920&bih=969#imgrc=oDyLaKq_ts82JM:

I'm going to the Echo Park warehouse sale tomorrow! I decided to treat myself to something since my husband is going to Hawaii with his family. Long story, but I don't want any part of that s$!t show. I don't live all that close, but I think me and my daughter will take a detour on the way home and look at leaves!

Yesterday I actually scrapped.
I completed a two page 8.5x11" birthday layout.
And two Back to School 12x12" layouts.
I made a point to use unopened alpha faux-thickers on all the layouts as the titles. Love that new letter smell! 😁
And on one layout, i pulled out my emphemera and used over twenty pieces to cluster and layer.
I also actually used two sheets of Vicki Boutin paper that i bought with my last ACOT order. So pretty!
Today i have intentions to scrap again. I still have back to school photos to scrap, and autumn photos. And a bunch of my teen's school club photos from a couple events that have already happened this year.

I finished two 8.5x11" layouts, and two 12x12" layouts today.
I used lots of enamel alphas on titles.
I used one sheet of Shimelle Field Trip as a background, then bunches of scrap strips of Field Trip as part of a cluster.

Back from the Echo Park warehouse sale. I met nylene and her daughter! I mainly bought sheet protectors and I'm putting myself on a freeze except for photos, adhesive, and hopefully albums (because I finished pages!). My favorite purchase was probably the alphabet stamp and banner stamps with numbers in them. The perfect size for Project Life cards.
We missed looking at the fall leaves because we made a detour to an outlet store. They had one aisle of craft stuff. Not much for scrapbooking, but there was a big stack of 12x12 packs from Miss Kate cutables. I only bought the super hero pack because we hadn't been to the EP sale. They are one sided and a decent quality.

I’m getting to grips with some Halloween crafting, I just posted my latest altered cheapie skull. I’m now on the lookout for cheap black card to cut out bats to decorate the walls with.

I have gotten the organizing and cleaning bug again. So far this weekend I did all my laundry (which is a miracle), I rearranged the guest room and girls room and went through all my stamps and donated a huge grocery bag full on free cycle. I’m getting stuff done. This will be the year I finally get it done.
I also have been scrapbooking a ton from my stash. This week I think I probably did 10 pages. I woke up 2 days at 5am and scrapbooked for an hour in silence while drinking coffee.

My Cameo 4 was delivered yesterday! But with exams this week immediately followed by a four week practicum placement, it's probably going to be a while before I can play with it.

Made some time to play with my new Cameo 4 today. Bubble thoroughly burst by the fact that I can't get a clean cut on textured cardstock. It's just shredding the top layer. Sssssigh
Edit: It's actually not cutting anything cleanly, not even regular patterned paper.

Edit: It's actually not cutting anything cleanly, not even regular patterned paper. Is the blade locked in completely? Fortunately all my problems with my Cameo have been user error 😂 I’m expecting some packages of scrap goodness, I need to organize my stash before I put the new goodies away. I spent a lot of time scrapping last week, I’m a slow scrapper so I didn’t produce much but I enjoy the process.

By process of elimination I've come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the auto blade that came in the box. I tried a ratchet blade from my old machine and it cuts fine. I'll see if I can get a replacement blade from them somehow.

I was thinking of asking for the Cameo 4 for Christmas. I have the first one, but I'd prefer wireless and I heard the 4 doesn't need a mat. My MIL asks us to choose 5 items for Christmas and she buys them for us - it can be anything from a MacBook to a pair of socks, and everything in between, so I was thinking that the Cameo 4 might be perfect for my big gift for this year. Please update us on how you like it

Today I worked from home. I managed to clean out all my kids toy boxes and downsize from a million toys to 100,000 toys. I also scrapped a couple photos that were hanging out on my desk for months. Then I cleaned out my ribbon bin. I’m donating half a bag of ribbon to a local person. I only kept a small jar filled.
I’m getting my life together this year. I have had great momentum since the beginning of the year. I stopped mid summer but now I’m back.
I started off with 25.5” of paper with a goal to put a dent in it. I’m probably down to 25.49” now. Go me!!!!!!!!

Please update us on how you like it I've gone back to using a ratchet blade and it is cutting so cleanly and lovely. I've contacted Sihouette customer service about getting a replacement auto-blade but the process is very convoluted so I'm not sure that I'll follow it through. I probably should in case it is a universal issue with these new blades, they may need more data/information. For now I'll just stick with my ratchet blades. And I've ordered a Graphtec CB09 kit (off some comments on this forum) so I'll see if I can get that to work when it arrives!

I made two shaker embellishments this morning. One is birthday themed, the other i used a pattern paper scrap that had an orange and yellow camera on it with a light teal/blue background, and used sequins to match.

I am hoping to make some cards this weekend and scrapbook. Last week dd had a cold and then had infusions. This week ds has been sick and dd ended up in the ER for a significant allergic reaction.
Dd and I are going to Green Spot Farm tomorrow to get our pumpkins and fresh honey. It is a real farm with lots of animals and honey bees. The honey is soooooo good!
If any southern Ca peas need a fun fall get away, it is in Mentone off highway 38 and close to Oak Glen (15 min drive, maybe 20).
I do want to scrap that and about dds IVIG infusions.

Took my two youngest to a local farm for fallfest. So many photos! We took a hayride, went through a corn maze, drank apple cider, pet goats, sheep, & pigs. We got there right as they opened, and were able to get lots of photos easily before it became congested. We were able to have an employee use my camera to take a family pic at a designated photo op spot (hay bales decorated with dried colorful corn, pumpkins, gourds, etc). I'm almost never in photos, so i was glad to have the opportunity. It was just such a fun time, and one of those days where my answer could be "yes" for everything. Yes to cookies, yes to cider, yes to apple butter, yes to petting the animals (so many times!). And I'll even admit that i bought plain shirts that not only complimented each other (deep green & dark navy, & I wore a dark maroon), but that complimented the greens, oranges, reds, golds, etc of our surroundings. I very much wanted good, scrappable autumn photos.
