I hope he gets better and lives a long time. Just wish he would drop out of the race.

I'm glad he's okay and in recovery and talking. I wish him the best in health.
I was all gung ho for Sanders last time around but this time he's not strong enough on stronger gun laws for my taste. I'm leaning a lot more towards Elizabeth Warren this time.

Wish him no ill will but think that is a sign that it may be a younger man's game.

I’m so glad he is ok.
I think he should take this as a sign to bow out gracefully.

I really like Sanders, and he was definitely my guy in 2016. I agree, though... he's too old. I'm glad he's okay, and maybe this will be the sign he needs.

And throw his support behind the eventual nominee ... unlike last time. this is bullshit he absolutely did support Hillary after the primary. His supporters were not interested in her as a candidate and there was nothing more he could have done to change that. The Democrat party, on the other hand, continues to do everything in their power to block progressive, non-corporate candidates from having a seat at the table.

Wishing him well, glad a couple of stents were all that he needed, and hoping to hear him end his campaign and throw his support behind another candidate.

I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
If he drops out after this, Elizabeth Warren has sure hit the potential jackpot after this week.

I’m glad he’s ok and hope he’ll be able to get some rest and recovery time.
After reading another thread just now, I think I have a fun idea—-Bernie Sanders moves to The Villages in Florida for a little rest and relaxation.

His supporters were not interested in her as a candidate and there was nothing more he could have done to change that. The Democrat party, on the other hand, continues to do everything in their power to block progressive, non-corporate candidates from having a seat at the table. You keep telling yourself that but he laid the groundwork of the Bernie Bro’s not supporting Hillary if she was the nominee with constantly saying in his speeches “let the people vote” . A statement like that would imply that somehow the Democrats were stopping people from voting. So I looked a little deeper into what he meant. Sanders strength came from independents and not from moderate Democrats. As such the primaries that were “closed” would prevent independents from voting unless they were registered Democrats or independents asking for a Democratic ballot. How the individual states set up their primaries was determined long before Sanders decided to run as a Democrat. But he seemed to think they should be changed right smack in the Of primary voting period to suit him. When that didn’t happen he started the “let the people vote” bit. One of his biggest mistakes was not working with his supporters in each state on what they needed to do to be able to vote for him in that state’s primary. So what it boiled down to is even if supporters had voted for him, his constantly saying “let the people vote” would lead some to believe the DNC was stopping people from voting for Sanders and if he didn’t win it was because of that so why should they vote for any nominee the Democrats chose. So they didn’t. As a Democrat I think all primaries for President should be closed meaning only registered Democrats can vote. I mean after all it’s picking the Democratic Nominee. I also think, as a candidate, if you run as either a Democrat or Republican and you want the support of the DNC or RNC you should be registered as either a Democrat or Republican longer than 20 minutes like Sanders was when he decided to run for President as a Democrat.

I am conservative, but, I actually like Bernie Sanders and wish him well. I think he has fought a great fight and should retire and enjoy his legend status.

Let's also remember: Bernie's not a Democrat. The DNC has the right to back a candidate from its own party. He helped torpedo Hillary in 2016 because he was unhappy with that. I wish Bernie well, but he needs to fade away into retirement. Let a progressive DEMOCRAT lead the way. ETA: he helped torpedo Hillary by waiting so long after she clinched the nomination to endorse her, fueling the Bernie bros outrage that he had been "wronged" somehow.

I hope he gets better and lives a long time. Just wish he would drop out of the race. Totally that! He needs to disappear from the campaign. Go retire somewhere in a small Vermont town where he can sit on the front porch and greet people and read books and stay out of the presidential race.

I’ve always liked Bernie and I’m glad he’s on the mend. IMO, anyone who’s fought that passionately and aggressively for decades for economic equality is admirable. But I agree with most…and I don’t think it’s being ageist to say it: He’s too old, just like Biden, to be running for president. If either of them gets elected, the pressures of the presidency alone will be too much for someone that age. How many times have we seen a president in his prime at the onset look haggard and old by the time his term is over. The office takes an enormous toll on an individual, something that cannot be dismissed for candidates in their late 70s.

Indeed. If you put a picture of him when he took office beside one eight years later, the difference is startling. Same with Reagan, George W and Clinton.
