Debating on which to use. I like the look of the markers but also think my coloring skills are better with pencils

I feel my coloring and blending is better with colored pencils. I like the intense color and brightness of markers but know I do not have the skills to pull that off at this time. Wish I did!

Hidden option C? Watercolours. I exclusively colour in my stamped images with watercolours and I love everything about it: the process, the look, the ease to blend, the price tag, the little amount of space needed to house all the colours I could ever need.

Well, I picked markers because I think the process is faster, but I think it's a tie. I really love the look of both. Last year I used a mix of Prisma and Polychromos pencils for my Christmas cards. I make close to 60 cards and it took FOREVER (I started in July) but I loved the card. This year I have the same number of cards to make and every card has 8 reindeer ... I'm using Copics because colouring close to 500 reindeer with pencils was not something I was looking forward to!

I voted markers. It's Copics for me for card image coloring. I made the investment and then thought I better learn how to use these! I'm not great but I'm a lot better than when I started. And I'm no longer intimidated by them.
I did buy a set of Polychromos pencils recently and look forward to exploring their coloring potential.

I voted markers. I got bit by the Copic bug two years ago. Since then I hardly ever use my pencils.

While I'm not a cardmaker, I use colored pencils (with a blender pencil) on the rare occasion an outline stamp that I wish to color is included on a layout.

That's me~~ I have many SU markers that do come in handy with stamping images also. But my coloring skills I think are better with pencils.

I like colored pencils since I can do blending and shading. But then again I don’t have Copics, only some old Zig markers which surprisingly are still good.

I don't have good colored pencils and the markers I have aren't great either, but I think the markers give me a better result much faster. Generally I prefer to use stamps that I can get away without coloring, tbh! I'm lazy and impatient and my skills are limited.

I prefer my Copics, but I have had to buy them gradually over time. However, I have friends who come to my home for (no cost) card making once a month, and I don’t mind letting them borrow my colored pencils. The Copics are too expensive to share with the group. They’d need to be replaced in a hurry. The stamped images still look very nice. You get a softer look with the pencils.

Markers (Copics). I’m better with them and my hands get tired with pencils.

I dont have markers, so my vote may be skewed, but I'm still using the small box of Prisma coloring pencils I bought around 2007.

My DD13 asked for Copics in a roundabout way the other day. She's the budding artist in the family and truly loves drawing and coloring. She was very surprised that I knew exactly what she was talking about along with the price tag that comes with it. She is also the same child who has worn my Prismacolors way down but definitely has a lot to show for it!

I can't get on the Copic train - I don't know how to use them well, and therefore I can't justify spending all that $ on them. Like sleepingbooty, I watercolor more than anything else. I use Zig real brush markers, but I use them with a waterbrush, so I'm not sure you can count that as "coloring with markers." Remember when everyone was all about Twinkling H2O painting? I never left that trend behind. I have a palette of metallic watercolors that I just love, even though they're not high-quality. I dearly love my Prismacolors, and I'd happily take them to a desert isle.

I was so sad I couldn't pick both, lol. I love both and a lot of time I will use both in the same project. Lay down my base colors with markers, add my shading/details with pencils. I also use a lot of watercolors, inks, acrylic, gel pens, fine liners, crayons, etc... #addictedtocoloring

...and I use yet another option not really covered - watercolor pencils. I generally prefer markers for coloring stamped images, but I do use colored pencils, watercolor pencils, or watercolors with a brush (any or all of these), depending on the size and detail level of the stamped image. And kate, I still use my Twinkling H2Os too - love them!!

My hands start to hurt if I color with pencil too long, so marker all the way.
