Ugh. Over the summer the AC/Heater unit went out in my studio. Didn't want to have to replace it but we did because they said thats what it needed. Two weeks after installing it it wouldn't work so they came out and fixed it. Great! Everything works. Today was the first time that I've needed the heat part of the unit...and when I turned it on, cold air is blowing out. Its currently 62 degrees in my scrapbook room. I really want to play in there today but its just too cold!

I woke up this morning and it was cold in our house. It was 65 degrees. It was a bit of a shock to the system.
Last night a water pipe blew out in our laundry room. It was water, water everywhere. Ha. So no shower or flushing today since my husband had to teach this morning. He had two hours in between his teaching and then training job. He ran to Home Depot and got the stuff and had it fixed in about 15 minutes. Then our new neighbors' dogs broke through the fence and ended up trying to get into our house. I had the sliding glass door open just enough so my skinny little she-corgi can get in and out. They chased her into the house and one got his big head stuck in the door. Ha. I ended up putting a makeshift barrier on the fence while on a conference call. One of the pups (I found out) is quite sweet and the other tried to bite me as I pounded in nails. I knew I didn't have water, so I was extra careful.
AND today and tomorrow we are supposed to have highs of 80 and Thursday it is supposed to snow 4-6 inches. Our falls are always about 6 hours long.

Oh no! A few weeks back our ac went out, on a Friday at 4:30, when it was 101 outside. Thank God our heating and air people like us. We were fixed by 5:15, just in time for dd football game. Knowing our luck, something will happen with our heater. We haven’t turned it on yet this season. Throw on a few sweatshirts and craft <3

Of course, they accidentally ripped out the cord to the satellite so now I have no tv....they assure me they will fix it too.

They say they'll be back in the am. *sigh* I KNOW this is a first world problem. But I had stuff I really wanted to do in my albums before my DD stuff came on Thursday.

I don't remember a vent thread on the scrapbook board before - amazing! Ugh, mom, that would drive me batty. How frustrating to have multiple issues and still not be fixed!

I don't remember a vent thread on the scrapbook board before - amazing! Ugh, mom, that would drive me batty. How frustrating to have multiple issues and still not be fixed! I don’t either! LOL. But anything that interferes in scrapping or any kind of crafting can be super frustrating. My mini vent is the fact that I don’t currently have a TV in my craft room. Lightning struck the aluminum fence around the backyard and went through the wall and fried my cable box and the speakers on the TV that was in my kitchen. It was driving me crazy not having a TV in the kitchen while I made meals so we moved my craft room TV out there. We haven’t had a chance to move another TV in there yet and I do so miss it! But, I think the heat/air/water problems are far more frustrating!

Well, I decided to post it here in hopes people wouldn't tell me how petty I was being, correct my grammar or make it a political post! LOL You run that risk on the other side of the board! The repair guy that was supposed to be here this am has yet to show (its 2:00). He says he is trying to troubleshoot it with other professionals because I guess he has no clue why it isn't working. Its a brand new system. It should work. I am slightly starting to panic because we are supposed to get into the low 20's starting tomorrow night so my room is going to get sooo cold.

Its a bit early (usually its the end of October before we have our first hard freeze) but not unheard of. FWIW, I am wearing sandals today. Probably for the next month or so we will have freezing at night but then in the day it gets warmer (50-60's).

I'm putting the sandals aways because we're dropping below 25°C/77°F during the day now... I can't remember it ever being 20°F/-7°C where I live (I mean, it surely was at some point but that must've been a major weather fluke and exception). Eep! I really, really hope your AC/heating problem gets solved very quickly. This is just not ok with such temperatures.

Hoping to hear some good news on the heater front, mom. Is this only for scrap vents or can we vent in general? Booty's not happy with Handke getting the 2019 Nobel Prize in Literature or how Syria's getting effed again. Feels like an unfair day in the world and not many seem to care about either issues I'm upset about.

Yay!! Im sorry you feel like no one cares about the issues you care about. I don't know who Handke is (but just for you, I'll read up about him today!). I haven't been following the Turkey/Syria thing much (I'm limited my news because of all the headaches that come with American politics. I know - its a privileged perspective). I am not a fan of war though so I am sad about the innocent lives that are caught in the middle.

I have good news to report!!! Its 9:10 AM and they are already leaving! And its supposed to work! Yay!! Oh my, YES! I'm so happy for you. Let us know when your scrap space starts warming up. This calls for a nice cuppa in your studio! (no excuse not to start prepping for DD now, teehee) Im sorry you feel like no one cares about the issues you care about. Long story short: Handke is a prolific author and has some good writings (he was especially a hot commodity in the 1980s) but he's extremely problematic. He supported (and continues to) the Butcher of the Balkans AKA Milosevic who wasn't convicted of the 66 counts of crimes against humanity, genocide and war crimes during the Bosnian war for the sole reason that he died before they could pronounce the verdict (UGH). Then Handke went on to attend his burial as well. Nail in the proverbial coffin. So guess what? The Academy really wanted to hand Handke the Nobel but knew it would've been met with serious criticism (rightfully so) so they gave the retroactive 2018 Nobel Prize (given a year late due to a massive sexual misconduct and assault scandal within the Academy!) to a female author (thank you, dear male-led Academy, for giving women their 15th win versus 100 men, so grateful and hashtag blessed) who's a known anti-fascist and protestor to make up for it (and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth along the way because Olga Tokarzcuk's an incredible writer and the Books of Jacob is a literary masterpiece). It's just a parody at this stage. Supposedly, the Academy has cleaned up their act after the major sex scandal but eh, still as calculating and biased as ever. Meanwhile, Maryse Condé, Joyce Carol Oates and Anne Carson (we're due a poet, merde) are all aging and just being shown another middle finger. Heck, Margaret Atwood could've taken the the Prize at this stage and it would've been fine despite being on the nose. There were plenty of non-problematic, more than deserving male literary legends to pick from as well (Ismaïl Kadaré, Haruki Murakami, Adonis, Ngugi wa Thiong’o). But no, Peter f*ckin' Handke. Cherry on top of the sh*t cake: Handke spoke out publicly against the Nobel Prize for Literature, claiming it should be abolished in 2014. But he's now planning on collecting the medal and prize money because of course... I guess the Swedish Academy won't be getting the Nobel Prize for Peace next year? Or maybe they will? I give up on logics for the day. I'm not happy. At all. Don't get me started on Syria. This is a Booty-is-mad-at-the-world kind of day. Don't mind my venting and ranting. *steps off soapbox*

I agree - there seems to be better choices without all the baggage that Handke has. Sorry you are having a 'the world is a shit hole' kind of day. I hope it gets better.
