Psycho
ETA:
The Ring
Invasion of the Body Snatchers Train to Busan Night of the Living Dead The Fly 30 Days of Night
The Thing Get Out Quiet Place Final Destination An American Werewolf in London The Birds
Train to Busan is excellent. It's a Korean film about Zombies but it's so well done you don't even realize you are reading subtitles. If you haven't tried Korean scary movies give them a try. I've watched it twice and I've been scared both times.

Hereditary was pretty effed up, and not what I was expecting. All I could think was what the hell did I just watch? for this child of the 80’s money, Watcher in the Woods is her scariest movie. Ha! I feel like it's a tie with The Lady in White and The Changeling

Mr Brooks is hands down my favorite horror/thriller movie ever. I think it is absolute perfection. Kevin Costner and William Hurt give stunning performances. This movie was supposed to be the 1st of a trilogy. But they didn’t hype it very well when it came out in the theaters, and it didn’t do very well. So no sequels. 😢.
American Psycho. I love Christian Bales performance, and how perfectly it depicts the excess in every facet of his life.
I am a sucker for the old movies: Psycho, The Birds, The Haunting, House on Haunted Hill are all favs that are required October viewing.
Halloween! I love it because it’s plausible. Maybe not the escaped mental patient part but the part about the guy stalking and killing teens is.
The Scream series. I love all of them. Even shitty #4.
Les Diaboliques! It’s amazing! Turn the lights off, and be prepared to read subtitles because it’s in French. But it is worth it!
Horror movies that I think are good but don’t necessarily want to watch every year:
Hereditary: this movie is insane. Toni Collette is amazing in it, and she does something so freaky that it seriously haunted me for months after I watched it. The atmosphere and storyline are scary as hell.
Insidious: this movie is excellent. It scared the crap right out of me the first time I saw it. I thought it was going to be like The Children of the Corn or some other hokey horror movie, but it’s not.
The Conjuring. This is wonderfully freaky and it sticks with you for a while after you watch it. Such a well made horror movie.
Funny Scary Movies:
Boo-the Tyler Perry Madea movie. It’s great!
Scary Movie 2. Absolutely hilarious.

The Haunting of Hill House mini-series, although I haven't finished it yet. The scariest movie ever Return to Oz. Who thought that was a kid movie? The 80's... I loved Return to Oz as a kid! I rented it all the time. 😂. I bought it in college, and I’m hoping to show it to my kids this year.

And then in 2 finding out the back story of the evil.

Since I mentioned Korean scary films as being great I thought I'd list a few.
Besides "Train to Busan" my other favorite scary Korean film is "I saw the Devil"
A few more are:
The Host-also excellent The Wailing Old Boy Ring-this is the orginal Korean version that the movie "The Ring" was based on.

Halloween is my all-time favorite ! So many good ones mentioned here.
Don’t miss The Strangers ! The original with Liv Tyler is the best; the recent remake isn’t bad either. The Strangers keeps my husband in his seat for the whole movie !

My 80’s favorite horror movie was Creep Show. I don’t remember all of it but I’ll never forget the cockroaches.

You guys! If you are looking for something scary to watch, watch Marianne on Netflix! It is super scary! It’s a tv show, it has 8 episodes. It was filmed in French, but they dubbed it in English so you’re not having to read subtitles the whole time. Just sometimes. It is about a witch and nightmares. I am on episode 5 right now.

Saw. Would you like to play a game? The Bone Collector The Conjuring whatever
I started watching this movie channel we got and there was a couple staying at a cabin and some people came and terrorized them. It was based on a true store. Ring any bells? Was that The Others?
Final Destination

I am too chicken to watch either. Stories about home invasion and terrorization scare the hell out of me.

The Orphanage, I believe it's a Spanish movie. It's just perfect for halloween, it's so, so creepy.
I also like Trick Or Treat, it's kinda cheesy, but isn't that one of the best parts og halloweenmovies?

They did something to the car too. Slashed the tire or cut the transmission.

Do you mean Trick or Treat from the 80’s or Trick ‘r Treat which is more recent and may actually be scary? I just saw Trick or Treat at our local theater as part of an all night Horrorthon. It is beyond cheesy, but I did love seeing Ozzy in it, his role was hysterical.

But there’s the home invasion aspect to think about. But it’s a Peele movie, and Get Out was so crazy good. And that’s why I haven’t seen it yet. Because I can’t decide one way or another.
