scrapmaven .....Have fun at the show tonight! Who knew we had a magician in our tribe? Are you a fan of Penn and Teller and/or David Copperfield? How about that guy (Chris ____ ?) from Vegas with the cool hair? He had a TV show for a while, something like "Mind Bender"..... ? I used to do magic growing up and we're both fans of prestadigitationI LOVE learning new words, and had to google: The secret to performing magic tricks is all in the hands-or at least, that's what is suggested by the etymologies of prestidigitation and its two synonyms legerdemain and sleight of hand. The French word preste (from Italian presto) means "quick" or "nimble," and the Latin word digitus means "finger."
Actually, I learned TWO new words today....I knew what "sleight of hand" meant, but never heard of "legerdemain" or "prestadigitation". I'm a huge Penn and Teller fan. Their Vegas show is really fun. Many years ago I saw David Copperfield in Vegas and he did a really cool show. His show is more romantic and like a musical. Penn and Teller are basically a comedy team who perform magic. Plus, they're very kind men who do a lot for their community.

Thread stealing: This place has clean up so nice that I am now wanting to pull it off the market and keep it for a vacation home. I can see turning it to a hunting camp type compound. Fees from that would pay the taxes and fees for a year, But brother left it to my husband and the other 2 brothers and they want “their” money, NOW! ( so much so that they want to force my husband into accepting whatever offer comes in. ) Have your DH buy them out... We can’t afford it. Or I would.

I'm making a mini Thanksgiving Day meal with turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and gravy. I am halving all my recipes since there are only 3 of us. Ooooh, that sounds SO yummy! if I'd seen this earlier, I would have invited myself over, AND brought all kinds of pies, plus, a bouquet of fresh flowers for the hostess, of course!!!

Struggling with the exhaustion from the Fibromyalgia and getting horribly frustrated with the limitations. DH & the Boy are sharing in the work load too. *sigh* MsKnit-----That sounds so hard....(( hugs )) Penn and Teller are basically a comedy team who perform magic. Plus, they're very kind men who do a lot for their community. That's nice to learn that about them. I've only seen snippets of their shows on various TV shows, so I don't know much about their performances, but I have always been SO curious what that guy's VOICE sounds like!!! By the by, I saw the tall one (the one that SPEAKS!) on some obscure show recently (had nothing to do with magic, he was playing a very philosophical guy who was talking about some deep topics). I have no idea when the program was filmed, but he looked so different sans his glasses, plus, he appeared to have lost a lot of weight.

You have inspired me to pull out some Fall decor, jeremysgirl. I don't really decorate for Halloween any more except to put up ghost lights on the 30th or 31st, but I do have pumpkins and fall leaves banners that can stay up through Thanksgiving. I did pick up a bunch of real mini-pumpkins and knobby gourds at Trader Joe's this week and they are on a cake plate on the table. Happy Anniversary, destined2bmom! scrappintoee, I'm happy to hear your pain is better and the arm healing. Have fun at the magic show tonight, scrapmaven! DH and I had a "meeting" this morning to discuss our diet. I'm really annoyed that, after bugging me for months to listen to every vegan Ted Talk or Youtuber out there, follow Forks Over Knives and read whatever vegan article he passed on to me, he thinks we are moving too fast and seems to want me to provide vegan with meat meals. I guess I didn't give him enough time to say goodbye to meat even though this is all his frigging idea. I had to take off for a couple volunteer gigs at a local Pride event so we left it that he would decide what he wanted to do before the end of the weekend. I'm drowning my frustration in Carrot Ginger soup with a slice of rye bread.

The silent one (Teller?) did a guest gig on Big Bang Theory as Amy Farrah Fowler’s dad when she and Sheldon got married. Maybe the last couple of episodes of the second-to-last season? He kept trying to talk, but his domineering wife would steamroll over him. Knowing who he was, it was hilarious. Finally, toward the end, he got to speak a line. I think it’s the only time I’ve ever heard him speak.

Drove to my dad’s. He didn’t seem any worse than usual. Wanted to go for a car ride which involved the park and my making him walk a little. Then when I got ready to leave he was staring so intently out the window. When I asked him what he was looking at he said “Your mother is out there”. So I went with it and asked what’s she doing? He said spreading ashes. I wait and before I leave I ask if she’s still out there & he says no. Last night he wouldn’t get in bed apparently because she was sleeping g in it. Also my sister who asked me to come injured her back lifting him. So that’s why she’s so emotional. Why she couldn’t just say that? I don’t know. I would have gone yesterday. Had pizza from my favorite hometown place on the way out of town. KelleeM it’s so nice you have such good memories of Dick. Happy Anniversary @destined2bemom

teddyw.....I'm so sorry about everything with your Dad! It must have been heartbreaking to hear him say what he thought he saw. I need to remember to be THANKFUL that although it's been rough sometimes having my Dad move in, he doesn't have dementia or anything else that's serious. (( hugs ))
