Everything is Fall/Autumn, pumpkins, trucks with trees in them, apple picking, Thanksgiving...nothing is more generic. I need ephemera and stickers for a Fall vacation, but the only things I could really find that would fit were flowers that I had custom colored on Etsy to match the Simple Stories Fall collection.
What do y’all use if your not going Apple or pumpkin picking??? None of the travel collections are the right colors.

There is no such thing as apple picking, pumpkin patches or Thanksgiving around here so I've never had any use for those sentiments. What I can recommend is mixing of collections to build your own autumn travel kit. Papers from a typical autumn line + some embellishments that don't scream summer from travel lines. If you'll be hiking or taking nature walks during your vacation, it's also worth taking a look at the embellies from camping lines that might have sentiments and icons related to such things. If you're headed to a city, it's a little more difficult as urban collections aren't common but there are still possibilities such as Shimelle's Sparkle City. It's a puzzle but you can get there with some flexibility and an open mind. Definitely not mission impossible.

My first opinion is to just use some of the apples and pumpkins etc. Just because your activities didn't involve those items specifically, you still had an Autumn vacation and those things are related to the season. If you just can't do that, stick with more of the B sides of the papers so that you have the color schemes, but more neutral patterns. Stripes, plaids, etc. And, I think leaves could be pretty neutral too. JMO.

I haven't been to the ocean in over 20 years. Too many are beach themed or don't match the kind of extremely dry summers I experience. My solution is not buying them or only buying papers that don't have a strong theme to them. I rarely buy any of the embellishments.

I’m using last year’s Pink Paislee Auburn Lane for cards and pocket pages this year. I love the colors in it for fall. It’s one of my favorites ever, and I picked up even more of it this year at Tuesday Morning.

I love fall colors and often used the non-themed papers from a collection for other layouts. They often go well with sunsets or shots that have an afternoon glow. I have used them to scrap European towns as the colors go well with old buildings. I just don’t buy the stickers or the pumpkin papers.

I bought a bunch of "The Yellow Door" by Fancy Pants and it will be my go-to again this year for fall pages. You can make it "more fall", or not fall at all, and customize with your own specific accents if you want. Super versatile.

I’m not a themey scrapper, so using a lot of the things out there don’t really work for me. I’ve already picked out the new Simple Stories Autumn Splendor to use, so whatever I decide to use has to go with that. I have the ephemera that is mostly leaves, and the other that I picked a few pieces out of, and the chipboard, but there’s just not enough stuff. I have purchased a few random papers, Thicker words and floral diecuts, but there’s not many of those, so I had to resort to buying digital floral collections and having them custom colored to match the SS collection. I’m just not sure I have enough stuff. I like to layer, so I may be able to cover up some of the parts I don’t want. We’ll see what all I need when I ready to scrap it all.

I love the suggestions so far, and I'll add in about every other collection by Jen Hadfield.
I like Heidi Swapp's Wolf Pack for fall too.
And Pink Paislee's Indigo and Ivy. The blues have a denim kind of feel for me for fall, not just a summer/water association.

I might suggest some wood words and pieces. I think it would mix in nice. And of course, enamel dots!

And......in the Southern Hemisphere it is spring and no one is going back to school in the middle of the year.....so I feel your pain for different reasons And...while we’re moaning..ain’t no snow in Australia at Christmas,...no one wants to be cozy with mittens/hot drinks /snowmen/fires in 40 degree Celsius heat And.......foxes and rabbits are vermin and NOT cute in anyway... There- I’ve said it ...off to put on my flame retardant suit.....!

The new lines at JoAnn's have a fall vibe (colorwise) to them. Not all stores have the papers out though.

There- I’ve said it ...off to put on my flame retardant suit.....! I have been known to crank the air conditioning WAY up (down?) at Christmas time and light a scented candle to pretend that we're all cozy. But I also make the absolute most out of Christmas in July now so that I can feel some of that holiday coziness.
Southern Hemisphere producers could be one to look at for fall/autumn-themed products that don't have all of the themey icons incorporated. I know Kaisercraft put out a line last year called Peachy which was all burnt orange/rust/brown-y colours and not an icon in sight!

I have enough enamel dots for 5 vacations, and 7 packages I bought just for this one! LOL!!!

This is why I'm a B-side scrapper... and I use pretty generic shapes and icons for embellishments. Fall here doesn't include apples or pumpkins; summer here (desert) NEVER includes beach stuff; Christmas here doesn't include snowflakes, snowmen, mittens, or scarves... The only 'kits' I buy are home or pet related. Other than that, I buy random pkgs of embellishments, etc. to make my own mixes of supplies.

Its so hard to find themed collections that fit your own seasons, I always feel strange scrapping with pumpkin cozy paper and its 90+ degrees out.

I use a lot of leaves. I also have a pretty big wood veneer stash, but I'm almost out of travel ones because they match every season IMO.

What "more generic" items are you expecting or would like to see in future fall collections? I'm themed-challenged, so typically use classic patterned papers & actual memorabilia as embellishments & may include a leaf or acorn outline stamp, stencil, or embossing folder as a subtle nod to the theme.

I have that problem with beach/pool themed items which are in summer collections. We travel in the spring & fall so I don't have a use for a lot of the word/text papers & embellishments. The papers I can work around no problem but the sticker or chipboard pieces are challenging and in a way wasteful.

Prima has pretty fall colored flowers, and Creative Embellishments has a lot of fall themed laser cut chipboard.

In the end, 1/2 of our plans ended up not happening, so I didn’t need some of what I was looking for (saved me a bit of money!) Still wish I could find more diecuts that are fall colored flowers and phrases that didn’t include the words Fall Or Autumn. In the one pack of diecuts I have, there are several pieces with one word or the other. I don’t need those words on every page.
May, or may not use pumpkins, as we really didn’t see any. I sure wish SS would do a floral pack in fall colors that went with their leaf set. I love those!

I am lucky to live near a beach, but being in the PNW there isn’t much sunbathing or frolicking in the surf, our water is cold, even in summer. The beach stuff is always too cheery for our beaches. I just find papers I like that match the colors of the pictures I am using, lots of rich reds and deep oranges with some pretty browns would be perfect for fall pictures around here.
