Early this morning at the age of 68.
May he rest in peace.
I apologize; I should have posted a link:

The House Oversight Chair? From Maryland? I have to google. I'm very sorry to hear this news. I felt he was a key player in this Impeachment.

A terrible loss for the ones who loved him and whom he served. It makes me ill to think that the POTUS will without a doubt be making inappropriate statements about him and his legacy before the day is done. 😔

I did not realize he was only 68. The older I get, the younger that seems.
His voice will be a real loss in Congress.

This news was a punch to the gut. Such a fine man, statesman, and dedicated to integrity and the greatness that can be America. This is a great loss.
Only the good die young....

So very sad for his family. May they find peace and comfort. He is now dancing with the angles. He has been using a walker during interviews of late.
May he be remembered well and his memories be treated appropriately by everyone!

Literally yelled NO when this was the first thing I saw on my phone this morning.
Just an incredible loss to the country and to the constituents he has served for so many years.

I woke up to hear the news and was instantly very saddened. He did a lot for racial equality. He carried himself with dignity and he cared about people and our Country. He stood up to corruption and everything wrong in this world.
I had no idea that he was in his 60's. For some reason I assumed that he was in his 80's. God bless him. We lost a great man.

I was lucky enough to meet with Mr. Cummings 3 times over the years and my dd interviewed with him to get a bid for USAFA. He was always warm, attentive, and genuine in each encounter with him. He was also our congressman. His district covered much more than just Baltimore and has wide socioeconomic diversity, even through it was made to seem otherwise. I hope his replacement will be a Democratic Party representative. I am not sure how/who decides that is MD.
ETA: I just read there will be a special election, not a governor appointed representative. Good to hear.
