Hey Survivors! I'm posting this thread nice and early today because I got called out last week for not posting Here's what my DVR has to say about the episode tonight: "One castaway contemplates throwing an immunity challenge to rid their tribe of a weak player." Doesn't a similar discussion happen almost every season? I wonder which team and which player this is referring to ...

Was there another thread calling you out or are you referring to the thread that I started? If you're referring to my thread being the one to "call you out" I think you're being dramatic. But carry on.

Loved that person being voted out. It'll be interesting to see how loved one takes it.

This should serve as a lesson to any dumbass that thinks it's a good idea to throw a challenge. ESPECIALLY when one makes that decision all on their own. I am as thrilled with him being gone as John Rocker last week.

On behalf of all viewers, thank you for voting the jackasses out early Survivor players.
I love that Drew threw that comp (doesn't he know that's almost always a bad move?) and was so damn cocky about everything! My gosh, he wouldn't even listen to anyone else. I loved it when he said, all exasperated like, "everyone's getting their own opinion". Like how dare them! His constant referral to himself as a manipulator, leader, mastermind, etc. was crazy! The guy had a messiah complex or something. Plus, I really didn't want Kelly to go; I liked her.
Old guy that decided he was going to out Jeremy and his idol was a fool. Just listening to him talk at TC made it clear that he is clueless about the game.
Can't wait to see Alex's fCe when he sees Drew is gone.

Talking about voting out Kelly right in front of Kelly had to have been a red flag for everyone else. He is an idiot.

I was so happy to see Drew get voted out tonight-he completely deserved it! I cannot believe I actually had him picked to win it all (not this was before the first episode every aired just from watching the tribe intro videos) when he said that his brother Alec talked too much and that's why I picked Drew. After the very first episode I knew I'd made a mistake and quickly switched my pick to Alec who really hasn't said that much up until this episode. Can you believe what Alec said to "who was it tonight about how his father always made him wash the cars and do it right never half-assed, would really ride him to do a job correctly? How his father would never even bother to ask Drew to do anything because he could never get Drew to do it?" Well, we all can see how that turned out, and what kind of person it made Drew turn into vs. the type of strong worker Alec turned into.
I cannot believe Drew threw that immunity challenge on purpose by himself! I mean I do believe that's what he did but, what an ego! Did we ever see one that big on the show? To actually plan one yourself and not let even one other player in on it just because you yourself decide it's time to get rid of some people on your own tribe? We've had Coach, we've had Boston Rob, but that guy's ego was enormous and not even deserved! He did nothing to help his tribe but sleep! They did a great thing getting rid of him tonight. Yes, I know it's smart to keep your bigger, athletic players in the beginning but that guy had to go. Anyone who decides to throw a challenge on his own has to go!
And yes Jackie once again I agree with you-Keith (I think that's his name) the firefighter with the Southern accent hasn't a clue how to play this game! He made an alliance with Jeremy (they are both firemen for gosh sakes! and then he goes and pulls that tonight? And of course he was dead wrong. What the heck was his strategy for doing it anyway? Now he's got Jeremy mad at me (rightly so) and gunning for him to get voted out and he's got Jeremy walking around telling the tribe that Keith can't be trusted-which he can't since he just broke his alliance. Honestly the way he was just shuffling the dirt around with the stick I was shocked he even found the immunity idol when the did! Good thing too-he's going to need it now.
Previews for next week-a team mix up already? Isn't it a little early for that? I wish they would have waited another week or two.

What I really can't believe is that Alec used that "story" to explain to Baylor why he was telling her to clean the pot again. He may be a harder worker than his brother and not as arrogant but adults don't generally respond well to someone telling them "My dad would tell me when I was half-assing things and it made me work harder and I want to do the same to you." His heart may be in the right place (I'm undecided on that) but as an adult, I wouldn't have cared for that as well. I also lol when Baylor snatched that piece of paper out of his hand after he got upset about her snatching it the first time. I KNOW she had to do that to deliberately antagonize him. And that brings me to another point. I know that Survivor is brutal and it's probably VERY difficult to behave yourself under those conditions, but I am still surprised at the people that behave in such a petty way with each other, argue, etc. Most of the people that do well in this game bite their tongues. They don't get into these squabbles, they don't offend deliberately, etc. I see very, very few people behaving that way this season. Talking about voting out Kelly right in front of her is another example (like you pointed out Debbie). You just do NOT know how things are going to go. If you treat everyone as respectfully as you can, you really put yourself in a great position. Are we 100% sure he threw it by himself w/o telling anyone? I mean I think that's very possible that he did, but why did Jeremy and John (two very strong players) sit out? I guess they could be not strong swimmers. But when I saw them sit out, I was kind of surprised. Regardless, the guy's ego IS enormous as you said. And I really wouldn't put it past to him to do it on his own. And you're right, no one has ever done that before that I can think of. Drew was just so certain he knew what was best for the tribe and exactly how everything should go. It was NUTS. Others egomaniacs at least PRETENDED they were listening to the rest of the tribe. Watching his expression when he got voted out was wonderful, truly wonderful. I agree Debbie, when I saw Keith (thanks for the name) scratching in the dirt with the stick and claiming "nope, idol's not here, Jeremy has to have it" I thought "are you kidding me?". That looked like the most pathetic example of searching for an idol I've ever seen. The fact that he later FOUND it is astounding. And yeah, when he sait tribal council telling Jeremy we only had an alliance of two and that doesn't work. And then scoffed at Jeremy when he Jeremy said that it could have been a sub-alliance, I could tell he was an idiot where Survivor is concerned. A sub-alliance of two within a larger alliance is EXACTLY how this game is won! That is the idea situation Keith, you fool! Now no one trusts you! You do realize that right? No. One. Trusts. You. Love that they're switching things up next week. It's too early for a merge though so probably just swapping the tribe around a little, right?

I loved it! I love a good blindside. Although, there are two kinds -- there's a blindside of someone who's dumb but basically nice (like Erik), and then there's the blindside of someone who's dumb and an idiot. lol. That would be Drew. I don't think it usually ends very well for the ones who think they're running the show. Sometimes it does, obviously, but those people are truly smart at playing the game and manipulating people. Ones like Drew are just arrogant with nothing much to back it up.
And I have to confess.... as much as I disliked The Twinnies on "Amazing Race", Natalie is growing on me. Separated from her Twinnie she's not bad, and she is a good worker and seems to hold her own in the challenges.

So much more tolerable without the constant fast-talking, bickering, banter that those two seemed to carry on with endlessly! Every time the two of them would get on camera together I would feel stressed out just listening to them babble on at 100 mph.

I loved how Jon whispered "well played girls" when the blindside came down. Take that boys !!! Drew was an ass and it was so obvious he was throwing the challenge, he was just clumsy, throwing way off. No one on the tribe could see that?

Well, I give him a little credit for not announcing to anyone in his tribe that he threw the challenge. I thought for sure the egomaniac wouldn't have been able to keep his mouth shut. Although, he did shoot himself in the foot by blaming the swimmers & retrievers for losing it for them and then saying he had done the best he could. I can't believe anyone on that tribe didn't vote him out.
So glad he's gone.
What's with the Jeremy's strategy of not getting rid of one of each pair? It would seem to me that that would be the best way to go. Who wants any pair coming back together for the merge?
Keith, you dumbass. Not only is it stupid to knife your ally in the back, but did it ever occur to you that Rocker had the idol? He went to Exile, too!
And fwiw, I don't think the girls had an all girl alliance going - at least not before this vote. The only reason it looks that way is because the guys couldn't decide who to vote for. And it had nothing to do w/voting out a member of the opposite sex. The girls (and at least one of the guys) wanted Drew out because he was a jackass. Had nothing to do w/him being a guy.
And while I really don't care for Baylor, who is he (the laziest one on the tribe) to tell her how to do anything? No one cares what your father made you do. And even if they did, you're not her father!
Agreed - it's definitely too soon for a merge. Maybe it's a trick? Remember that one season where they all lived together for an episode or 2, but weren't actually merged?

Just because you and I are both firefighters doesn't mean we're going to be in an alliance. What if I don't like you? What if I don't like your game play? I'm going to need more than that to be in alliance with you.

After watching Big Brother all summer and every week having everyone vote the same like lemmings, I found last night's voting to be refreshing. The blindside was a good one and certainly deserved. I'm tired of having so many hidden idols. I don't think the tribe caught on that he threw the challenge. Yes, the remaining twinnie is looking a lot smarter than in the past.

I loved last nights episode.....Drew is an idiot. I also like the one twinnie that is there, Natalie I think...I did not see her on the Amazing Race so had no pre-conceived opinions about her.
I also thought it was too soon to merge so maybe they are just going to visit and live at one tribe's camp, but still be 2 separate teams??? Who knows.
I was shouting at the TV for Keith to shut up when he called Jeremy out about supposedly having an idol....stupid, stupid move.
So far I'm liking this season.

I have to say that I also didn't get it when the one guy was saying to go after someone that didn't have a loved one there. When people have a loved one at the merge, that's two votes together right there, so his reasoning didn't make sense.

I think that was John. Since his girlfriend is still there, he must be trying to make that an advantage instead of a disadvantage.

Glad to see Drew is gone. Couldn't of happened to a better person! I hope Baylor is next! She drives me crazy. I think Jeremy is loyal to a fault. He takes everything to heart. He would make a great alliance member if you never consider changing your mind or opinion of something, and I think that will be his demise.

Jackie-I completely agree with you that Alec telling Baylor to clean the pot that way (his tone and how he asked, or rather told her maybe he should have offered to clean the pot), but we also don't know how they divide the labor-maybe it was her turn to clean the pot? I do see what you are saying, but I think what he was doing was trying to tell a bit of his history regarding how his father treated him vs. Drew. Can you imagine growing up in a house where Drew was the golden boy who never had to do anything and Alec was the one who had to do all of the chores and dirty work? That was what I was talking about. The imbalance of it all. It's shocking to me because I'm the oldest of 4 siblings who's father tried his very best to treat us all equally and still does to this day. Not one of us every got favouritism. But-I do agree he was wrong to talk to Baylor that way, and he could have used better wording. Then again, when have men been the best as far as verbal stuff goes plus they are all hungry. I'm sure he didn't mean it the way it sounded-at least I don't think so. I can't help it-so far I like Alec. I like a lot of the players this season, but I really feel a soft spot of Alec having to grow up that way.
Are we 100% sure no one else knew about the idea to throw the challenge. No, but I do think if that had been the case they would have shown us some film of at least someone back at camp talking about it before the immunity challenge took place with Drew. To not show anything at all, and to show us only Drew saying to the camera that he's going to throw it makes the audience (us) think it was only Drew's idea. I've never thought of Survivor as a show that likes to play THAT much with the audience's emotions. I think they'd make too many fans too pissed-on the other hand they do love to make us second guess, don't they? And it was odd that two of the strongest male athletes set out on that challenge-Jeremy and John (like you pointed out Jackie) unless they were terrible swimmers. Still those two could have stayed on the platform and done the ring tossing thing at the end, right? They didn't have to do the swimming parts, because not all of the team players participated in the swimming, did they? I'd have to re watch it to make sure. Wouldn't it be funny if after next week's "throw down your buff's" team mix up we find out the rest of the team knew about Drew's planned idea to throw the immunity challenge? Would that change our ideas about him? Na! He's still a dick! Glad to have him gone.
Jackie-you credited me with "talking about voting out Kelly right in front of her" but that was actually GaleW who said that. And you are both right! What a horrible, nasty, callous, disgusting, way of acting on Survivor! Someone said, "she's right there" to spare her feelings hoping Drew would shut up, but he just said, "I don't care" and went on talking. Who does that? What does he do for a living again? I can't imagine him succeeding in real life with the attitude he displayed on Survivor if he behaved like that in a job, can you? Hopefully he works for himself, by himself.
So Jackie you're happy the tribes are switching it up next week? I guess it's about time since we've got one team who's lost so much and one team who's dominated. It should make things interesting.
And I agree about Natalie. She's really grown on me being out here without her twin-her tone level has gone down quite a few notches and she seems to be having a chance to find out who she is by herself. Which can be a good thing, right? I loved what she did after the challenge when she egged on the other tribe about John Rocker (and it worked! The got rid of him) and she seems to be getting along well with her tribe and working hard.

Maybe this is the first time she's actually been without her sister. She is so much more likeable when she's not arguing all the time. Since the only time I'd seen her was actually with her sister, I just assumed that was her personality. So far though, that doesn't seem to be the case. She's much more likeable now. I'm anxious to see if that lasts. I think Jeremy is loyal to a fault. He takes everything to heart.
