LSU travels to play Mississippi State this weekend in what is supposed to be a very wet game. Hopefully that won't affect the outcome. Two years ago the Bulldogs embarrassed us 37-7! Joe Burrow is getting a lot of buzz for the Heisman Trophy and is leading in an ESPN poll.
Who does your team play?

Penn State has a big game on Saturday against Michigan - it's a white out night game and ESPN Game Day will be here. PSU vs Michigan is always a challenge and this game will tell whether we deserve our #7 ranking. 😁 Hopefully the answer will be yes.
GO LIONS!!!!!

Will be cheering for Texas Tech to win over Iowa State. Hopefully Auburn will win over Arkansas. But as Ms. State learned last week, don't assume anything! Having given up on Ole Miss and Miss. State, will be surprised (pleasantly) if either of them pulls out a win. Just hoping for not too embarrassing scores from them both. LSU travels to play Mississippi State this weekend in what is supposed to be a very wet game. Hopefully that won't affect the outcome. Funny! Weather is the least of Miss. State's problems. We're just hoping the score isn't as bad as we anticipate. I'll just go ahead and congratulate you on an LSU win now. At least the coach has picked a single quarterback to play this game. It's probably too little, too late though. Dear Santa, we'd like a new coach for Christmas!

Uh oh, that's the kiss of death for LSU! I know at some point all the team will be thinking about is the game against Bama and that's when another team will swoop in and beat them.

My Oklahoma Sooners play West Virginia in Norman. West Virginia always gives the Sooners a good game. Hopefully our defense will play as well as they did against Texas last week. I'll be at the game cheering on the Sooners!

Clemson travels to Louisville this week. It's a noon game and I don't like those- they mess up my day. The spread is 22 points, but you never know what will happen. I may just record it and watch later. GO TIGERS!!!

LSU beat Miss State 36-13 and Joe Burrow broke a number of school records. Geaux Jeaux! While Miss State got a season record of 13 penalties in the game. From what we are hearing/reading, it looks like Moorehead has one foot out the door on his way to Rutgers. Can't happen soon enough. Congratulations on the win. Vanderbilt just upset #22 Missouri. Also cannot believe that Georgia and Ky are tied at 0 at halftime. Shocked that Georgia has no points on the board. What has happened to them?

One more thing: late in the 3rd quarter, a Miss State defender pretty much pulled Joe Burrow's pants off. Showed his butt and CBS replayed it several times. Pundits came of the woodwork with quips: Miss State finally finds a crack in Joe's armor and Joe Burrow is playing his ass off. I don't blame Joe for taking the sack.

My Terps lost again! They are terrible!
Pitt beat Syracuse! I think they will be back in the ACC Championship game this year, maybe they will beat Clemson this time.

Oklahoma beats West Virginia 52-14!
My husband and I and another couple had just gotten home from the OU game and sat down at our favorite hamburger joint in time to see Burrow's bare behind. We looked at each other and said "Did we just see what we think we saw?" Then we laughed and said it was a good thing he was young and in good shape. It would have traumatized the nation if our rear ends had been hanging out on national tv!

The Buckeyes played Northwestern last night. I’ve been able to just enjoy watching today’s games without getting anxious about Ohio State.

Tua had to leave the game due to injury! I am not an Alabama fan, by any means, but I hope that it is nothing serious and that he’ll play the rest of the season. He is an amazing quarterback.

I totally lost respect for Tennessee's coach the way he treated his QB. Totally unacceptable behavior !

As predicted, it was definitely a challenge. Lots of mistakes were made, but we were lucky to walk away with the W.

Thankfully the Huskers had the week off. Hopefully some of our injured players have time to recover.

I have a question along with a rant! So, Clemson has dropped to #4 this week while OSU moved up to #3 and Alabama stayed at #1. It just seems as if we are getting slowly knocked down one by one each week even though there are no losses. Yes, I know the 1 point win against NC dropped us, but come on. Alabama wasn't exactly rolling all over Tennessee before Tua got hurt. I know OSU beat the crap out of Northwestern but again a 1 and 5 team... I know it really doesn't mean anything right now, but it really frustrates me! I don't guess there was a question, other than why no respect? I know the ACC sucks but that's not Clemson's fault.

I think some of it has to do with Lawrence’s performance so far this season. The season is half over and he already has twice the interceptions (8) as all season last year (4). His quarterback rating is good, but not great. His QB rating is 78.9, while the ratings of the QBs in the teams ahead of Clemson are all in the 90’s. Clemson hasn’t lost, but also hasn’t been the juggernaut that they were last year. As long as you guys are in the top 4, there are no worries - you guys are really good and will make the CFP.

elaine - I never considered QBs... I think that the top 6 teams - all unbeaten - are so close (especially the top 5) that things like QB rating and strength of schedule impact where they fall in the rankings. Lawrence’s performance does make a difference when they decide whether LSU - which is also undefeated - should be ranked above or below Clemson. So many factors - not just win record - play into it. Not that Clemson can help it, but playing in the ACC gives them a weaker strength of schedule than that of the SEC teams and that impacts where they fall in the rankings too. Again, Clemson is really really good. And as long as you are in the top 4, you will get your shot at the championship. Psychologically, I think it is better to be 4 than 1. Your guys will be motivated by being disrespected, rather than if they were #1 and had a huge target on their backs that other teams would be motivated to take down.

I agree w/ everything elaine said, and just want to add the only poll that really matters is the CFP rankings which doesn’t even start until November 9th. Even then, the only CFP rankings which really matters is the one they release on December 8th which determines who goes to the playoffs.

Yes -and by then LSU will have played Alabama and OSU played Penn St. I read a FB article where Urban Meyer was talking about how what a committee member "thinks" shouldn't be a factor in the final 4. He calls it the "look" test or "eye" test. I know putting in a point system would be kind of like going back to the days of the BCS... I used to make my students use that formula back in the day after they made their predictions. I'll get my panties out of a wad now- it's a new week!
