I recently purchased Levi jeans from Macy's, online in petite. I got black and dark wash and I love them. They are called 311 shaping skinny but I find they are not super tight on my legs like a skinny jean. I have a well nourished belly and I find these jeans fit me perfectly! They are more of a straight leg and I am impressed with the fit and how well they wash. There is some stretch but they do not get saggy while wearing them. I am thrilled with them!

I think the skinny tapered leg will look better than a straight leg cut.

I love the jeans at Torrid. My feeling is... if you’re overweight (me too), buy from a store that specializes in plus size. They just fit and feel better, in my opinion.

I wear mostly skinny jeans, my favorites are Joe's, Silver & Miss Me. For straight leg, I like Silver, Lucky & Miss Me. I've never tried Joe's in anything but skinny, but I'm sure I'd like them, I love the pair I have.

Just popping back in to say that the black slim boot jeans I ordered from Torrid arrived and they are great. Their jeans fit so well IMO. (These particular jeans are looong, as bootcut jeans often are. I’m 5’5” and ordered the short length, and they touch the ground if I’m not wearing shoes. Nothing a trip to the tailor wouldn’t fix if I was shorter, though. Overall, I think Torrid jeans are good about having appropriate lengths. I’m average height and the regular length is usually perfect for me. Unlike so many plus size stores that seem to assume that a woman who is a size 16-18 must also be six feet tall.)

Skinny jeans. I was really surprised at how well they fit me and how good I looked in them. I am fluffy all over. You should try them!
I don’t love Stitch Fix for a lot of things. But when I need new jeans I will request a box of them in all different cuts. I’ve not been disappointed by a jeans box from them.

Thanks everyone. I planned on going out looking today but for various reasons that's not happening. Well I might pop into Maurice's as it's the only place very close by. If I don't find anything there I'll head out next Saturday and hit more places. Of course I also have a shoe issue. I have shoes similar to these and have worn them or similar styles for years with my boot cut jeans. I have some with higher heels that I occasionally wear and also with dress pants. In the summer I wear capris with sandals. Occasionally a dress. What kind of shoes would I wear with straight legged or less full boot cut? I've only worn the skinny jeans in the summer and have sandals or Sketcher walking shoes etc to wear with those. I need something comfortable for walking as I have a long walk from the parking ramp to my office. I hate being so clueless about this stuff and not having many friends IRL and the few I do not so much into fashion. Oops, these are like the shoes I have. www.clarksusa.com/c/Leisa-Clover/p/26144260

I'm not a shopper, and I have to drive 2 hours to get to any stores mentioned above. I don't need to dress up for work, and most of my work clothes get VERY dirty and greasy... so I shop cheap.
Walmart cheap. But I have been fairly happy with their recent offerings. A year or so ago, they started a new line called Terra & Sky for plus and Time & Tru for regular sizes, but that does have some larger sizes with it also. This stuff isn't bad. I have a couple pair of jeans that I really love!
The plus size line has been really nice. Tshirts are cut long enough and hold up decent. I have seen a few cute sweaters, solid lightweight cardigans, and flannel shirts to layer also.
The only thing I have trouble with, is that the cute stuff sells out really fast.
A couple of my kids have had to grab something quick at Walmart and both have said "I can't believe this came from Walmart"...

I have had really great luck with Lane Bryant jeans. I prefer the straight leg. I am wearing them today, in fact, and they are so comfortable. For dress pants I'd try Lane Bryant, also. I especially love the Madison and Allie straight leg pants. Again, very comfortable and don't stick to your legs. Check RetailMeNot for coupons. Right now there is a $25 off $50, $50 off $100, or $75 off $150 coupon. I second this! I love my Lane Bryant jeans with T3 (Tighter Tummy Technology) and they have lasted forever! Don't begrudge a skinny jean. Just plan to try on all the styles. I've never paid more than $25 for their jeans with coupons, etc.

I totally lucked into finding Lee jeans at Walmart that are bootcut. I know they have a reputation as "mom jeans", but these don't have that look. They were in the clearance section for $7.00, so I figured why not?
I'm more of a pear shape with a short torso and long legs. My weight is in my thighs and butt. I like that these suck my thighs in and the boot cut isn't super wide. I feel like it gives my legs a slimmer look.
I feel your pain. My issue is plus sized tops. Not everyone has ginormous boobs! I've given up on getting anything but crew cut. I've resorted to buying mens t-shirts (tighter in the chest) or tunic tops so my butt is actually covered (because I have a high waist).

I like Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. They have some give to them. Costco had them last year but not this year ( yet). I love these jeans. The black looks great and could be worn for work dressed up. You can get them at Costco online at link.

I keep them in my cart on Amazon now to track the price, it varies quite a bit. I bought the 2nd pair about a month ago when it was about $30 cheaper than normal. I think I got them the first time at Macy's. I wear them with flats or ankle boots most of the time, but sometimes sneakers.
