Since turning 60 almost a year ago, my skin has become really dry on my face. Any suggestions?? Also I am in search of a lightweight foundation for some "color" during this upcoming SUCKY winter.

My skin got dry in my 40s. I started exfoliating gently and using a face oil twice a day, followed by a moisturizer with SPF (day) and a heavy face cream (Cerave) at night.
For foundation, I like the It Cosmetics CC cream.

58 here. For moisturizing, the very best thing I've ever used is Cerave cream. I switch to the lotion in summer, but the cream is best the rest of the year.I have used a lot of expensive moisturizers over the years, but Cerave works so much better.
I stopped using foundation a couple of years ago and now use Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer instead. You can put foundation over it, but that's too much for me.
What I find critical at this age is good blush and lighter eyeshadow. The smokey eye and eyeliner just don't cut it. A lighter, more natural look is better overall now.

Check out Angie with Hot and Flashy on YouTube. She’s 57 and does fantastic foundation reviews and road tests.

I just switched to IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation and really like it. It’s a full coverage moisturizer, and really does both cover and moisturize. Looks very natural and doesn’t need any special applicator.

Dile Backstage and Body is nice foundation. It’s about the same price as It CC Cream. I am wearing Guerlain and love it, too.

I use Lancome Teint Idole. I've been using this for the past 3 years and really like it. I only start using foundation about this time of year and wear it until spring. I also use the primer and really like it. A little goes a long way and it leaves my skin feeling so silky.
I have really dry skin and use the IT bye bye redness cream and layer it with a variety of different samples I receive in beauty boxes and from orders from Ulta or Lancome. The IT cream isn't enough but it really gets rid of redness! It's kind of amazing!

I’m 59 and using tretanoin now. I like Elemis procolagen marine cream for night time. I liked cerave until the company changed hands and the product did as well- it irritates me now. During the day I use Caudalie Factor 50- incredibly moisturising but it’s also octocrylene free ( so doesn’t affect hormones )and safer for reefs and marine life.
Foundation - I like something light like nars tinted moisturiser or boots cyo foundation ( Angie on H&F reviewed that as well).
I can’t find a shade to suit me in it cosmetics cc and find it very heavy .

I’m no expert and putting this on is very forgiving.

Clinique is what I have used since I was 18 years old. Their moisturizer has been top rated for years, truly a gold standard.
They have many different foundation for different skin types.

I’ll probably go back to the CC cream in the late spring/summer.

Also, what is your budget? We are recommending Sephora brands when you might like Revlon or Physician’s Formula.

If you want hydrating, omg my skin looks amazing and how did I not know about this before then you want LA MER. It’s about $120 US and worth every penny. It’s not cakey, it lasts all day, it’s hydrating, not dry or ashy. It’s seriously worth the money.

I'm a Clinique girl. Use the moisturizer and the foundation. I have switched back and forth between Clinique, IT and Urban decay. But my go too, is Clinique. It just covers the best, without looking cakey, and lasts all day.

It's not a foundation but in a birthday give-away from Sephora two years ago I got a sample tube of Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 (a BB Cream) that was wonderful on my face. I kept meaning to go back and buy a full size tube but I haven't yet. Now they have expanded the line to 3 colors which is great-the color I got in the give away was too dark for me. I like BB creams because they go on quick and don't have that full face feel of a foundation. Reading the comments section on the site today I'm going to go in soon and try a tube. I think it's what I've been looking for.
Before this my go to foundation has been Urban Decay Nearly Naked Weightless Foundation.
I'm 59 and have a few small age spots I like to cover. I combat dryness with Dr. Haushka skin care products but the BB cream I mentioned above has skin care properties in it too.

I have at least a dozen different foundations, I've been on a search for the perfect one forever. So far, Dior Face & Body is the one I go back to most often. I really like it. When I want a very light coverage, more like a tinted moisturizer, I most often use UD Naked Skin One & Done. I think I'm one of the few that doesn't like the It Cosmetics CC Cream. I haven't tried the new one they came out with though. It sounds better. If you want more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, look into natural or radiant finishes. Go to Sephora and talk to one of the employees. They'll give you suggestions, and help match your shade. You can also get samples of a few different ones if you are undecided so you can try them out at home.

Bookmarking. I haven’t been wearing any foundation at all, because I always liked the IT Celebration powder foundation but now it looks too cakey on me. But trust me, my skin isn’t getting any better looking. Seems to me I got an IT BB or CC cream foundation from QVC at some point but never tried it. Off to look.

Whatever you use, use it as lightly as possible. All foundation (even the better ones) look better applied very lightly as we age. I like one with built in moisturizer and brighteners, and they come in all price points.

Clinique is what I have used since I was 18 years old. Their moisturizer has been top rated for years, truly a gold standard. They have many different foundation for different skin types. I used it from my teen years as well until they changed their formulation and their products started causing irritation and redness for me. Never again now. I've been using the IT CC cream for several years now and really like it. I apply it with a foundation brush. That allows me to go really light for every day and somewhat heavier for dressy occasions.

In the winter my skin gets dry. So I use a hyaluronic moisturizer from the drugstore, then sunscreen. Then foundation. I use anything from IT to Cover Girl to Lancôme. I have different ones because some are very light and sheer, while others have more coverage. TBH, I haven’t found that expensive is better for me. In the summer I don’t need the extra moisturizer and just use a sheer foundation.

I'm 44 and have combo/oily skin but have some texture that is accentuated by some foundations. I really like the Physician's Formula healthy foundation. It makes my pores and texture disappear and is not drying. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines foundation is also great (and the Soap and Glory from Target is comparable). Wander Beauty Nude Illusion is great as well. I also like some more long wearing foundations but that might not be what the OP needs (I have a hard time keeping my foundation looking decent throughout the day).
A friend recently gave me La Mer foundation (she said she ordered the wrong color). It looks good for a little while (although the color I have is not what I would buy for myself, either) but gets really shiny and wears away on me.
