I've got a lot of leftover chicken from dinner last night so I will turn that into chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight.
My plan is crochet and I think I'm going to stop over at my mom's new apartment and visit with her and help her put some stuff away. We are moving her big furniture Saturday but she's been taking boxes and boxes of stuff over for the past couple of weeks. She moved closer to me. She is just ten minutes away now.

We are having sausage and peppers with rotini with the leftover sausages from last night. It is a spectacular fall day here so I hope to go for a nice long walk this afternoon

I have had a fairly lazy Sunday so far. We went to church this morni, but that is it. Lunch here was slow cooked beef ribs with spätzle and green beans. There is heaps leftover, so that will be my dinner one day this week when DH is not home. I am planning to go out to my knitting group in a bit, but so far no one else has said they are coming, and there are issues with the UBahns on my line today, so I might stay home after all. I can always knit here.

sueg what project are you knitting right now? I have 2 projects on the go right now. One is a DK weight sweater for me, with a stranded yoke. I’ve finished the yoke and now am knitting round and round on the body - it is great TV knitting, but a bit big for taking along with me. The other is a fingering weight cardigan for Sophia, which has twisted rib cables up the fronts, so needs a bit more concentration.

I have a working sink!
I just baked pumpkin bread for my stepson who worked on my sink all week. Dinner will be the ziti with chicken and broccoli I’ve been threatening to make.

DH and I slept late ~ 7:35! We're getting ready to go for our walk ~ it's beautiful out ~ probably about 55 degrees or so. I'm thinking salmon for dinner ~ with sides of course!

YEAH ! for the working sink KelleeM One thing off of the stressful stuff in life right now. I had in 10 people for Oktoberfest last night. Eating up the leftovers, especially the apple strudel. Everyone contributed to the meal. I certainly have to finish off the last 3 bottles of wine! Gorgeous day outside. Will go for a hike on the Bruce Trail for sure!

I'm enjoying a peaceful, wonderful weekend in the mountains with a dear friend and her husband. He loves to cook (a real novelty to me) he is making a marinara sauce and homemade pasta. I'm being pampered and it's fun. We are talking, laughing and just relaxing. It will be back to normal life tomorrow.

Still going strong. My kids and gkids love when Oma makes spätzle.

I keep thinking there will be lots of German things I will start to make when we finally go back home, and I can’t get them in the supermarket anymore.

I like how it sounds and think it will be easy for her to learn. Some of my family were a bit surprised, but that’s their problem. DH decided on Farfar, which is the Swedish for the paternal grandfather - someone in their office up there said it when he was talking about the impending arrival, and he liked it, so that’s what he is.

I like it. I am almost full German descent. I don't want to be grandma for sure. I kind of wanted Gigi. Because my last name starts with g. Grandma G. But my mother insists that her great grandkids will call her Gigi short for great grandma. So I'm leaning toward oma.

Yeah for a working sink, KelleeM ! Yeah for a peaceful weekend getting pampered with friends, tuesdaysgone ! I am going to roast vegetables (carrots, asparagus, zucchini, onions) and toss them with quinoa and zhoug sauce. I made this last week and it was devoured quickly so I'm doubling the amounts to have some for lunches this week. This was the view from our backyard yesterday. When I heard the third set of fire trucks flying by, I went looking for smoke. Thankfully the quick response kept it to a vegetation fire.

I’m kicking around making this www.marthastewart.com/1522008/baked-pasta-cauliflower-and-swiss-chardSwiss chard and hot peppers are all that’s left in the garden. I also have everything else. Not sure what I will make with it. Grilled fish would be nice. But grill is out of gas. And whatever it is it needs to be easy. I’m finishing up the post construction cleaning. Even though there’s a few loose ends for the contractor to finish up. I also need to paint the outside window trim. When we had our house painted this spring dh decided I would paint the trim. Without checking with me It’s so nice I just want to go to the park and walk through the leaves.

Dh has the early softball games this afternoon, so we ordered pizza to have both before and after the games.
My mom belongs to knitting groups at 2 Senior Citizen's Center in our area (she is usally the youngest one there by quite a few years). She stopped iver yesterday and asked if we had any spare Halloween costumes that she could borrow, as one of the groups has a costume party. We did have 2 old costumes- Zombie Doctor and The Grim Reaper. 😂😂😂😂😂

KelleeM, yay on the new sink. It must be very nice to be able to wash dishes in the kitchen. leannec, your meme is great. The thing I've been fighting off got to me, so I'm just resting today. I'm gonna go nap in a bit. I think dh is gonna have dinner made by Digiorno. Last night he had soup from our yummy takeout Chinese restaurant. He ate while we watched Toy story 4. It was a very cute movie. If I'm lucky enough to become a grandma I want to be called grandma. Of course, I plan to rock the grandma thing. Not yet. There's college to finish and lives to start.

Hi ladies! This week wraps up the last week of regular season soccer. And we have 3 games. One away game tomorrow that's at least an hour and a half away. Then 2 home games Wednesday and Thursday. I'm busy making cookies for the team... peanut butter and snickerdoodle. Almost done.
I bought an el cheapo crockpot at Walmart yesterday since the one I got for Christmas boiled everything. The soccer team is having a potluck on Thursday after their last home game and I said I'd bring mac n cheese. So I kind of needed a crockpot that didn't overcook stuff. So to test it out, I'm making a beef roast with carrots in it today. So far, so good. It's been going since 9:30 and it looks to be truly slow cooking. I'll be making mashed potatoes too.

Leanne, I posted that on my Facebook too. My main meal today is a hot lobster roll and New England clam chowder from our local chowdah place but we’re also having réchauffe vegetable curry. My family and I have always LOVED accents!!! You reminded me of elementary school, when we were watching a movie about The Kennedys. The way the actors and actresses OVER-did the accents, ( "chow DAHHH" ) ..... made me LOL. I thought it was interesting that professional actors couldn't quite get the accent right, yet, my Dad can imitate the Kennedy's VERY realistically. KelleeM .....My best friend also chose "Mimi" and I think it's adorable !!!! Her DH goes by "Geeps". I'd never heard of "Geeps" before except in our family---the kids call my Dad either Geeps OR G'pa. My favorite is what my brother goes by---"Grampy." Of course it sounds even CUTER because of the way our great niece Lucy says it. My sis-in-law goes by "GrahamCracker" and "Gaga" ( both names have FUN stories attached that I can't remember). (sidenote---I'm sooo glad you finally have a sink!) brandy327 ....I'm happy to pay for your cookies to arrive to me via Fed-X, and I will also throw in a generous tip for your effort! teddyw ....Re: your post yesterday; I'm very sorry for what you and your family are going through with your Dad ((( hugs ))) leannec ....Love the meme! I've been attempting the "Marie Kondo" my house, and TRYING to purge the things that don't "spark joy".....but it's hard sometimessss !!! I mean, I recently discovered DH's typewriter from college.....it has such great memories for him, so we want to keep it, yet....we also kiiinda wanna get rid of it....ugh! ------------------------------------------------- DH is going to spoil us this evening by grilling chicken, burgers, and steaks that we'll enjoy for several nights. I absolutely LOVE the flavor that grilling adds! I'm going to sautee mushrooms so that we can have swiss cheese/ mushroom burgers (on ONION buns!) It's one of my absolute faves! I woke up today thinking of alllll the Halloween / Doggie things we used to do, and hoping mayyyyybe next weekend, either DH or one of my friends will take us to something. DH is very busy this weekend with house stuff, or else he would have taken us. This is from a FUN event with our rescue 3 (or 4?) years ago.... THIS adora-bulllllll Daphne was our foster baby that lived with us for 10 months. She is in a wonder-bull home and her new Mommy is nice about letting me "stalk" her on Facebook, which DH and I still do regularly! We loved her and will always miss her---that's the ONLY downfall with fostering. This is 7 or 8 years ago.....one of my all-time FAVE piks of Sophieeeee.....the way the camera captured the fog makes it sooo Halloween-ee!

I got my grandmother name from my granddaughter... she couldn't say grandma so ended up calling me mommaw; now that's what all the grands (and greats) call me. DH became poppaw. Love it.
KelleeM - when I was little, I couldn't say mommy and said mimi instead; that became my nickname. I have a few nieces (and my brother, occasionally) who still call me that. We're having more homemade chicken noodle soup and salad tonight.

Hope everyone is have a good weekend. And to the tribe members that need a hug {{{huuuuug}}} I went to Oktoberfest last night. It was a blast. Our is one of the largest in the US and I love it. It’s me favorite festival to attend every year. Chicken dancing, Bigfoot, das glockenspiel, the FOOD and of course BEER! tonight it’s back to cooking. Making a Ny strip on the grill with a butternut squash risotto and some roasted broccoli.
