One of my friends invited me to fb group “the kindness challenge.” There are all kinds of posts about people who did something kind, witnessed It, or had someone do something kind for them. It could be anything from something small to something big. Look into it if you’d like to see your fb feed with happy stuff.
Here’s one I just read, and thought I’d share here in case any of you might like to get involved as a giver or recipient:
“I signed up for this app called Be My Eyes a while ago. The app helps to connect visually impaired people with people who can see and I received my first call today!!! 👁 ❤️
The call comes through as an alert on your phone through the app and the phone call is answered like a FaceTime call. On the other end was a young man getting ready to go to a haunted house with his friends and he needed my help picking out a "spooky" T-shirt to wear. He held up each of his black T-shirts and I described each one to him and was able to help him make a choice. 🎃 👻
At the end of the call he thanked me for helping him and I told him I was so excited because he was my first phone call! He told me I did a great job and I told him to have a fun evening. I will remember that call forever.”

I was trying to remember, within the last couple months there was a pea who had a friend in the hospital, partially paralyzed maybe? and he wanted something to do to feel useful. Maybe this would be an option for him to help people out in the world?

@bergdorfblonde might this be helpful to you? That is the sweetest thing, and of course you know it's close to my heart too!!
When I'm doing okay, I'm busy with moderating a messageboard for monocular people. It's sometimes emotionally tough for me, but helping people navigate what lies ahead, or hooking them up with certain doctors or things they need (or answering technical or medical questions) is so very rewarding...
After my surgeries, I really, really need another "me". I need help paying my bills and doing all of the paperwork and calls I normally have to keep up with, regarding our medical "fights". DH can't do it. DD can't do it. I have my files and notes everywhere, and whomever makes the calls has to be up to date on each file status.
I had to renew our Foodstamps (TMI, I know...) but it's akin to doing your taxes. I tried calling for help because I can't read for hours to get it done....... They said, "We'll give you one week to get it done." WOW!! I called 2-1-1 here and they couldn't help either. Lovely...... I buckled down on Friday and got it all finished, but had a migraine when I was done. It's really a shame that there's no help for the vision impaired or even the disabled to do these types of things. Such is life!
What you're doing is amazing! GREAT work! I"m so proud of you! xo
(P.S.: I always say that when I'm doing okay, I'm up and around, on the phone and online, getting things done. When I'm not okay, I'm off the grid and just cannot get anything done. Everything has to wait. I appreciate the thought though!! )

@bergdorfblonde not I - I just shared someone else’s post. I know you’ve been struggling to keep all the balls in the air and are doing such a good job! Wish there was a service to help you.

I normally could keep all of the balls in the air, but when I'm down, we're all down! I keep waiting to get us both back up so I could go back to Nannying a bit and make things easier. In the meantime, Gary's busy with his crafting and selling a ton of Halloween items right now! Creepy, but it makes him very happy! He's so creative.
Thank you for being a dear friend. I wish I could find some service to help out, but there seems to be nothing here to help. xo

Yes it was me with the paralysed friend. He's in rehab now, and has most of his time filled. I'm very pleased for him, but he's 2.5 hours away so we can't get to see him very often. Yes, that was one of the things mentioned on my thread, but he wasn't fit for that at the time - I'm not sure he is now to be honest.
I think it's a fabulous service.
