Hello all, I hope everyone had a great October and Halloween.
Simon Says has a give away on Monday the first 50 people to email marketing would get their Halloween kit. I did it within 5 mins of the post so never no I might get one. Didn't say they wouldn't send outside the USA either. So we shall see..I don't have Halloween stuff so it would be a nice addition. I will keep you posted.
Art Journal class on Sunday. We are doing altered Altoid tins. I'm looking forward to this.
I have some vacation days coming up so I will be creative. I need the time away from work. But I don't just want to lay around I want to be creative. DH will be at work, so the time is mine. I'm not telling anyone I'm off either...so shhh..
Well everyone have a great month..

I have no Halloween photos this year, sigh. My grandson decided not to go ToT this year. They are growing up too fast!

I got two photos of Halloween this year. One of my daughter and two friends looking at the camera and the other of them walking away. This might be her last year trick or treating too. I’m thinking about scrapping those on my YouTube live tonight. Might be fun to use the two photos side by side.

we don't really 'do' halloween (no kids) and we live in a really small neighborhood so I don't have any ToT photos. (or any leftover candy, either, lol)
I had planned to go to a 12-hr crop a couple weeks ago but didn't end up going, so I want to get a headstart on making page kits and getting photos printed / planned out for the next one on Nov. 16th. I have a very LARGE procrastination streak, so believe me, I need all this time to do it, lol! I have quite a few pre-made 'base pages' for layouts a la Janet / RTS scrapbooking, so I hope to use those for my layouts; I'll just need to build on them with embellishments etc. that match my photos (once I get them printed, that is).

I plan on ordering October photos today. I have several Halloween -ish events to scrap, including two trunk or treats, a fall fest, a school autumn parade, and Halloween night.
Yesterday at work I randomly remembered about cream and gold pattern paper pad i have that will be a good base layer for some autumn layouts.
I'm currently on a heavy refrigeration/ maybe freeze about buying supplies. I haven't bought much this year anyway, mostly themed stickers, and a few sheets of pp that i already used. But I just don't want my stash to get bigger. I want to continue to use what i already have.

scrappington , good luck! Hope you win. The days off without anyone knowing to just be crafty sounds divine.
My DS17 dressed as Shaggy from Scooby Doo this year. Only because he was looking very scruffy and shaggy earlier in October, and DH gave him the idea. He shaved first thing Friday morning. The whiskers were bothering him. Now to get his hair cut, because the scruffy look is bothering Mom. I don't mind long hair, just FIX IT!! Alas, 17.
I'm very close to having the scrap room at the new house pieced together. It's not the permanent put together but the rag tag put together so we can use it. Hopefully I will finish it off this month, but we will be gone 1.5 weeks to the old homestead and we're hosting Thanksgiving. Plus MIL is having surgery and my brother is coming to stay with us (divorcing and he's miserable). I can still hope to finish though. I just might not get there.

Today is Day Out With Thomas (and Percy). Ds is 13 and LOVES all things Thomas and trains. So we go 2x a year. But...the are no longer holding the spring event, so now it will just be in November.
Going to get lots of fun photos and hope to scrap them and the kids Halloween pages this weekend.
Tomorrow is Adam's Family at the theater. Looking forward to seeing that.
Has anyone ever scrapped photos of their movie going experiences? Trying to figure out how to take photos...

I like to take pictures with the movie poster of what we’re seeing. Our theater sometimes has a photo spot for what’s playing too. I’ll add in the movie tickets for those pages.

Good luck on the giveaway.
I live in a great Trick-or-Treating neighborhood but I had to make a command decision to batten down the hatches, turn the lights off and pull the front curtains shut this year because my husband decided to schedule his colonoscopy for November 1st and he had to start the prep for it at 5 p.m. on October 31st. We have a big barking dog who loves children and I just knew I would not be able to manage all of that by myself and still keep the atmosphere calm for him while he did his ... thing. So I have no Halloween photos this year, but that's OK. Well, actually maybe I will have one because my daughter brought her dad a sweet little care package last night that consisted of a Halloween pumpkin bucket and a bunch of Halloween candy. I could do something with that for sure.
I was selected to be on the design team for my local scrapbook store last month, so I have one project left to do for my November DT commitment. I am thinking about getting that done today. We shall see.
I also signed up for a Christmas Card exchange with a group of scrappy friends. Handmade cards are not required but most of us do make them by hand. I think there are about 100 or 125 participants this year, so I should get going on that. We don't have to mail out that many, but I like to make as many as I can. I have more than enough supplies to send out 125 handmade cards, but I tend to procrastinate, so getting started early would be smart. Will I do it? Probably not. I'm just saying it would be smart.

We went once when my kids where little and I have yet to scrap these precious photos.

I take a photo of the movie poster or us by the poster.

I stopped in a Joann’s today to check out the new AC collections there.
12x12 regular paper (not specialty paper) was on sale 12 for $2, plus I had a 25% your entire purchase including sale items coupon. I picked up paper from Willow, CP Heritage, the new Jen Hadfield collection, and the Dear Lizzy She’s Magic collections. I think I may have a paper addiction! I also picked up the project pads for She’s Magic, Willow, and Heritage. I’ll wait for embellishments to go on sale before I pick up the matching embellishments for these collections.
I’m disappointed Joann’s didn’t pick up Field Trip. Those four collections are quite feminine; Field Trip would have been a nice contrast to the four girly collections they chose.

We never saw the train, but have lots of track and trains. For scrapping movies, you could screenshot the movie poster online before you go to have the graphic. At the theater, you could snap a photo of eating theatre snacks, standing by the poster, or near the velvet rope, or outside of the theater entrance (so you can see theater number and movie playing). After the movie, you could snap a pic of your kid's expression while you ask them if they liked the movie. Maybe ask if it was a thumbs up movie? 😀 Add ticket stubs if you have them.

I made my kit for November. I tried to put in less papers. I had 30 in October and made 32 pages. I still probably have 10 whole papers left and lots of scraps. I’m moving on to this new kit.

Have some fun Halloween photos to scrap. Need to print them (plus other pics from this weekend). Will use supplies from my Halloween bin. No new Halloween purchases this year.
Plan to make all my Christmas cards this month. Picked up some new Kaisercraft Christmas papers (and have a couple of Christmas card kits). Have our nephew’s wife coming over on the 16th for a card making party.
Hoping to get some scrapping done too, but not sure how much time I will have.

I have a 4 day retreat and 2 crops this month. I have an opportunity to make a huge dent in a few projects IF I can organize myself at all. Ideally I could catch up on DGD to November and finish up my life in Arizona that I made a huge dent in last year.
So that will be my November goal. Pulling product will be the key.

Gorgeous. I actually pulled the thread up because I saw the pic in Tapatalk and was like “ooh, that’s a pretty kit, I need to find out where they got it.” Lol. I’m obviously used to being enabled here.

I’m trying to mix half FJ with half other stuff to encourage me to use it. Glad you liked it.

My dh and ds have been hanging out this weekend so I’ve gotten a lot of crafty time in. I’m working with my October Cocoa Daisy TN kit to scrap the October break vacation we took a few weeks ago. I am so excited because I got ELEVEN pages done this weekend. Granted, one is a title page and one page needs journaling, but still. Eleven! That’s more than I’ve made in the last few months combined.

I’m obviously used to being enabled here. haha!! I like reading about the things people find, but I usually don't find them myself... or I just have crappier stores around me. I went to J's a few days ago and it is the saddest-feeling store I've been in in quite a while-- the clearance aisle looked like a DISASTER!! And I didn't see any good sales on paper, at all. (not that I NEED any, lol.) We've actually done quite a number of fun things in the last few weeks-- a couple day trips and today we went to a book signing. So I really should get a photo order ready to go. I get hung up on editing photos, zooming in and cropping for close-ups, etc. and I really shouldn't do that-- that's the part of the process that takes so long I lose enthusiasm. (Does anyone else do that? If you've been scrapping a while, do you remember back in the 'film' days, we couldn't do any of that editing- you got your envelope of photos in the mail, and you used what you had. I need to try to get back to that, even with my digital photos!)

I print at Walmart, so I select which pics I want on my phone whenever I think of it, save to the app, then stand at the kiosk and edit just before printing. Then I go away for awhile—shop, grab lunch, whatever—and come back and pick up my order. I try to do this often enough that I am not overwhelmed with the process. Need to do that tomorrow on the way home from my weekend with dgk’s.
