I've been out of state visiting my mum so no scrapping for me - I got back last night and spent today cleaning and doing laundry (and I'm not done yet). BUT I did manage to scan several albums of my childhood photos AND my parent's wedding photos (I didn't know they HAD wedding photos) AND a small folder of photos of my older (half) sister when she was small including her christening photo (which included my dad - I had only 2 pictures of my dad before he married mum in 1969 - one in his army kilt from 1944 and a snapshot from his 40th birthday in 1965 - my sister was born in 1950 so it was neat to see dad looking so young). I also found photos of my parents when they were first married - my dad still had hair, lol (and it might still have been brown - but all the older pics are black and white - by the time they switch to colour he was grey and balding which is how I remember him) that sounds great what a find I scrap a lot off my photos parents & everyone it is great fun

I managed to take a quick break and go to Tuesday Morning. We have one store that has all of their craft stuff out by noon on Monday and if you don't get there on Monday, chances are it is gone. I found the cutest Stampendous stamps today. I'm not really a stamper, but these stamps were so dang cute.

I also got 16 pages of SG kits completed this weekend. I only have two more months of receiving their boy kits.

I might have just spent a bunch on AX. I’ll have to throw all those little packages in a box and wrap it up to tuck under the Christmas tree. Oh wow Santa was here!

Oh wow Santa was here! maybe this is how I can justify buying myself some of the Park Lane paper pads, lol!! (of course, the question then would be: can I keep from wanting to use them until Christmas?!? not sure!)

I have actually done a lot of photo editing for my Saturday crop... I have well over 100 prints ready to send, but still need to finish up pics for a couple different layouts.
But last night I got the bright idea to add another event to the pile... we went to Sedona last fall for a long weekend, and there are over 400 pics from that weekend to go thru! I had thought I could just export them all en masse-- to send them to get printed without having to do any editing-- but when I tried doing that, it looks like some of them are an odd size. So I need to go thru them to crop them to 4x6 so they don't print goofy... darn it!
I also format a fair amount of my photos to be printed at (2) 3x4 pics on one 4x6 print (I still use Picasa) so the # of actual PHOTOS that I'm getting printed is a lot higher than the # of prints. So after I get them printed, I'll have to cut them apart.

Good luck with your editing, crimsoncat05 . I always panic I won't have enough to work on at a crop and then don't finish anywhere near what I planned to. But the good news is, I can then come home with photos sorted and supplies selected (more or less), plus usually a jolt of creative energy, so I usually get more done after a crop that at it! I HAD to check out the Simon Says December Card Kit in THIS thread And then I HAD to order it. Didn't even read all the rules about how to STOP getting kits after I subscribe, but I just had to have that cute gnome, the Christmas trees, those plaids... Oi! Might have to go the pas2 route, and wrap this stuff up for myself and put it under the tree. Do you think anyone would notice that some of the things look a little USED when I unwrap them?

400 ! omg have fun! thanks, guys!! Yeah, I take a lot of photos... I whittled it down to about 150 for that weekend altogether, I think. Some of them are 3x4s, and a lot of the other ones I'm getting printed because I was rushing, and I don't know if I'll want them in portrait or landscape orientation. I know I'll probably make at least 4-6 two page layouts for this trip and some of those layouts will probably include pocket pages. I'm feeling pretty accomplished this morning-- dead tired, but accomplished. I was up choosing / editing photos till about 11:30 pm and sent the photo order (~260 pics) to Walgreens before work this morning. (right now they have a 10 cent per pic sale on orders over 100 pics...) Now, I just need to: 1) find all the notes I was making about the layouts I want to make- where did I put those notes, anyway? ( no idea!!) 2) choose a selection of papers, card stock, sketches, and page kits, and 3) make sure I pack everything I need-- it'll probably STILL be way too much stuff, and stuff I NEED will be forgotten. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've never done a digital photo book; that would be a good idea for a Christmas present for my parents, but there's not nearly enough time for me to attempt something like that for this Christmas. And grammadee, I also panic when I think I won't have enough stuff to work on- that's why I didn't go to the crop last month; I was totally unprepared. I'm LOLing at your wrapping up a 'used' gift for yourself!! No, I don't think anyone would notice, at all!!

Well at least your limiting those 150 photos to just a few pages, I would have deemed a weekend in Sedona Mini book worthy! But, I do have a love for mini albums 😁 And I am right with you on over preparing for a crop, I dont wanna be stuck with nothing to work on that sparks my creativity so I have to have more then a few options. And then at the last moment I go into panic mode and start throwing everything in!!!😂 Have fun!!

And then at the last moment I go into panic mode and start throwing everything in!!!😂 ^^^ me, too! then when I sit down at the crop, I can't find anything!! lol! I don't do mini-books, or else that weekend probably would be a mini album. But heck- I took over 300 photos at one afternoon art gallery exhibit we attended, so... I'd have a whole bookshelf full of mini albums, if that was how I did it, lol. thanks! I hope it will be fun. I know it's *supposed* to be fun, but sometimes I put way too much stress on myself when it comes to my crafting.

I understand the stress, I feel like I need to get so much done cause of this big block of time set apart just for scrapbooking, and if I come home with only a few pages done it was a waste of precious scrapbooking time!! 🙄 I've tried to get over after so many years, but it's just who I am!

November is a super busy month for me between my 10-day trip earlier to visit my mum, a camping trip coming up, and DD19 coming home for Thanksgiving plus of course the preparation needed for Thanksgiving and the start of Christmas prep.
So of course, I took on two big November projects...I'm trying to do NaNoWriMo - okay, it's not a novel, it's the writeup of one line of genealogy from an ancester who was born in the 1650s forward generation by generation. I'm just over 10k words in (month goal is 50k) - not bad for only writing for 3 days so far. The other project is to make felt ornaments for a Jesse tree - I did the Lent version back in the Spring and my family really liked the ornaments and the nightly snippets from the Gospels - the Advent version focuses on the Old Testament.
I have managed to sneak in a little scrapbooking time - I made 8 Thanksgiving cards yesterday. Today I sorted my last photo order - put the prints into albums in page protectors by layouts. Realised that I was missing two weeks of photos from September so placed an order for those - that makes three orders placed this week, the other two were more recent pics (November) and then the November 2018 photos I realised I never printed. Thank goodness for free shipping from Amazon photos.
I've made two 8x8 layouts to catch up DD13's Girl Scout album - at least until the next photo order comes in.
Now to work on catching up DD19's college album - I've only managed one layout so far this semester and she'll want to look at it when she comes home for Thanksgiving.

Yesterday after work i cleared off my desk and pulled out my autumn papers, embellishments, and photos to prep for today, my self declared day of scrapping.
I actually made a Halloween layout already, after setting up.
I will start scrapping again this morning after getting the kids to school.

I have a hard time with Christmas - the products sing to me and I want them all - and I don't use them as much as a I should. I love this kit too, but I'm resisting. I just bought 2 sets of "your next stamp" stamps and dies at my LSS, Christmas wreaths and Christmas lights. It was SSS that hooked me on them, but the lights dies were sold out. then I discovered I could buy the same sets at my LSS for the same price in Cdn dollars!

I started & finished six 8.5x11" autumn layouts, and began three others.
I used lots of enamel alphas, lots of paper (love to make a dent), lots of puffy pumpkin stickers, and the sheet of Halloween cut aparts.
I'm hoping to scrap more later this week.

Yesterday I finished my four-week teaching prac placement. And now I'm on 'holidays' (if such a thing exists with 2 very young kids and a husband who works away). But before I can even begin to think about making anything, I need to clean up... I don't even know where to begin : :

It is a pretty small room, but I know that I am lucky to have it. I'm still working on the best way to organise everything. For a big chunk of the year I also need space for studying which limits what I can do a bit.

Had yesterday off and convinced my mom to run up to Pine City Scrapbook company for a few hrs. We didn't do much, but I was able to pick up some of the Little Lumberjack collection, so that was fun. She got some cool positive breast cancer paper, so that was great. She's not so much a pink ribbon fan, but she likes the ones that say things like "Chemo fuels my superpowers" and things like that lol. At least stupid cancer did not take her sense of humor.
