Beto has dropped out of the race. LINK
How many does that leave? Twenty-something still?

I wanted him for the Senate too but he’s not expected to run.

Yeah I’m glad he is gone as well. I loved him in Texas for Senate but didn’t think he’d go very far for President. I wonder who is next to drop?

And that's why I'm not following the debates.

And that's why I'm not following the debates. Yeah, that's kind of where I am. I do pay some attention, but I'll drive myself mad if I try to stay on top of every detail at this point. My brain doesn't retain political information very well, lol. I'm another who likes Beto but I think this was too big for him at this point.

I honestly don’t know what Beto’s next step should be. I feel like he’s hurt rather than helped his image with his presidential run. I’m really not sure he could beat Cornyn.
I’d rather see Julian Castro come back and run for Cornyn’s seat TBH.

I’m with you, I’d rather Julian Castro come back to Texas and take Cornyns seat.

I’d rather see Julian Castro come back and run for Cornyn’s seat TBH. I think he hurt his image as well, but Cornyn’s numbers aren’t as strong as Cruz’s were. I think I read about 35%. I’d also be happy with Castro. My big hope for Beto, aside from Senate, is that he helps the Dem candidate for Texas Senate with running their grassroots campaign. He and his team could teach a Master Class. I’m not sure how that would translate on a national level, it’s beyond my pay grade. Or he could become a strong leader for immigration or gun reform. He’s so passionate about those causes and he has a great ability to connect with people on a personal level, I really think he could do a lot of good.

Good. He needs to immediately file for the Senate race. He should have dropped out months ago.

Harris is now closing offices - will she be the next to drop out? I think its possible she will end her bid for Presidency and go on someone else's ticket as VP.

I do wish a few more would drop out, too. I think the bottom 15 all think that if the other 14 dropped, they would boomerang in the polls, taking everyone who isn't now for Biden/Sanders/Warren/Buttigieg with them. The four at the top are generally taking 60-70% of the total, leaving 30-40% for whoever hangs onto be the last person standing for the 5th spot, and putting them suddenly at the top of the polls.

DS21 is/was a Beto supporter. He wants to do some more research, but he's feeling like Mayor Pete is were he is heading. DD17 (18 before Nov '20) and her DBF19 are part of the Yang Gang, but both feel they will end up with Pete if/when Yang drops out. How in the hell is Beto gone, and Williamson is still in with nothing but suggesting planting gardens of love?

Kamala won't drop out before Iowa & New Hampshire; I've been talking to someone who's part of her campaign team. They're just redeploying resources.
Some of these folks who are still 'in' are really just 'there.' They aren't campaigning in any kind of meaningful way. Williamson, Yang, Gabbard, those kinds of folks have zero chance.
The only ones who I think have a shot at it are the current top 4 + Harris. And truthfully, numbers be damned, I still say Harris has a better shot at the nomination than Buttigieg.
