Your tree is lovely.
I think it is very different in the UK. I'm not sure I know anyone who puts it up in November. I won't be looking to put our tree up until ten or twelve days before Christmas and down on the 6th Jan.

We don’t put our tree up until mid-December. Advent is a time of preparation and I take all month to prepare! We wait until the weekend after the epiphany to take it down, so I don’t want it up for months. We will have a real tree this year—we didn’t bring our artificial tree with us to Belgium since we didn’t know if we would have the storage room. I haven’t seen any Christmas decorations up around here. No one is decorating just yet. Your tree is absolutely beautiful. You did a great job!

Lovely tree. I put my tree up early December because I’m at home all day, but all my family and friends wait until about 2 weeks before Christmas. They think I’m mad for doing mine so early! I usually take it down on New Year’s Day.

People in the U.K. don’t often put their trees up until early December. I wish I could like this 100 times!! OP, your tree is gorgeous but I think I’d be a gibbering wreck if ours went up this early! It’s only because of the grandkids that it goes up at the start of December, another two weeks later would do me. However, I do love that American houses are decorated for Thanksgiving and that you have indoor and outdoor trees when you can. If I lived there I’d be doing the same. A friend of mine puts hers up at the start of December and takes it down on Boxing Day. I can’t be doing with that either! Christmas isn’t over on Boxing Day! Ours comes down by 6th Jan.

Soon! This is the first year that I plan to put it up with no qualms about Thanksgiving. I’m told only in America do people feel obligated to wait (because of our American holiday of Thanksgiving). My Sister in law came here from the Philippines two years ago to marry my brother. She says they decorate in early Sept and keep thru mid- Jan. In the Philippines. They also have steady Christmas parties and events during that time frame. My brother, I think in an effort to show her we don’t do it that early here, posted a few weeks ago asking opinions on if it was too early to decorate. Knowing where his question was coming from I answered that typically I’d say yes but knowing his wife’s culture starts even earlier they should put the tree up already for her. Other people responded in like. She got her tree. I think he expected more Americanized answers but as far as I am concerned she sacrificed a lot to come here and be with him so let her have as long of a Christmas season as she wants! Thankfully, he got it.

twistedscissors Your tree is gorgeous! I won't put ours up until the first week in December. I host Thanksgiving, so I don't want to have it up before.

You have a beautiful tree.
I wish i could use an artificial tree, but the rest of the family loves real tree, so we have to wait until December.
Being the one who puts (most) of it up, and then has to take it all down, I wish i could have a small table top artificial tree. I love the beauty of it all, but don't really love the work.

Too soon for me. I prefer fall, and don’t want to rush winter at all. I also get tired of losing living room space while it’s up, so it gets a month. It will probably be thanksgiving weekend, and come down a few days after Christmas.
And we have a kitten this year, so I don’t know how he will be. Our other cat does fine after the first day, so crossing my fingers!

I'd love a real tree, but I'm allergic to them. I will probably put mine up a few days before Thanksgiving. I'm having house guests for Thanksgiving, and they plan to help me.

My dad's family didn't put up their tree until the kids went to bed on Christmas Eve, so I grew up thinking that anything before that was early.
My in-laws always decorate on Black Friday, so DH and I have had to compromise as to what timing is acceptable.
We've settled on the first or second weekend in December, weather depending, as we always cut a fresh tree at the farm.

We don’t normally put ours up before early December (UK) but ds is coming home briefly 20-24 November (he’s studying abroad & bringing an American student over here for a visit) & then won’t be back until 23/24 December for Christmas; as we always decorate it together we’re putting it up early because he’ll be here.

It's very pretty but it's the 3rd of November, way too early for Christmas decorations to be up.

Such a pretty tree!
I don't like putting mine up until December. And I prefer to take it down by New Years, but lately have had to leave it up longer because our family Christmas hasn't happened until after the actual holiday due to active duty military sons and respecting in-laws' holidays as well.

Very pretty! I have a small one up year round. It still has Halloween decorations. I haven't decided if I want to put our bigger tree up for Christmas.

That is a beautiful tree! I am watching Hallmark movies and thinking I could put mine up anytime. The crazy thing is that when I was growing up, my parents were 'allowed' to decorate until after my brother's birthday...which is Dec. 15! How did we wait that long? Yes we had that too. Not until after Dad's birthday, Dec 11th. And then you had to wait until the next weekend if his birthday was on Tuesday, soo late. I usually put it up mid November. I keep thinking it's too early but then get it up and am so happy and when I take it down, wish I had put it up earlier. I figure if you're going to go to all the work and have all this money invested you might as well enjoy it. I'm done well before New Years. I got a smaller skinnier tree last year and am so happy with it. It doesn't take rearranging the whole room, it doesn't take up the whole room. It's so much more enjoyable.

Ours will go up Dec 13 (if that is the Saturday). We usually shoot for about 2 weeks before Christmas, but it all depends on ds' school schedule.

We do a real tree and it won’t go up until mid December. Two to three weeks is enough for me!

The first weekend in December is generally the earliest it goes up. After the 3rd actually. Stays up to the 6th January. Mine is back down before New Years. We have 4 trees and about 20 additional totes of stuff. This year I'm going to decorate the main tree and that room. We are going on a cruise the 12-23 and it just seems like a lot of work to enjoy for at most two weeks.

Soon! This is the first year that I plan to put it up with no qualms about Thanksgiving. I’m told only in America do people feel obligated to wait (because of our American holiday of Thanksgiving). Ha, when we moved to the US, I felt pressured/obligated to get the tree up Thanksgiving weekend. We resisted, mostly because we didn't want to do Christmas until after DS's December birthday. In Canada, we rarely had ours up more than 2 weeks before Christmas and it stayed up through at least the 1st week of January.

Your tree is lovely. And I'm glad you enjoy having it up now!
I am so over Christmas being pushed earlier and earlier every year. I don't do malls, but was at the pharmacy the other day and it's all about Christmas already <eyeroll.> I'm not Christian but for those who are, are you tired of 2+ months of Christmas by the time the holiday actually rolls around?

I just took down the Halloween decorations and put up some fall decor. We get a really tree so I won’t put that up for awhile.

I decorate some for fall, which includes Halloween and Thanksgiving (I don’t do jack-o-lanterns; I do pumpkins).
I also like Thanksgiving as a holiday and want it to stand on its own, not get lost in the Christmas rush. So no Christmas goes up until the day after Thanksgiving.

are you tired of 2+ months of Christmas by the time the holiday actually rolls around? Not a bit! I love all the aspects of Christmas and the longer they are around, the better as far as I am concerned. Winter can be so cold, dark and dreary and I'll take all the cheer I can get!

Beautiful!!! I couldn't stand mine to be up yet though. DD is moving out and I can't seem to keep one room 1/2 cleaned up.. I am just about over it. I think she is out next weekend unless they decide to paint. But she is eager to get out.. lol... I am usually putting up our tree Thanksgiving weekend.. Sat/Sun. Probably the same this year. I will be moving lots of stuff between now and then (with her moving).. so I will have a clean slate to start with.

Ours usually goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving, or the weekend after that.
This year, no tree. We are getting a little one for DS for in his room though. We are leaving for two weeks in Dec for Disney, so we aren't bothering with a tree. We won't be home enough to enjoy any of it, and make the work of it all worth it. I will still decorate and put up the stockings though.
