I tried ordering for curbside pickup. After a couple days they cancelled my order. I went on their online site and ordered the same fabric from them and received it in two days. Go figure..

I guess I just feel scattered. I start something but don’t seem to have the attention span right now to
See anything through. Today I made 2 masks but that’s all I did. I miss my old schedule.( I used to babysit my 2 year old
Grandson but now of course his mom and dad are working from home so I get to face time him but it’s just not the same.

I know many have probably made this style mask that called for using the synthetic clothesline for the ties. Have anyone used it ? I should’ve put the call out to everyone that’s been making masks for any input! Thanks for any info.

I posted on the mask making thread but think my post got lost in there. Could you tell me if you made any of the masks you posted using the synthetic clothesline? I have a bunch of that but was wondering if it stays tied well. Since you’ve made so many of that particular pattern can you tell what you prefer for the ties? Thanks for any input! You look so stylish in your mask 😷.

A question for Patter or anyone that has made the type of mask that Patter posted. On the original Pattern from the woman on YouTube, she used synthetic cotton clothesline. I have that in several different widths, but was wondering if it is as good as other ideas, like ribbon or twill for the ties? Any suggestions as to what works best?

I just ordered a bingo game for me and sent one to my grandkids. I thought we might have fun playing it together when we skype. The 7 yr. old will love calling out the numbers. I also bought them each a joke book, one is a knock knock one. They’ll love telling jokes when we skype and having us try and guess the answers to the knock knock ones. We are just trying to make the best of all this. We only live a few miles from the grandkids but not chancing getting together in person right now and I miss them!

I really enjoy my sous vid. I have the Sensaire brand which I’ve had for several years with no issues.we like cooking steaks in it. I use quart size freezer bags- 1 bag for each steak. When I first got one it was recommended to only use the zip loc brand of freezer bags because others that used generic had trouble with them leaking. I use large clips and have used a clothespin in a pinch to clip the bags on the sides of the Rubbermaid container. It only takes an hour in the sous vid for the steak to be cooked internally to the right temp, then we sear them on a really hot grill( I season them befor putting in bags). They are perfect every time. If I’m cooking a pork roast or something big then I use the lid on my container to keep water from evaporating. I’ve made cheesecakes in small jelly jars n they were good as well!

While I don’t post often, I couldn’t let this post go by without sending my prayers for Donna and her family. She was a shining light here and will be so very missed. Such a loss for everyone on this board😢.

I needed a new tree last year and couldn’t bring myself to commit to a flocked tree which is what I was drawn to. I ended up buying a traditional green tree but then bought flocked evergreen picks at 50% off at Michaels and stuck them all over in the tree and ta-da! I have a faux flocked tree! I figure if I get tired of the flocked look then no big deal, I just won’t use the evergreen picks. I bought 30 or 40 of them to get the look as my tree is 9 feet tall.

I was also having trouble with severe leg, toe foot, finger etc. cramps. I had blood work done and it showed I was severely low on vitamin D. Since I've been taking it, I take the chocolate chew type of D3, 1000 IU and I take 2 every day, the cramps have finally stopped! For me, it seemed to be the answer. I had tried the soap in my bed but never got any relief. I also tried eating more bananas and upping my water intake but I didn't have any change until after I got the blood work n then started the vitamin D.

I have a very fussy dog who can smell a pill a mile away! I've tried everything-peanut butter, cheese, and making pocket in a piece of steak etc. The only thing that finally worked for us was putting the pill inside a small ball of cream cheese. I just formed a small amount of cream cheese around the pill. She couldn't smell the medicine so she swallowed the cream cheese. That was a life saver.

I have it and really have only touched the surface with using it so far but I do really like it. I've made steak many times in it n it's perfect every time. I like that I can put it in and leave it for an hour or more n when everyone gets here then throw them on the grill just to sear the outside of the steaks and every steak is perfectly cooked the same! No One ends up with over cooked steak. I never thought about using it to thaw or reheat food but I'm definitely filing that info for later use. I want to try pork in it next and also cheesecake. My married kids loved it so much that they bought one on prime day. I have the sansaire I bought during a kickstarter. They got the anova on prime day. Both units are good.

Cawoman, can you tell me how many millograms you take? I looked on Amazon at the brand you mentioned as it comes in powder and tablet form and was wondering if one form was any different or better than the other.

I have those clear drawers that I use in my linen closet. I bought them at the container store! They can stand alone or be stacked.

I had cataracts in both eyes so had surgery done last June on both eyes. I chose the multifocal lens which required it be done by laser surgery. Neither the multi focal lens or laser was covered by my insurance as they were considered upgrades from the regular lens and traditional surgery that my insurance covered. The use of the laser made my recovery easier/less traumatic on my eyes. With the new lenses I no longer need reading glasses. I can see up close and distance vey well. The big downside for me is that the multifocal lens has rings around them which is what provides the ability to see both near and far but for me, the rings cause me to see halos around lights at nite. It has gotten better since the initial surgery but I still see some halos at nite which is bothersome for nite driving. Out of pocket expenses were high for this option but I'd probably make the same choice today. Not everyone has the halo effect from the multifocal lens.

My levels came back at 7 so my doctor had me take 1,000 IU of vitamin D once a day. I went back 6 months later and my level had come up to 25. He changed my vitamin D amount to 2,000 every other day and the 1,000 the other days. I go back in a few more months to have it checked again. I take D3 1,000IU chocolate flavored chews.i get them at CVS(their brand). I buy them when on sale buy one, get one. I take them after a meal.

I jumped on the bandwagon and bought one yesterday as well. Now to see if I actually use it when it comes! It's only the two of us so Ive been pretty lazy about cooking. I figure if it comes and I dont get off my butt n actually use it then I'll save it for a Christmas gift. Either way it's a win-win.
