I can see I’m going to be in the minority here as far as understanding the system for buying extras at lunch. Nobody is being denied an actual lunch. They don’t even take cash at the register, so no kid is standing there with a dollar asking for ice cream. If you want to consider the full picture, here’s a local news article. www.wdtn.com/news/local-news/lebanon-school-apologizes-for-controversial-ice-cream-post/amp/ Backing out of this thread now. Enjoy your evening.

This is local-ish to me. If read the full district statement, you’ll see that it was a statement reiterating an existing policy. If a kid has a negative balance, they still can buy lunch - just not an extra like ice cream. This seems logical - you can’t continue to run up a negative balance on non-necessities. They did apologize for the lack of empathy in the way the original message came across. But if the post is correct, the school DID attempt to punish kids with negative balances, by refusing to allow them to buy ice cream even if they bring the cash to pay for it. This isn't prison. It’s children who are already downtrodden, being exposed to additional unkindness and humiliation. I don’t really care if it was an “existing policy.” It still sucks. We used to have ice cream days at the 14yo’s grade school, and no one was checking lunch balance logs before selling ice cream to a kid with $1 in his grubby little hand. So, if my family has a bill that I don’t pay… Can I continue to use the service? I’m not seeing the difference. I agree with you that it isn’t the kid’s fault. There is ample opportunity to apply for free/reduced lunch if the bill truly can’t be paid.

I would have her speak to a counselor or advisor and make sure the course makes sense to take if she isn’t getting the diploma (in case the English teacher doesn’t have the full story)… And then get the heck out of her way and let her take the class if she’s up for the challenge!

Cuddle Duds (linked above) came to mind for me too. Also investigate the J. Crew tissue tees.

I'd buy cookies or another treat, or take a plant.

Another option…. I would use the last name, without “the”. Maybe a stamp that has a monogram letter and then just the last name followed by the address.
This negates the “multiples” issue, and other people have no idea how many people are involved in Lastname.
Have fun picking a stamp, I always get a kick out of looking at those!

I got married last fall. We did not do a link on our registry for a honeymoon fund or anything like that. I’d say our monetary gifts were about 70% check, 30% cash.

I wonder if there’s a way to slide into a conversation that you know/have a hunch without full on accusing. If they know, they’re clearly not going to apologize at this point. I might want to make it known that I know it’s certainly a possibility.

Springsteen in a few weeks, and maybe Billy Joel/Stevie Knicks in August. I need to take a look at Old Dominion’s schedule - saw them mentioned upthread and would like to see them.

I’d be tempted to keep both if you have space in the garage/basement. If not, I’d keep the Maytag.

I think I’m a little slaphappy… my gut reaction was “I don’t”! My further instinct/first guess would be May-ben.

Is it Billy Joel's "I Go To Extremes"? I bet it’s this! Another vote for this! I read the post earlier and couldn’t make sense of it, but now plugging in Billy’s voice, it’s all coming together 😂

I tested positive for covid yesterday and was able to start Paxlovid this afternoon. It seems as though I’m in the lucky percentage of the population who experience “Paxlovid mouth”. It is a terrible taste in my mouth that shows up unless I am actively chewing (food, gum) or holding water. I have tried ginger chews, and they worked okay, but I’m running through the bag quickly and looking for other alternatives. Any success stories? Thanks!

Caprese skewers Christmas tree shaped cheese - either cuts or cheeseball (Pinterest - there are a ton of cute ones) ETA: I think my mom serves the million dollar dip above as a cheese ball. Spinach dip in crock pot Buffalo chicken dip Crab points - English muffins with old English and crab meat (google this, I promise they’re delicious and so easy!) The old standby - frozen shrimp from Sam’s club - can’t get much easier as long as you remember to thaw them 😊

I’ve not had good luck with these either. I’ve really liked the Martha Stewart towels at Macy’s for a plush but thin/quick drying option.

I am working on honeymoon planning. We're headed on a cruise, but stuck a day of resort hopping/Disney Springs on the Friday before we board. We won't be buying park passes. Hit me with your favorite lunch/dinner spots!

I bought a new one at j crew this weekend. They currently have a super baggy one, a super slim one, and a “classic”. I went with the classic and strongly advise completely ignoring the number on the tag on all of the above 😂. I had everything from an 8 to a snug 16 on, it was wild.

I mentally formed my answer before I read the whole thread and see that you’ve already made a decision, but I’ll provide a post of support and share my thinking… I would not right away. I’m certainly not saying never. I’d wait until closer to nine months/a year. It gives you some more time to see how babies have reacted.
Reading what your doctors have said, I would have zero hesitation following their advice.
I am fully vaccinated, don’t do flu shots and am a teacher, for whatever that’s worth 😊. Congratulations on baby!

For more context, here’s what we chose. Groom will be in a navy suit. Fathers in suits of their choice - I think they may end up being navy, but not positive.
