Morning, my mojo seems to leave me after lunch. Except at crops...then, I can scrap till bedtime, though the last layouts seem to get simpler and simpler.

Many years ago there was an organizing thread that said to start with scrapping a page. And take note of how you scrap.
If you ask yourself "where is that baby paper", organize by theme. If you ask "where is that blue?" organize by color. If you ask, "where is that Echo Park Baby Boy", organize by collection.
My primary for pp is collection, but they are organized by collection in a Theme. My themes are baby, boy, girl, school, male, female, vintage, spring, summer, fall, winter and Christmas has its own shelf. As I will think, 'baby boy' but like my collections together. and from there, I will pull Echo Park.
Of course, as someone mentioned, there are orphans. Since CTMH came up with 'Mixed Ins' I keep these according to the A or B side I like best, by color, in an accordian type holder.(by We R Memory Keepers, I get from Zulily) So if I feel my page needs a little something more, I have easy access to that folder.
Do the same with your embellishments.

Northern Nevada, been scrapping close to 20 years. Took it up in 2004 when my youngest left for college, I call scrapbooking my empty nest therapy. (that and my cat,Percy at the time). I could reflive memories with the scrapping and pour my maternal instincts into the cat. I was at the old 2 Peas. But find I am very 'spotty' visiting here. Trying to jump back in.

I've just started doing page kits for crops and retreats. It does keep me focused and I am more productive. Also got tired of overpacking and having to make 2 to 3 trips to the car.
I don't pack a lot of embellishments, just the basics. I figure when I get home and unpack them to put in my books...I can do the finishing touches.
A little nervous, I just 'kitted' my kids' Australia trip, hundreds of photos, for a 3 day crop at the end of the month... and yes, what if I do 'change my mind' when I get there.
(guess I'll bring a set of stamps to make some cards)

mostly sticker pages and die cuts.
Nowadays, find myself buying just the sticker sheet... With so many similar color combinations, can use them to 'freshen' up some of the older lines.

I miss the variety of scrapbook companies and the quality... I also miss this the most. ...everything heading to American Crafts is worrying. ...& becomes indistinguishable; the acquired companies inevitably lose the unique qualities that made them popular. : : I keep thinking of the movie Demolition Man and how all restarants were called 'Taco Bell' as Taco Bell won the 'franchise wars'. American Crafts is Taco Bell!

Patterned paper here, with co-ordinated cardstock to matt my pics.
I've really got to stop myself and tell myself to use cardstock as a background.

Gossamer Blue, also. I was just pulling some of my old pocket page kits and thinking how much I liked them.
That we could shop Target and Walmart and have a pretty good selection...not just part of an aisle.

The Rubber BuggyI've discovered Rubber Buggy for Mintay. the rest of my online go to's are already listed. Though I just bought from Not Just for Boys, for cutfiles already cut, and had a great experience, quick shipping and a well packed package. I've had issues with packaging. Michaels sent me plastic paper organizers in a plastic bag envelope! the envelope was torn, the organizers were cracked and dirty from shipper leaving them at my gate. Luckily, I could return to store, once they reopened and return was super easy. I've noticed Joanne send a couple of paper packs in the same plastic bag envelope. There is another company (kit club) I won't mention...it was stuffed in an envelope and came to me bent. I've had issues with 2 orders with this company and won't shop again. So I was sooo happy to get those cutfiles in a well packaged box from 'Not Just for Boys'.

If you look at the Scrapbook.com classes, Shimelle uses her 6x8's on a 12x12 layout. The class is titled Timeless Layout Techniques.

though for some reason, I have tons of Valentine's day paper! Guess as grandkids start going to school...there will be more pics?
I generally don't scrap what makes me sad. But I have scrapped a beautiful pic from when fil was in a rehab home..it was a behind shot of him and then, 3 year old granddaughter holding hands as he was being wheeled down the hall. I scrapped it for her book, as part of a memorial page the year he passed. I know he would be gone soon after that pic...so it makes me sad. But hopefully, she won't have the same response and see it as a beautiful moment between her and her great grandpa.
My mom passed last year, so I'll do a memorial page in the 2018 books. I did take pics of the stained glass window over her casket and the flowers overflowing on her casket. They were the things I thought she would like and comment on. We will see.

I struggle with the ones that look like one big photograph..I like how they look, but struggle with photo placement. Recently used one on a Mosaic, it looked alright.
But was a 'pill' to put together.

a bit of nostalgia is fun... after this thread, I am going to use my rotary phone papers I have set aside...oooh granddaughter just got her first cell for her birthday!
This years father's day card I used a cut apart from a Covid Line...and wrote about a 'unique' fathers day. Cuz like you all said, I just did not want to do the traditional tie or bear in a hat.

I like and collect the little campers and mason jars ...haven't used them yet. Right now I really love the bees.
I like the 'trends'...the mustache one, though I'm dying for masculine images, I did not 'get' either.
I was just thinking about chevrons, I don't think I've been seeing as many lately. I also really struggle to use plaids.
But since I scrapbook my grands, ages 11 to 4...bring on those mermaids, llamas, sloths, hedgehogs, unicorns, superheros...loving all of them.
For me, lately I find myself gravitating toward the softness of the Mintay line...like Webster Pages of old(which I collected and rarely used) ...maybe because I do scrapbook the grands and am getting tired of kid colors and images. So a chandelier, clawfoot tub, topiaries...other 'luxury' images may be something I would pick up.

I used to sub to Gossamer Blue's pocket page kits...and still miss them. I liked that they were original design and the cards were both horizontal and vertical. Right now, sub to The Scraproom and love it! Since I only have box stores around me...guess, like most of us...I love getting current, good, nonbox store papers.

I was able to go Friday, had a dr appt nearby and drove by to see the Open Banner. Happiest moment of the quarantine. Saw the one way arrows and spots marked out for standing in line. Spent my budget. Mostly 6x8 pads which I discovered watching Shimelle's classes on Scrapbook.com, so I am now 'collecting' them. Hoping to go back this coming week. I live in the 'boonies' so my shopping/errand trips are not impulsive.

Hi All...its been a couple of years since I have posted...but I do recognize some of your avatars! Mother's day was quiet here, with a couple of facetime and phone calls from kids and grandbabies. I got my 'growl' from 3 year old Jax...that is just how he greets us during facetime. siiiigh. This is my first mother's day without my mom, as she passed almost a year ago. DH's mom lives in an independent living facility, so he stopped by with a card for her and spoke to her thru her window. It has to be tough for her, because not only are we not allowed to visit...she is also limited to her studio apartment. DH is also getting us some curbside dinner, that is a chore, as we live out in the boonies...so it is a 30 minute drive each way.

With 3 grandsons, I am always on the lookout for good boy/masculine papers. They are young, 3 thru 5 years of age, so I am having a lot of luck with Echo Park. Camping papers are good and the B side of pet papers!

after getting my Gemini Jr, I became a die collector! I love the intricate cuts. My only issue is I go thru plates pretty quickly. They would warp...just recently figured out to flip the top one after each use.

Got a bit done, DH was out of town, so I 'holed' up in my room from Sat Afternoon, till @3:30 Sunday afternoon. P.S. it was wonderful.
Finally started on a granddaughter book...been doing the 3 grandsons so far this year. 11 pages done, but missing some pics...and printer is out of ink, so there are a few missing in between. I may not scrap chronologically, but really try to have my books in chronological order.
Also have 3 more pages for the other granddaughter designed but not yet glued down. these will sit on my desk, and during the week I will try to figure out what I feel is 'missing'...y'all ever do that? Like the second look makes them more complete?
AND, grabbed some old kits that were 'almost' done...and was able to if not use them up, at least break up a few of them. So, it does feel like I accomplished something.
Also watched the last season of Grimm...wow..

I have been progressing fairly well with re-organizing my room. I had to pack it up earlier this year, and actually, unpacking and rethinking the organization has been nice.
A recent project has been to put my Bling in a ROYGBP type of order. I have old tins from Stampin' Up...so one tin has ROY the other has GBP and then there is one for Neutrals. I have multicolored in a basket and these are all in an Ikea Raskog cart.
A couple of areas I would really like to work on is my project life style cards and figure out an inventory of my stamps.
Will be watching how you handle your stamps. Would be interested in how you categorize them. By Brand? By theme? I'm kind of a mix of both. For example, I keep my CTMH stamps together but in categories, such as sentiments..children..seasonal...that type of thing. I think I use something similar as stamp pockets (the ones by Avery Elle) to keep my project life cards by collection. And I use the fridge bins for my 6x6 papers.
