I would try the dip before replacing the chain. I use Tarn-x from Home Depot! You can get anti-tarnish cloth by the yard to wrap your silver in or the squares of anti-tarnish paper if you put your jewelry in baggies. I've gotten both from Amazon. (I make sterling jewelry - @love.Mom.Designs on instagram) I've tried so many things, but always end up polishing for a full day before a show. The alum foil/baking soda method that crazy4scraps mentioned above also works in a pinch.
You mentioned anti-tarnish chain. If you're looking for anti tarnish sterling silver chain, it's been coated with rhodium to prevent air from oxidizing. It's a good option.

Just get the Key lime pie everywhere you go!! I don't know if it's still there, but we loved "The Raw Bar" - it's an oyster bar, not a bar-bar. The food was great. We just liked walking around and looking at all the Victorians and going to the pier (I think) or maybe just the area down around the Southernmost point) i forget - to watch the sunset - where everyone claps when the sun goes down. There were always cool street preformers. BUT it's been literally decades since I've been there.

I had mine on my face, including the surface of my right eye, my temple and up into my hairline.
It started out as a tingling feeling for about a day, then I woke up with a rash (some bumps, some just a weird thickening of the skin) and my eye was cherry red. It spread for a few days and stayed inflamed for about 10 days. My skin and eyeball burned and itched. AND I looked like a monster!!! lol
The tingling feeling I had felt like what my sister describes when she is getting a cold sore. It tingles first before it breaks out.
The Dr that diagnosed me was my eye Dr. He said I was lucky that it didn't affect the nerve that goes to the interior of the eye, that is very dangerous.

my family has always used the recipe on the pumpkin pan. What are other people doing? What recipe? Is it on the bottom of one of those vintage white ceramic pie pans, like I've seen at Goodwill? I've seen apple pie recipe pans, maybe I should look for the pumpkin pie pan! Oh, wait, did you mean can? not pan? lol

Kids living at home - sports practice 3 nights/week, two different kids/sports. Full time work for both myself and husband: I had 6 weekly menus. I purchased and prepped the food for the week on Sundays and could move the meals around when I felt like it: I had 3 big meals where I used the left overs for a different meal the next day like this: Sunday tri-tip, Monday French Dips, Tues roast chicken, wed chicken soup or tacos, Thurs fried fish, Friday fish tacos, etc Every time I made a rice dish I'd make double/triple and package to pull out as needed. I allowed one night for take-out or eat-out. I absolutely loved knowing what the heck I was doing and because of our schedule, I needed it. Now with no kids - I'm sick of cooking. I buy meat on sale and eat out of our freezer for meat, on weekends I shop for veggies and will usually still do the two nights/one entree thing with a different veg and salad each night. I still work full time and now have a side/business that takes up weekends but having the kids gone relieves my need to always have dinners ready. i'm pretty good at getting home from work at 6:00 and pulling dinner together by 6:30. We also eat a lot of Trader Joes frozen sides and dishes now.

wow, I didn't know there were sales on streaming services! good to know.
I'll be looking for mattresses - one twin and one queen. I think Macy's online and costco may be the best options...

ugh. I've passed one. It took about 3 weeks from the beginning to end. I remember crawling around my bedroom floor on my hands and knees sobbing. My husband was working out of town and my daughter was house sitting down the street. I had to call her at 2:00 am and have her come down and take me to the hospital. It was not pretty!
Glad you are on the mend!

I have an older friend who passed away after an illness of a few years. Our other friend told me he (the widower) would marry the first woman who brought him a casserole. He did. Some people just can't be alone.
I wish it were a happy ending though. He was 82, the new woman was an immigrant from China and 40 years old. He ended up changing his will and leaving his properties to her instead of his kids. AND she was already pregnant with another geriatric man's baby when he died. She knew what she was doing and had planned it, and actually he knew also but the other option was being alone. (he was my boss of 34 years, and I am now the trustee of his trust and estate - ugh. I loathe having to distribute his properties to this woman.)

I worked today and didn't realize it was a legal holiday until I was driving to work. The roads were empty, like zombie apocalypse empty. So weird but I loved it! It WAS a bummer not to be able to see the Rose Parade yesterday though. I missed it because of work.

I get ready for work the night before. I make my lunch, fix the coffee and lay out my clothes for the next day. I run my errands on my lunch hour so anything I need to bring goes by a the front door or in the trunk of my car. With this routine, I can wake up at 7am for work at 8:00 am and that usually includes a shower.
I do make my bed, clear my counters, don't let things pile up, pick up 26 items for put away, throw away or give away - all habits from my Flylady days!

Was it here that I found out about the facebook group - Chester Drawers? lol.
Younger people around here are saying "lets do a cheers" instead of a toast. Drives me crazy!
I'm still not used to the term "grow your business". It just doesn't sound correct.
We have a local newscaster that says "in regardS to...." I once googled it and I guess either is correct but it still annoys me.
My regional pet peeve is that the mountains that I grew up in are the Sierra not Sierras. (does that "that" bug anyone in that sentence? hahaha
What is Creami?

My loop would be Hawaii (visit family) - Japan - Vietnam or Thailand - New Zealand - Tahiti (Huge family there) and back to CA. - - - that is if I had unlimited funds. My budget trip would be just Tahiti, Tubuai and New Caledonia. My dad's Tahitian sister had 12 kids, they all have kids and grandkids now. I must have 50 family members there. I have only met a few of them and that was decades ago.

I drove a purple Suburban when my daughters were in elementary school. We drove 4 hours to buy it, at night, in the rain. When we got there the gentleman said - You know it's purple, right? (no) "you mean wine?" no. "you mean burgandy? - no. Purple. like BARNEY !!!!!!!! Well, for some reason, the Craigs List photos were in black and white and we thought it was black. The kids would not let us walk away. They HAD to have that purple suburban. Both my daughters learned to drive in that boat!! Needless to say, it was all of their friends' favorite car.
For some reason I can't post a picture. I took tons of photos before we sold it. I actually loved that gas-hog!!

If it were going to be something pricey like a day-excursion for more than one person, I'd have to ask my sibs if they were willing to help split for the other person's part, I wouldn't want for them to miss out, especially if it wasn't a recurring problem.
But if they actually could afford it but were too cheap to pitch in, I'd have to say sorry, no can do. (like the family member that always orders appetizers, the most expensive entree, bottles of wine or multiple cocktails and wants to split the bill equally) no, not going to cover that person's part.
I've missed many trips/events because I didn't have the money and I would never in a million years expect someone else to cover my part.
edited: Ok, I see what it is. I'm with you. I'd be ok with including them in the group shot, but wouldn't want to cover their own family portraits.

Hi you guys! I haven't been here in a few years, I just can't go online at work anymore and I've missed the peas so much!!
I'm 5'2" and had hit 202 lbs in February of this year. My daughter and I committed to Keto on March 1st and I'm right at 170 now. I think I'm shooting for 150 lbs, I'll see how I feel when I get closer. I think that averages around 5 lbs a month since March.
I'm not exactly doing the high-fat Keto, but I haven't returned to eating carbs. I've had 2 pieces of apple pie since March but other than that - no sugar, no rice, no potatoes, no pasta, only low carb Keto tortillas and bread occasionally. I eat veggies (tons) and meat and cheese. I can't believe I'm not totally sick of cauliflower rice!! lol
It's boring but the only way I can do it is all or nothing. I'm the person who can't eat one chip, I have to eat the whole bag, same with sugar. I never could eat 3 Oreos, it had to be 1/2 pack tonight, 1/2 pack tomorrow night. I would even buy a new pack and replace it in the cupboard so my family wouldn't know I ate the whole bag! I have absolutely no will power once I get off the wagon. I'm so afraid that I won't be able to maintain the weight loss once I'm at my goal weight.
Anyway, glad to be back here, I'm sure it will be off and on but if this is an ongoing topic, I'll be sure to check in when I can.

HI!! My dad grew up on Oahu, and I have family on Oahu and the big island. Kauai is my favorite, when I visited at age 20, I cashed in my return ticket and stayed 3 years. I'd definitely do two islands. Most people go to Oahu but unless you're a real history buff and need to see the Pearl Harbor memorial, I'd skip it. It's a bit busy, crowded for me. I'd suggest the big island for the Volcano and Waipio Valley, and Kauai or Maui for the pure bliss. I'm partial to Kauai. If you are there in the summer, Hanalei Bay is spectacular (to stay), in the winter when it's storming, the south shore is less rainy, still sunny - Poipu is amazing. On Kauai, we stay at the "Mermaid House" it will come up on a google search or on Trip advisor. 3 Bedroom house at the beach in Haena for $230/night. local style house, not touristy like Princeville would be. Kauai, you absolutely need to go on a boat/snorkel trip on the Na Pali Coast (or helicopter if it's in your budget) It's one of the most scenic places on the planet. Also, Waimea Canyon (grand canyon of the pacific) is amazing, as well as Kokee Park, the end of the road (north) Kee Beach. You'll need reservations through the park service for parking at Haena Beach park to get to Kee, Wailua River, Anini Beach...... the list goes on.. If you go, hire me as a guide, I'll be happy to show you the spots! I don't know a lot about Maui. When I was there, my favorite day was when we drove up to the Haleakala Crater for sunrise, then drive the long and winding road to Hana.

I would really like to use the salmon because there is a lot of it. You think I can go ahead and bake it? Yes. My favorite baked salmon: salt/pepper (or lemon pepper) both sides of the fish, brush with mayonnaise, coat with very finely chopped pecans or walnuts. I know the mayonnaise sounds weird but it doesn't taste like mayonnaise when the fish is cooked. It just has a yummy nutty crust. it's sooooooo good and easy and no white froth/slime! Maybe since the fish is brined, skip the salt.

Yep, I don't remember crawling around on my floor crying when I was in labor, but yes with my stone. I passed it myself with lots of water and exercise. My doc said the stone will only move when I move, and to kick my legs around, do jumping jacks, and vibrate my abdomen with my hands while walking around! Mine was stuck in my ureter (tube from kidney to bladder). Water is my new best friend!! I never want to go through that again.!

Big Basin State Park--the first state park in our state, burned last night. the headquarter buildings and others burned.. these were traditional "park" architectural ones built by CCC in the 1930's. the park is filled with massive redwood trees. the trees should be ok.. though not having burned in over 100 yrs means the fire would have been hotter than the "normal" ecosystem fire burning.. more fuel to consume. this park was also the site of one of the early girl scout camps in the 1920's. I camped there and hiked there several times.. a real loss. at least they opened I-80 again.. but these fires are going to be bad for a while. unhealthy air through the weekend. we have dense wet fog at our house on the sf coast this morning. Santa Cruz County resident here... Yep, a large part of Big Basin is already gone. The trees are not going to be ok. The fire is very hot and even though redwood bark is thick and slightly fire-resistant, the fire is gutting a lot of the BB old growth areas. It's heart breaking. It's all heart breaking. I was talking to someone in touch with the cougar watch program here, who collars and follows our mountain lion population and there are already quite a few cats which are no longer showing up on the locating program. You just feel so helpless. Standing in my backyard, the ash is falling like snow. My patio furniture looks like it's covered with snow. I have a friend on the west side who is standing in her yard with a hose, dousing the embers as they land in her yard. This is in the town of Santa Cruz, not in a rural area. Don't even get me started on Trump, threatening to pull our fire emergency money because we didn't rake the forest. Does he even know how big the "forest" is? ~shakes head~
