I’d be happy to make her a card. Let me know if she has any special interests/colors that I can incorporate.

Shoutout to joblackford for introducing me to Cards for Cubs a couple of years ago. My box of 100 encouragement cards went postal today. I had more ideas but ran out of time. Before I put the stamp sets back where they belong, I'll do my future self a favor and make a list of those ideas I didn't get to.

I’m guessing with this lineup that it’s over $200/300 easily. Anyone know the cost? I do love Honeybee Stamps, and some of the other companies have good products. Last April I paid $344 for the September event. I can't imagine it will be any less this year, possibly more.

I had fully intended to sign up for this event. But now that the sneaks are out, it's a no for me. I, too, am disappointed.

I store the section I'm using in a zip-lock baggie, but I don't zip it closed all the way. It does eventually dry out, but it doesn't get moldy that way. I store the remaining pieces in the original container. I do wash it after every 2 or 3 stamping sessions. Ditto except for the washing after every 2 or 3 stamping sessions.

Did you see they were referring to this as a series? I'm hoping there are birthday and thinking of you designs.

There is a work around for those mortarboard hats if you have a Minc/laminator. The Foil It Hooray Birthday has one panel that replaces the hats with birthday cakes. Foil the panel and eliminate the one layer of the quad stencil with the hats for that one quadrant.

I bought an Absorber years ago on Amazon. I cut it into pieces, and I'm only on the second one. The first one was still good, but it was really stained. This piece is going strong too. Just search on Amazon for Absorber, and you'll see lots of options. I bought the yellow one in the case. Hmmmm, this is tempting. You get 2 big huge ones for $26.50. Seems like it could almost be cut into thirds. I'm fine with the rags being stained, but do you have furry animals and does their fur cling to the absorber? That's my issue with the microfiber, it almost attracts my cats' fur. My original Absorber has to be over 10 years old. I cut it into 4 pieces and I'm on piece #2. It looks pretty bad due to stains but works just like new. I have 2 long haired dogs and the dust bunnies to prove it. No problems at all with the synthetic chamois.

What does it mean to have used something?
My "unused jail" is a 8x8x4 fridge bin (or 2 if shopping vs. crafting is really out of balance). For me, as long as some part of the set (stamp, die or stencil) sees ink or a die cutting machine, it's get of of jail free time for all!

1. I cut as I go. If I'm making card that use a layer of 4 x 5/1/4 and using 8-1/2 x 11 paper for that layer, I cut bases in multiples of 4. If using 12 x 12 patterned paper, I cut bases in multiples of 6.
2. As long as I can get a sentiment out of it, I keep it.
3. Following Jennifer McGuire's lead, I bought the plastic pocket folders at back-to-school time and cut them apart/to size using my Fiskars ProCision. It was a good chance to use the Crop-a-dile corner rounder.
Bonus question - My stamp set collection probably numbers in the thousands yet I'm pretty good about remembering what I have and where it is. My tip for locating a certain sentiment is to type it into the search box of a website that carries the brands you own - Simon, Ellen Hutson, scrapbook.com. Many times it will pull up the correct stamp set. If you know the manufacturer, go to their website and use the search function.

Anyone watching Meghann and Catherine at Creativation? Catherine has mentioned there will be a new company in the Fall event. I am wondering if it will be Picket Fence Studios? They did a live from Nicole’s booth. That's a really good guess!

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've posted here. This was the 3rd card event for me. Can't wait to sign up for the fall. Like marg said, it gives me something to look forward to in my boring life! I go into these events knowing that 25 to 50% of the products aren't for me and I still consider it a great deal. A few things really surprised me this time around and I actually dug into my donation box to retrieve them. I don't craft along with the classes because I need to change the design (mostly the sentiment) to work for donation cards and I make multiples of each design. Plus I enjoy watching the chat. There are certain companies and certain teachers that could go away and I wouldn't miss them at all. I enjoyed Mama Elephant and Pink Fresh and would be excited for those 2 to return. Waffle Flower, Julie Ebersole (Ellen Hutson) and Catherine Pooler would be welcome additions. I hope the future brings more masculine cards and the sympathy cards that were substituted in the spring event. All in all, as long as they keep the format the same, I'll continue to sign up.

MichyM Here's my take on classes but I have no inside info, this is just me thinking out loud. As a new stamper, you will probably get a well rounded intro to stamps. Main Classes: -Gina K. Designs: Gina Krupsky - This will be typical Gina K with ink blending and masking with white cardstock layered on black card stock. Personally, I hope it's another layered stencil set.-Lawn Fawn: Jenn Shurkus - This will be cutesy critters that need to be colored in with pens. Not my style at all.-Concord & 9th: Cathy Zielske - This will be clean classic cards with a bit of ink blending. I don't anticipate cutesy at all.-Hero Arts: Laura Bassen - Laura's style is not cutesy. If they listened to feedback from the March class we'll get coordinating dies. -Spellbinders: Kim Kesti - I'm guessing these will be either stitching dies or layering dies to make cards.-Taylored Expressions: Taylor Van Bruggen - I don't know much about TE but I loved their quad stencil concept from the March class.-Mama Elephant: Kristina Werner - Kristina is a copic colorer so I'm guessing this will be cutesy critters or florals that need to be colored.-Pink & Main: Michelle Currie - Possible cutesy but I don't know enough about Pink & Main
Mini Classes: Brutus Monroe - Not my style at all - too "artsy" for meRanger Ink - not sureElle’s Studio - Classic cardmaking with a focal sentiment - Love their last 2 classes - not cutesyClose To My Heart - not sure either just an embellishment for us to add to our cards or a small simple stamp setTherm O Web - some sort of foiling technique - probably not cutesyHoney Bee Stamps - cutesy probably with bee stampsYour Next Stamp - not sureScrapbook.com - probably just a product demo not actual cards to makeCrafter’s Companion - since they are part of the Gemini family, probably a die focused type cardAnyone else, feel free to add your thoughts on the classes. Taylored Expressions will be using Triple Slim layering stencils - 3 cards out of a single piece of paper and the description hints at falling leaves. Honey Bee - March's cards used balloons and stars (no bees) and all 3 were shaker cards. Since the theme of this event seems to be fall and winter, I would not expect bees. I didn't participate in the last fall event but I have seen the Close to My Heart stamp set from it. It was a very nice winter themed one. I'm disappointed Pink Fresh will not be there.

The details are now up on the scrapbookandcards.com website. Based on the manufacturers/teachers, I will be signing up again.
Even though I'm a long, long, long time stamper, I learned something new in each class. And even with a more than ample stash of stamps, dies and stencils, who doesn't like getting the latest and greatest?!!!
This will be my second time. I'm sure I won't make all the cards during that weekend. And I'm sure I'll modify most of the designs (specifically sentiments to suit the donation cards I need). Looking forward to it!

When I am done making a card, it gets placed along with an envelope in a card sleeve. It then goes in a divided storage organizer bin (just like I use to store my stamps and dies} behind its appropriate divider (birthday, thank you, sympathy, encouragement, get well, etc.)
