I just got my Tim Holtz stamp Platform in the mail today! I just took it out of the box and started playing with it. Yes I know I’m way behind the trends.

Oh where to begin... even though I got a lot done at my retreat in January, I still have so much to do. Always...I need to to keep working on my Yellowstone album (I actually finished 1 album now doing second album, so many photos). I need to print the rest of those vacation photos. I also need to organize my photos and get caught up on printing. I want to start my childhood album this year. That’ll be next.

I still have and use my CM circle cutters too! I love all of CM tools. They have the best tools ever and they’re very well made and last forever. I just recently had to replace the small photo/paper cutter.

I had the afternoon off because of the weather so I put on my flannels and finished 2 pages. I really hope our work is cancelled tomorrow but I doubt it. My boss is being stubborn.

All settled in and ready to scrapbook at my 4 day retreat after a very long slow drive because of snow. It’s supposed to be very cold the next few days, (-18 degrees tomorrow) perfect crafting weather. So looking forward to this “me” time and hopefully getting a lot done.

Definitely a box of random vintage papers. I am constantly on the lookout for my old favorites by companies no longer around.
Textured or smooth cardstock?

Few layers and flat. If you asked me a couple of years ago, I definitely would have said chunky and layered but now I’m very careful to keep my pages and albums as flat as possible.
Snacking while scrapbooking or no food/beverages on work area??

I don't have kids so a lot of my albums are about me (and those that aren't are usually about vacations). I love the idea of using the AE kits / OLW pages in your album. I definitely second the idea of using all the pretty things. I've made several pages where I've taken those too pretty to cover up papers and used them on pages without photos so I can see more of the design. My me albums contain a mix of serious and not so serious pages. When I turned 30 and again when I turned 40 I made an 8x8 album that gave a bit of a snapshot of my life right now, things I liked, my current job, what I was listening to/reading/watching, things I want to achieve in the next ten years (and the album when I turned 40 had a review page on the things I said I wanted to achieve in my 30th album), the car I drive, what my house looks like and my decorating choices, etc [br What a great idea to make the all about me right now albums for when you turned 30 and 40! Love that idea! I turn 50 next month and you inspired me to do the same. I’m doing OLW and may incorporate some of that as wellThank you for the wonderful idea!

Starting in 2010, I took about a 3 year break when my DD had serious health issues. It made me very upset to look at her and scrap photos of her healthy and happy. As her health became more stable, I started again and even did an album of her journey.

What is your word for 2019? allow Why did you choose this word? I tend to be a control freak and need to work on just allowing and accepting things as they are. I need to allow myself the freedom to be who I really am and not who others need me to be. Also, I need to allow myself to be spontaneous and have fun. Are you participating in Ali's class or another class/program on the internet to help with your OLW? I usually do my own thing but did sign up for Ali's class this year. So happy to have this thread. How are you planning to document your word? 3x8 traveler notebook Is this your first time participating in OLW? No. I've done this the past 4 years. If you've participated before, what were your previous words & how was your experience with the project? 2015-create, 2016-joy, 2017-kind, 2018-brave. Create and joy were super successful and I learned a lot about myself. Kind and brave were beneficial but not as much as the first too. They all have help me grow and am very happy to participate in this project. One of the things I do "just for me."

I just got home from work and would love to work on my DD but I have a couple of gifts to wrap and unfortunately I have to make a sympathy card for close family friends whose 30 year old daughter passed away last week. That’s heartbreaking! I’m so sorry. Thank you. It really is.

I have tons of both travel and Christmas. Most of my travel is geared towards lake, fishing, woods, wildlife as we spend a lot of time at a cabin most summers. As for Christmas, I am a sucker for anything Christmasy, doesn’t matter if it fits my DD style for that year or not. Whenever I shop for scrapbook stuff, something of both themes end up in my cart somehow....

I also realized yesterday as I was working on my DD that most of my family and home theme stuff revolves around houses. We live in a condominium and my daughter lives in an apartment and not a lot pertains to us.

Besides my title page, I have ONE page done in my DD... YAY me! The first page took me forever to finish. I really struggled with it for some reason. I have my other photos taken and printed so hopefully the other pages come together faster. This year, I’m doing things a bit differently. My theme is more wintery than Xmas. I think that’s throwing me off. Off to start page 2...

"Nights/day out" type stuff. Girls night out. Friends night out. Friend lunch date. Friend adventures. Niece or Nephew lunch date. Shopping with friends. etc... There doesn't seem to be a lot of night/day out type stuff. I make due with a bit of this and a little of that. In the past there of been a couple of various lines of merchandise specifically relating to a day or night out - adventures - etc.., but no new release/no new stuff every season. If I could I would design a line of stickers similar to the old Stikopotomous/Cafe Press - Rusty Pickle-ish -Daisy D-ish Lunch date! Shopping! Adventures Fun with friends Chips n Salsa and Dacquiri's Day hike Craft show Fall festival Cocktails Coffee - Tea - Milkshakes! Hanging out Time with friends, is time well spent. Movie time! Road trip! 100% agree!! I would love all those! Also, could really use kayaking theme items.

If you love photos, memorablia, and doing stuff with them, you're 1 of us! I've met a few people or heard about them, that don't care about photos, and I don't understand that at all. They have lost or thrown away or have in storage or given them back to the people who gave them to them. I've loved them since I was very young, way before I ever even knew there was such a thing as scrapbookng. This is exactly my thoughts! I could have written this myself!!!
